John Thomas Williams Family
William D. and Amy Williams' son, John Thomas, was born in Midfield at the home of Amy Williams' parents. He then lived on the home place with his parents until the death of his father in 1913. Amy Williams died of pneumonia in 1899.
In 1917, John Thomas Williams married Mary Elizabeth Wilcox. They lived at Chocolate Bayou until 1922, when they moved back to the home place of Will D. Williams on the Tres Palacios. John T. and Mary lived there for twelve years before moving to Angleton in 1936.

John Thomas Williams, Sr. died in February of 1963 and was buried at the old home place in the back yard under a big oak tree on the banks of the Tres Palacios River.

Darcy Wayne Pawelka, 50, of Clute TX died Thursday, April 13. He was
born Oct. 15, 1955 in Freeport TX to Fritz W. and Estelle Kaluza Pawelka.
He married Rachel Williams on Oct. 9, 1993 in Lake Jackson. Darcy was a
30 year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service at the Clute Post Office
where he delivered mail in Richwood. He was a former shop steward for
the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 4723. He was
completing his first full term as councilman for Ward E and was seeking
a second full term in the May election. He was appointed to the council
in 2002 to fill an unexpired term. Prior to serving on the council,
Darcy served on the planning and zoning board, the charter review
commission and the board of adjustments. He was a longtime supporter of
the Mosquito Festival and after becoming a council member, he took
greater pride in promoting and supporting the annual event. Darcy was a
1974 graduate of Brazoswood High School. In the early 1980s he coached
the Clute Stingrays girls softball team. |
