Graveside services for J. T. "Buck" Albert, 97, of Brownfield were held Tuesday, March 11, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Carter officiating.

Mr. Albert passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 in Brownfield.   He was born Nov. 3, 1910, in Bugtussle, Okla. to Will James and Nancy Albert, and came to Texas with his family by covered wagon in 1922. He played baseball on a local baseball team.

In November 1931, he married Minnie Virgie Lansdon in Lovington, N.M. She preceded him in death Sept. 2, 1986.

They farmed northeast of Brownfield for many years. They also owned and operated a service station at 3rd and Main Street before retiring in 1968. Mr. Albert came out of retirement to own and operate United Van Lines & Storage and he also worked for Goodpasture for a number of years.    He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He is also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.    Mr. Albert is survived by one son--Chester and his wife--Sandra of Breckenridge; one daughter--Dorothy Marie Hughes and her husband--Lee of Mustang, Okla.

He is also survived by three grandchildren--Linda Thompson and her husband--Mike of Duncan, Okla; David Hughes and his wife--Denise of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Kristi Aimone and her husband August of Pearland and by two great grandchildren--Jennifer Thompson and Josh Thompson.    Mr. Albert is also survived by one sister--Ann Rounsaville of Utah and by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
