Charlie Douglas Caswell, 94, of Meadow will be held at 2p.m.
Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Meadow First Baptist Church with
Ken McClung officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow cemetery
under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Charlie was born September 23, 1917, to Charlie Douglas and Bessie Mae (Walls) Caswell in Sunset. Charlie married his wife of 64 years, Rowena Clemmer, on April 18, 1948, in Meadow. He loved the Lord, his church, family, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlie served in the South Pacific in World War II. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Meadow First Baptist for many years. Charlie also farmed until he was 92. He is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Caswell, his parents, six brothers and three sisters. Those left to mourn his loss are his wife, Rowena Caswell, of Meadow; two sons, Steve Caswell of Meadow, Daniel Caswell and wife Tina of Lubbock; daughter, Linda Barron and husband, Owen, of Lamesa; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Auvanell Parrish; and four brothers, Cletus, Olan, Norman and Neil Caswell. Charlie's favorite charities were Meadow First Baptist Church, Children's home of Lubbock and St. Jude Children's Hospital. |
