Shirley Aliene Bridges, 76, of Brownfield inherited her spiritual body and joined the ranks of the heavenly angels on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

Aliene (as she was known) was born to Ralph and Elizabeth Keith on November 4, 1934, in Brownfield. Aliene attended schools in California and Brownfield. She was active in basketball and volleyball.
 
After the Keith family permanently relocated back to Brownfield, Aliene met the love of her life, Paul Wayne (Chuck) Bridges. On March 29, 1952, Paul and Aliene married in Lovington, New Mexico.
 
Aliene was a homemaker and assisted her husband with their scrap metal business. She enjoyed crafts and family activities. She became a born-again Christian when she was young and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
 
Aliene leaves her legacy to her four daughters; Velva Hock and husband Marvin, Sharon Milburn and husband Lonny and Diana Thompson, all of Brownfield; and Connie Long and husband Mark of Lubbock.; seven grandchildren; Kristy (Hock) Burkett, Alton (Bodie) Taylor, Toby Lynn Bridges, Chuck Wright, Jamie Taylor, Chastity (Wright) Wilson and Shawna Long; 13 great-grand children and a host of relatives and friends.

 Aliene's welcoming party consisting of those that preceded her in her earthly death are her parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Keith, husband Paul Wayne (Chuck) Bridges; two brothers, James Leo Keith and Howard Dale Keith; son-in-law Wendell Thompson and her grandson-in-law Charles Reneau.
 
Aliene has relocated and now resides in Beulah Land with Jesus Christ. She is loved and will be missed.
 
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial followed in Brownfield Cemetery. A visitation was held Thursday evening at Brownfield Funeral Home.
