82, of Brownfield passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in
Brownfield. Memorial services were held Friday, Sept. 4, at
Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Curry and Rev. Steve Carter
officiating under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Yvonne was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Lamesa to U. R. and Bertie Mae Middleton. She attended schools in Lamesa, where she graduated from high school in 1944. She then attended Hardin-Simmons College earning her bachelor's degree. She taught school in Lamesa for one year before marrying L.L. "Pid" Banta on January 28, 1950. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Yvonne is survived by her husband, L.L. "Pid" Banta of Brownfield, two sons, Mike Banta and his wife Cindy of Lubbock and Dennis Banta and Cindy Shaver of Brownfield; her daughter, Donna Lane and her husband Robert of Yantis; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Cullie Middleton, and her sister, Wanda Sue Jones. Brownfield News |
