a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22nd. A viewing will also be held at
Brownfield Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Services for Harold Dayle Boston, 96, of Lubbock will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 102 W. Tate, in Brownfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield. Harold Dayle "Snooks" passed away Monday, June 21, 2010, in Lubbock. He was born August 30, 1913, in Whitesboro, TX to Ben and Leah Chisum Boston. He attended school in Whitesboro until the age of thirteen when he moved to Wellington and graduated from High School in 1929. In 1933, he moved to Lubbock with his family and operated a wholesale candy business. He met Marion Alice Chisholm at her father's grocery store. On June 17, 1938, they were married in Brownfield, TX where they resided until moving to Lubbock in 2003 to be near their children. Marion was his partner, sweetheart, and the love of his life for over 67 years. After five years of marriage he was called into service during World War II. and was an infantry man in the U.S. Army. Harold was involved in combat in the European Theatre including Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. During his service he received severe injuries for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. Boston was an active member of the V.F.W and the American Legion. "H. D." and his wife owned and operated Boston's Super Dog and Restaurant until retirement in 1978. Harold Dayle was
preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marion Alice October 2,
2005; a grandson, Michael Hulse in 1995; and five siblings. |
