for Gorman Byrd, 75, of Brownfield were held Friday, July 6, in
Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe with Rev. Bob Byrd of Clovis,
N.M. and Brother Glenn Harlin of Springlake officiating.
Burial was in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Byrd died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in Brownfield. He was born Dec. 28, 1931, in Petersburg and was married to Juanita Caldwell in Norman, Okla. on Aug. 24, 1956. Mr. Byrd was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield. He had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher in the First Baptist Church in Clovis. N.M. He was a U.S. Army veteran with four years of service. He had farmed in and around Farwell. He attended Muleshoe High School and Wayland Baptist Univ. in Plainview. He was much loved by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ethel Byrd, and one brother, Gerald Byrd. Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife; two sons---Steven and his wife---Olivia of Albuquerque, N.M. and Neal of Brownfield; one brother---Bob and his wife---Joyce of Clovis, N.M. and one sister---Barbara Fudge of Tulia.
