Manuel Banda

                                Manuel Banda, 60, of Wellman, died on Dec. 6, 2005, at Brownfield
                                Regional Medical Center.   He was born on September 12, 1936, to
                                Ernesto and Teresa Banda in Alamo, Texas and attended school in
                                Alamo.   He moved to Wellman in 1967 from Bledsoe and worked at
                                Anderson Grain Co. for many years.  He also served on the Wellman
                                City Council and was on the Wellman Volunteer Fire Dept.

                                On April 28, 1963, Manuel met and married Genoveva Davila in Hargill,
                                Texas.

                                A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at
                                Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel in Brownfield.   A Funeral Mass was
                                held Friday, December 9, at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Hugh
                                Thekkel officiating.

                                Mr. Banda is survived by his wife, Genoveva, of the home; 1 son, Rudy,
                                of Brownfield; 3 daughters, Lucy Hughes and Nellie Ortiz, both of Wellman,
                                and Janie DeLaRosa of Whiteface; 7 brothers: Jimmy of Levelland, Gonzalo
                                of Washington, Miguel of Mission, TX., Juan of Las Milpas, TX., Jose of
                                Mexico, Cleto of Dallas, and Elidio of Pharr; and 1 sister, Rosa Munoz of
                                Pharr, TX.

                                Mr. Banda had 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.   He and his wife
                                raised two of their granddaughters, Teresa Franco and Amada Banda.    He was
                                preceded in death by 1 sister and 3 brothers.  

                                Personal Services were provided by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of
                                Brownfield.
