Angelita "Hela" Arguellez, age 69, of Brownfield passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in Lubbock.
 
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 29, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.  Burial will follow in Brownfield Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 21, 2011, with a Rosary   from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel and Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. Services are being directed by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors in Brownfield.
 
Mrs. Arguellez was born November 11, 1941, to Alfredo and Maria Elizardo in Yorktown, Texas.  On April 22, 1962, she married Genaro Arguellez in Richmond, Texas.  She moved to Brownfield from Wellman in 1981.
 
Angelita will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife and sister.  She loved to dance and go on picnics with her grandchildren.  She was also known for the delicious menudo that she cooked.  She was a Catholic.
 
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband: Genaro Arguellez of Brownfield; 2 Sons: Joe Louis Arguellez and wife Amanda of Amarillo and Bobby Arguellez and wife Gloria of Brownfield; 5 Brothers: Alfredo Elizardo, Jr. of Brownfield, Jose Elizardo and Fred Elizardo, both of Amarillo, Porfilio Elizardo of Odessa and Jerry Elizardo of Oklahoma City;  4 Sisters:  Teresa Rodriguez of Brownfield, Lupe Tomlinson of Amarillo, Peggy Grisso of Ft. Worth and Ruby Berlanga of San Antonio.  She also leaves 9 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchidlren.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 Son: Genaro, Jr.  in 1986; 1 Great-Granddaughter, Aleyah Arguellez in November of 2000; 1 Brother: Johnny Elizardo in 1986 and 1 Daughter, Norma Arguellez in 1966.
