Services for Earnest Arnold Baldwin, 91, of Brownfield were held
Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ with David
Langford, Elmore Johnson and Earnest Smith officiating. Burial
followed at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Services will be under
the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Arnold passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in Lubbock. He was born March 7, 1917, in Blythe to William Jesse and Nancy Edith "Eda" Perkins Baldwin. He attended Forrester School in Terry County. He married Inez Mae Anderson, Sept. 4, 1938, in Brownfield. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2006. He farmed in Terry County until 1948 when he went into ministry as a Church of Christ Minister. Arnold ministered with five different congregations in 39 years. Three of those congregations were in Texas and one in Pinehurst, Idaho. He retired in 1984 and returned to Brownfield. He was a member of the West Tate Street Church of Christ in Brownfield. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jerry Wayne Baldwin; a brother, Archie Baldwin; three sisters, Rose Baldwin, Elma Barber and Bertha Mosteller. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons. Arnold is survived by two sons, Marshall Baldwin and his wife Sue of Lubbock and Jerold Baldwin and his wife Joy of Brownfield; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a niece and two nephews.
