PALACIOS - Maria Garcia, age 74 passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016. She was born March 28, 1942. Visitation Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 5 - 8pm with a rosary at 7pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios. Funeral mass Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10am at the church. Burial to follow at Palacios Cemetery.

A Funeral Mass for Maria Chavez Garcia, 74 of Palacios, was held Oct. 12. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Palacios.
Maria was born March 28, 1942 in New Gulf, Texas to the late Placido Chavez and Higinia Alvarado Chavez and she passed away October 8, 2016.
She is survived by her husband, Blases Garcia of Palacios; daughters, Debbie G. (Vicente) Garza and Alice G. (Billy) Kalina; sons, Henry (Becky) Garcia and Steven (Stephanie) Garcia; sisters, Lucy Garcia, Esther Chavez, and Beatrice Gomez; brothers, Roy Chavez and Ralph Chavez; grandchildren, Vicente Garza Jr., Alejandro Garza, Catalina Garza, Jacqulyn Palmer, Isabella Kalina, William Kalina, Aaron Mills, Henry Garcia Jr., Samantha Rocha, Sara Garcia, Brent Garcia and Brandon Garcia; great-grandchildren Ava Rocha, Lane Brandes and Jace Brandes. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Pallbearers were Vicente Garza Jr., Steven Garcia, Henry Garcia, Aaron Mills, Brent Garcia and Daniel Cuellar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Garcia Jr., Alejandro Garza, Brandon Garcia, William Kalina, Lane Brandes, and Jace Brandes.
Services are held under the direction of Artero Memorial Chapels in Port Lavaca.
