Melba Ruth Partain, 16 Months Old, Dies Suddenly Monday

Again this community was startled by the announcement early Monday morning of the death of darling Melba Ruth. Everything that love and medical skill could do could not overcome that dread destroyer of children, membranous croup.

In the early hours of the morning she gently pushed the physician’s hand away and was gone. An unusually attractive child, both because of her almost perfect body and beautiful face, and a most winsome personality, and sweetness.

Another beautiful flower transplanted to the Father’s garden; a bud plucked from earth to open in the Heavenly mansions. Melba Ruth Partain, oldest child of J. A. and Ruth Skinner Partain, was born in Houston, Dec. 21, 1931. Surviving are her parents, one brother, four months old, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Skinner and Mr. and Mrs. John Partain.
