Thelma Imogene Carmichael, 89, of Brownfield passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010, in Brownfield.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Eddie McHugh and Bro. John Fields officiating under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Thelma was born April 4, 1920, in Yuma, Ariz., to Gus and Sallie Pollard. She was raised in Union, TX., and she graduated from high school there in 1938. She moved to Long Beach, Calif., where she worked for the telephone company.  It was there that she married John Woodrow Carmichael on February 23, 1944. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her son, John W. Carmichael, Jr., in 1985 and two brothers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and of the Senior Citizens Bridge Club.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Adair and her husband David, of Brownfield; three grandchildren, Greg Adair and his wife Jennifer of Brownfield, Patrick Adair and his wife Jennifer of Shallowater and Lori Orlando and her husband Mario of Milwaukee, Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jessa Adair of Brownfield, Garrett and Kate Adair of Shallowater and Bella and MaeLynn Orlando of Milwaukee, Wis.
