Obituary for Frances Burda

Frances C. Burda, 91, of Brownfield passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009, in Brownfield. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.

Frances was born on Dec. 3, 1917, in Bremond to Frank and Janie O'Lexy. She married Floyd Stanley Burda in 1935 in Bremond. They moved to Brownfield in 1950. Together they owned and operated Fair Department Store in Brownfield for over 25 years. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Dr. Christopher Burda in 2008.

Frances is survived by her son, Don Burda and his wife Dovie, of Brownfield; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
