age: 20Bertie taught at Poole School on the northeastern edge of Rains County in 1916 or 1917. She boarded with the Travis family who lived across from the school; it is now the Pounds place.
Bertie was married to Jacob Freiberger on September 28, 1919 by W.A. Lomax, minister. They had two children: Delwin Freiberger of Roswell, New Mexico and Bertie Marie FreibergerYoung of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Bertie Asbill Freiberger passed away when her youngest daughter, Bertie Marie, was born, on October 25, 1923; she is buried alongside her husband in the Elm Cemetery; Jacob died August 8, 1973. Delwin and Berties great-grandmother and great-grandfather raised them.Information provided by Bertie Marie Freiberger Young
