Services for Tommy Lee Ashburn, 77, of Meadow were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Meadow. The family received friends from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Officiating was Ken McClung. Military honors were rendered at the Meadow Cemetery following services.

He was born to George and Tommie Ashburn December 18, 1932, in Stamford and moved to Meadow in 1942 from Jones County. He was saved at the age of 10 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Meadow since 1943, where he also served as a Deacon.

Tommy Lee married Charlotte Green December 25, 1955, in Brownfield. He served on the Meadow School Board and the Board of the Meadow Coop Gin, and farmed for 50 years.

He was a U.S. Army Military Police Officer, 9th Ordinance Battalion SWS of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his loving wife; a daughter, Sherry and Ray Brannan of Wolfforth; a son, Jadon and Brenda Ashburn of Meadow; a brother, J.B. Ashburn of Plains; four grandkids, Sarah, Tommy, Jina and Chris; and two great-grandkids, Nova and Zachary. He is preceded in death by his dad and mom and his brother, George.
