Bond, 78, formerly of Brownfield, died Thursday, February 19, 2009,
at Hospitality House in Lubbock. Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday, February 23, 2009, at Brownfield First Baptist Chapel with
Rev. Randy Land officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial
Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Brownfield Funeral Home. Betty was born May 1, 1930, to J. W. and Lyda Mae Huff in Garza County. She moved to Brownfield around 1950 and married Alfred L. Bond on December 26, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters. Betty is survived by her husband, Alfred; two sisters, Willie L. Holland of Tulsa, OK, Maurine Fite of San Antonio; her children, Glenna L. Carter and husband Howard of Bayview, Rodney C. Bond and wife Nancy of Beggs, OK and Jeri L. McLarty and husband Harvey of Lubbock; eight grandchildren, Craig, Candiss, Jason, Tanner, TJ, Taryn, Brad, Brent and nine great-grandchildren.
