| Services for
Alfred Lester Bond, 83, of Brownfield will be at 2 p.m. Thursday,
November 10, 2011, at Brownfield First Baptist Chapel with Dr. Carl
Moman officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery
under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. A family
visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Alfred went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 6, 2011. He was born on October 10, 1928, in Brownfield to Clyde and Hazel Bond. On December 26, 1952, he married Betty Joyce Huff in Lovington, N.M. Alfred spent most of his life in Terry County before moving to Lubbock in 2006. He farmed near Needmore prior to moving to Brownfield in 1956, working for Western Grain. He later retired as Grain Manager for Goodpasture. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty, both parents, and two brothers Clyde Jr. and Billy. Alfred is survived by his children, Glenna Holly Carter and husband Howard of Bayview, Rodney Bond and wife Nancy of Beggs, Okla., and Jeri McLarty and husband Harvey of Lubbock; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family would like to offer a very special thanks to Derek and Jaclyn Smith of Lubbock, all the staff of Mackenzie House, Accolade Hospice and attending staff of Covenant Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to The Children's Home of Lubbock or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The Brownfield News |
