Rains County, Texas Elm School
From the intersection of Highway 69 and 19, travel on Highway 19 north for 6.3 miles. Turn right on Farm Market Road 514, site is located 2.6 miles down this road on the right.
Ordered by the court that the following described territory be and the same is hereby declared a county school district of Rains County, Texas, under an act of the 26th Legislature requiring that several counties in this state be divided into school districts. Said district to be known as Elm School District No.14 meted and bounded as follows Beginning at the Hopkins County line on Garrett's Creek; thence with Garrett's Creek to Elm Creek and with Elm Creek to White Oak Branch; thence with White Oak Branch to Shotgun Road and with Shotgun Road to Riley Springs Road; with Riley Springs Road to Hopkins County line; with Hopkins County line to Elm Creek; with Elm Creek to W.E. Middleton southeast corner; with Middleton land line toAbercrombie's northeast corner; Abercrombie line to southeast corner; with Abercrombie lint to Frank Odonnel SE corner; with Frank Odonnel land to the SW corner; with Frank Odonnel SE line to A.M. Anderson land line to P Cates; with P Cates to Charley Potts; with Charley Potts to Mandy Wards; with Mandy Ward to SW corner with Mandy Ward SW corner with Mandy Ward S line to Charley Potts southwest corner; with Charley Potts to the Sulphur Springs road; with Sulphur Springs road to D.J. Nabors land line; with D.J. Nabors land line to B.J. Adams; with B.J. By 1911 Elm school had been consolidated with Good Hope school, which later was known as "Poole". (The Rains County Leader, April 21, 1911)
