Angelita Alaniz, 62, of Brownfield died Saturday, Oct. 20 2007, in Lubbock.   Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ovidio Martinez officiating.

Mrs. Alaniz was born on Oct. 18, 1945, in Karnes City to Jacinto and Francisca Garcia. She moved to Brownfield in 1962 and  married Edward Alaniz on July 10, 1964, in Brownfield. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Seagraves.

Mrs. Alaniz is survived by her husband--Edward of Brownfield; two sons--Tony of Brownfield and Joe and his wife--Kathy of Slaton; two daughters--Gloria Contreras and her husband--Quintin of Lamesa and Amy Mendez and her husband--Fernando of Brownfield.

She is also survived by four sisters--Anita Morin of Brownfield, Lucia Martinez of Brownfield, Salome Alaniz of Brownfield, and Maria Villegas of Roscoe and three brothers--Martin Garcia of Plains, George Garcia of Kansas, and Jessie Garcia of Lamesa.

Mrs. Alaniz is also survived by 13 grandchildren--Mindy, Sandra, Timothy, Ashley, Aaron, Christina, Stacie, Elizabeth, Desiree, Quintin, Tabitha, Fernando Jr., and Heaven and three great-grandchildren--Madison, Athan, and Izis.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
