                                Services for William C. Brown, Jr., 99, of Kingsland, were held Saturday, 
                                January 14, 2006, in Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.  Burial
                                was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield
                                Funeral Home.

                                Mr. Brown died Thursday, January 12, 2006, in Llano.   He was born
                                October 22, 1906, in Gonzales County to the late William C., Sr., and Emma
                                Brown.    He was married to Lillian Inez Smith on Dec. 7, 1928.   She died
                                on July 6, 1977, and he was later married to Mary Lou Arther who also
                                preceded him in death.

                                He was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran with service on the Navy Hospital
                                Ship "USS Sanctuary" where he operated the post office.   He was employed
                                by the US Postal Service for 31½ yrs until his retirement in 1965. 

                                Mr. Brown was a life member of the American Legion, Sons of the American 
                                Revolution and Sons of the Republic of Texas.   He was also a member of the
                                Highland Lakes Church of Christ.

                                He is survived by 1 son:  William C. Brown, III, and wife, Patricia, of Kingsland;
                                1 daughter: Shirley Bryant and husband, Robert, of New Braunfels; 4 grandchildren,
                                2 great-grandchildren; 1 step-daughter: Anne Gillespie and husband, Hugh; 
                                1 stepson-in-law: Bud Moates and 1 step-daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wright.
