Evelyn Bryant were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the
Brownfield First Baptist Church Chapel with Jason Neill officiating.
Evelyn Marie Bryant, 82, passed from this life on Sunday, March 4, 2007. She was born September 19, 1924, to Fred and Christine Buchholz in LaPort, Texas. She spent her youth in Mena, Arkansas with her parents and five siblings: Bob, Gwen, Don, Bill, and Fred Jr. She married Jesse James Bryant on May 12, 1943, in Biloxi, Mississippi. They moved to West Texas where they raised four children. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2005. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting, and gardening, as well as occasionally working in the office of the grain elevators managed by Jesse. She also sold Real Estate for a number of years in Denver City. She is survived by 4 Children: Kathy Miller (Loren Appl) of Albuquerque; Jay Bryant Jr. (Jean) of Eugene, Oregon; Barbara Hooser (Dwayne) of Paradise, Texas; & Richard Bryant of Brownfield; two brothers: Don Buchholz and Bill Buchholz; 3 Grandchildren: Kip Miller, Lisa Childress (Billy), and Susie McGuire (Mark), and 6 Great-Grandchildren: Baylie Sawyer, and Madison of Wink, Texas, and Rachel, J.C., and Luke of Drummonds, Tennessee.
