Last rites were held May 17 for Randall B. Clark, 44, who passed away at the Matagorda General Hospital, May 15.  Services were conducted by the Rev. Tom Plumbley, pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Survivors included his wife, Cathryn Clark of Bay City, three daughters, Miss Mary Clark, Miss Judy Ware, and Mrs. Janet Gay of Bay City, one son, Randle Clark of Bay City.

Pallbearers were David Nance, Voss McCrosky, Nini Landrum, Melvin Blum, W. H. King, and Edward Cook, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers, Frank Harrington, Harry Becker, Frank Allen, John Lesikar, Haydn Curtis, L. E. Brockman, Otis Birkner, Al Martinson, W. O. Love, Joe Birkner, Sr., Harold Griggers, Leon Abraham, Harry Worth, George Yoxtheimer, L. C. Gould, Ardelotte, Ernest Hudson, and all members of men’s Sunday School class of the First Christian Church.

SWEENY -- Cathryn Louise Long Clark, 81, of Sweeny, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002.

She was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Indianapolis, Ind., to the late John George "JC" and Mary Francis Adams Long. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of Christ in Boston, Mass.

Survivors: daughters, Janet S. Gay of Sweeny, Judy Byrd of LaMarque and Mary Glazner of Indianapolis, Ind.; son, Randall B. Clark II of Van Vleck; brother, John F. Long of The Woodlands; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: husband, Randall B. Clark Sr.; and parents.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home chapel in Bay City, the Rev. Brent Pittman and Mrs. Cynthia Baughman officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, [Matagorda County, Texas]. Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, Bay City, 979-245-4613. A00014B2002FB07

Nora Lee Cox Sedam

Nora Lee Cox Sedam, 84, of Bay City, died July 12, 2004. She was affectionately known as "Granny" to her many friends in the Bay City and surrounding area. She was born June 25, 1920 in Lockhart, Texas to the late Frank C. H. and Norma Meta Harborth Woerndel.

Proud of her German heritage, she grew up in The Heights of Houston and in the Seguin, Texas area. Proudly, she did her part for the war effort during WW II, working as a welder at Dixon Gun Plant in Houston. She could grow any plant to its fullest glory. She was able to fix anything! She had a knack with creative ways to help her children with their projects, training them to be resourceful and creative in problem solving.

Nora Lee enjoyed fishing and family gatherings, playing board games, and playing with her grandchildren and their families.

Survivors include: her husband, Glenn J. Sedam of Bay City; her children, Audrey H. Chambless of Bay City, Paul L. Horn and his wife Laura of Houston, Dudley L. Horn, Norma "Tinker" Miller and her husband C. G. of Dallas, Joe H. Cox and his wife Carol of West Columbia; 10 dear grandchildren, nine precious great-grandchildren and three adorable great -great- grandchildren; her extended family, Cindy, Linda and Tommy Sedam, and beloved Sedam grandchildren who showed Granny so much love.

She was preceded in death by husbands Leon Horn and J. H. (Hughs) Cox, her son-in-law, Travis Chambless, and Glenn's son Glenn Jr.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Legacy Assisted Living staff for their tender love and care.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the First Christian Church of Bay City with the Rev. Arden Aldridge officiating. Family visitation will follow the service. Private burial will be at a later date.

Funeral services for Curtis Eugene Goodman, 52, of Bay City will be held 4 pm Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. W. D. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck.

The family will receive friends and visitors from 7-8:30 pm today Bay City Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Goodman was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Bristol, Tenn. To David L. and Lucille Fleener Goodman and died Feb. 15, 1989, at Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City.

Mr. Goodman was employed at Phillips Petroleum Refinery in Sweeny for 25 years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Adult III Sunday School member, choir member and served on many committees.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Goodman of Bay City; Mark Goodman of Bay City; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Scott Evans of Bay City; parents, Mr. and Mrs. David L. Goodman of Sweeny; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Aldin M Morrell of Bristol, Tenn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Charles Young of Austin and Doris and Charles Allen of Houston; and a niece and nephew, Lisa and Brent Allen.

Pallbearers include Glyn Kinsey, W. E. (Bill) Ehlert Jr., Andy Anderson James Sowell, Gerald Rowland, Albert Mann, Norman Vestal and Charles Hardin.  Honorary pallbearers include the Deacon Council of First Baptist Church, members of the Adult III Sunday School Class and Dr. James Cowart, Dr. Joe Cannon, Frank Allen, Dr. Hollie Briscoe, Rex Quinn, Bill Correll, Gaston Morton, the Rev. Charles Sheppard, Ron Eaton, W. H. McGonagle, Jack Bulter, Martin Conroy, Milton Fenley, James Page and Bill Loomas.

Jean Goodman Baker

Jean Goodman Baker, 66, of Bay City, passed away December 31,2004, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

She was born June 20, 1938, in Bristol, Tennessee, to the late Aldin and Mabel Phelps Morrell.

Mrs. Baker was a resident of Bay City since 1961.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, church organist for 30 years, and was very active in all of the church music activities and special productions at Christmas, Easter and other special events.

She also was a music teacher for Bay City ISD, where she also was very involved in various school productions.

Survivors include: her husband, Dr. W.D. Baker of Bay City; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Scott Evans; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Andru and Stacey Goodman of Bay City; step-daughters, Bette Gibson of Houston, and Linda Baker of Shreveport, Louisiana; step-sons, Daniel Baker and his wife Mary of Georgetown, and Lester Baker and his wife Vickie of Keller, Texas; and several step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Goodman.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating.

Pallbearers were Andy Anderson, Stan Eldridge, Roger Harris, John McMillan, Joe Rowland and Ronnie Rowland.

Dr. James E. Cowart and the deacons of the First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

Arrangements were with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, Bay City (979)245-4613.
