Mr. J.C. Hipp, a well known and highly respected farmer of the Rocky Point neighborhood, died very suddenly with heart trouble last Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock. He was up and walking about the place a few minutes before his death and had just come in and laid down on a pallet when he called his wife, and before she could get to him he was dead.
Mr. Hipp was 62 years of age. He came here from Collin county 10 years ago and bought the Floyd Hood farm about 3 and 1/2 miles south of Point where he has since resided. He was a member of the Christian church and always stood for the upbuilding and progress of his community. His remains were buried at the Rocky Point cemetery Saturday afternoon, Rev. H.B. Cash of Cumby conducting the funeral services in the presences of a large gathering of relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife and 8 children, other relatives and friends who have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. Two sisters were here to attend the funeral, Mesdames Mary Ferrell and Margurite McKee, both of Collin county.
