services for Melvin Carroll of Brownfield will be at 2 p.m., Friday,
Jan. 16, 2009, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction
of Brownfield Funeral Home. Melvin passed away January 12, 200, after a long illness. He was born Oct. 2, 1931, to L.P. and Eva Carroll in a small two room home out on the farm and graduated from Meadow High School in 1950. Melvin was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a life-long farmer in and around the Brownfield and Meadow area. He married Faye Allen on Jan. 31, 1959, in Meadow. Together they raised two children. Melvin is survived by his wife Faye; a daughter, Jeanette Redwine and her husband Jackie of San Angelo; a son, Jerry Carroll and his wife Leslie of Brownfield; a sister, Ollie Ellen Moore of West Plains, Mo.; his grandchildren, Patrick Carroll of Post, Stacie Redwine of San Angelo and Sharlon Walton of Brownfield; great grandkids, Kevin, Christian, Ethan, Seth, Jayden, Cheyanne and Willie Daniel. Melvin so enjoyed all of his grand and great-grandkids. He took great pleasure in talking, playing and teasing with all of them. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Brownfield Senior Center or one's favorite charity. Brownfield News |
