Services for Gertrude Rabe Hughey, 85, of Emory were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at Clarks Chapel Church of God with Rev. Archie Scheers officiating.
Burial was in Lynch Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory. Pallbearers were Kirk Stuart, Scott Rabe, Melvin Hays, Jerry Don Cason, Rusty Armstrong and Joe David Orsborn. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Rabe, Billy Childers and Ronnie Cason.
Mrs. Hughey died July 23 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Rains County on May 3, 1917, to R.W. and Callie Pounds Rabe.
She married Ardiean Hughey, Jr. in Dallas. She was a retired beautician and a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include one grandson, Billy Bob Hughey; daughter-in-law, Tanny Hughey Emery; brothers, Glynn Rabe of Emory and Garrett Rabe of Edgewood; sisters, Ophelia Matlack of Emory and Cleo Ivy of Scurry.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961; son, Joe Bob Hughey; three brothers and one sister.
Donations may be made to Lynch Cemetery.
