From the intersection of Hwy. 19 and Hwy. 69 at Emory, travel Highway 19N for 0.5 mile to F.M. 275. Turn west on F.M. 275. Travel 1.8 miles to the Prairie Grove Baptist Church and cemetery, on the south side of the road.

Prairie Grove Cemetery is one of Four African-American Cemeteries in Rains Co. TX

Funeral services for Henri Mae Lewis, 90, of Emory were held at Prairie Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, with Rev. Byrd officiating.
Burial followed in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herman Robinson, Hubert Robinson Jr., R.V. Clayton, Norris Lane, Charles Hunter and Troy McMillan.
Mrs. Lewis died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Rains County on Dec. 12, 1912, to Ben and Bobbie Malone Jackson. She married Lawrence Lewis on Feb. 14, 1947, in New York City, NY. She was a housewife and a Baptist.
Survivors include a brother, James Ostell Jackson of Carson, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Annie Jackson of Emory and Jewel Jackson of Amarillo; nieces, Rubie Wade and husband Henry of Emory, Dorothy Hatcherson of Fort Worth, Pamela James and husband Steven of Ontario, Calif., Brenda Bates and husband Melvin of Carson, Calif., Beverly Fields and husband Brian of Carson, Calif.; nephew, Dexter Jackson and wife Patricia of Rialto, Calif.; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Lola Plant and Anna Pearl Jackson; brothers, Charlie Jackson and Hubert Jackson.
Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
