Services for Orvil Keith Cato, 80, of Meadow were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Meadow First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken McClung officiating.   Burial was in Meadow Cemetery.

Mr. Cato was born on Aug. 21, 1927, to Charles Henry and Virgie Sue Lockett Cato at their home in Lockett. He went to South Lockett School and graduated in 1946.

On June 2, 1946, he married Zelda Maxine Lemon in Elliott. They moved from Lockett to Meadow in 1954. Mr. Cato was a farmer.

The Cato family was honored in 1985 by The Terry County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce with the "Outstanding Farm Family" award. Keith later served as director on the Soil Conservation Board for 12 years.

Mr. Cato has been a member of Meadow First Baptist Church for 54 years, since he and Maxine joined in 1954. He served several years as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent and for 25 years he has been General Secretary.    He worked several years with the Youth Group at the church.

He is a charter member of the Meadow Museum Board, presently serving as Co-President.

Mr. Cato is survived by his wife--Maxine and two sons--Roy Keith and his wife--Jude of Meadow and Kerry Don and his wife--Pay of Temecula, Calif. and by one daughter--Cheryl Adele Henry and her husband--Rich of Huntsville.   He is also survived by one brother--Glenn of Vernon and two sisters--Ruth Grant and Helen Rogers, both of Wichita Falls.   He is survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Meadow First Baptist Church Bldg. Fund or the Meadow Museum.
