Funeral services for Annie Ruth Walton, 87, of Bay City will be held 10 a. m. Thursday at the Bay City Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. W. D. Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Hawley Cemetery, Blessing. Mrs. Walton was born April 7, 1903, to J. W. and Annie Tevebaugh Brashier in Utopia and died Aug. 7, 1990, at Bay Villa Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Rector and Jane Walton of Bay City; a son, Leon D. Walton of Uvalde; three grandchildren, Jack Walton of Dallas, Richard L. Walton of Bay City and Susan Walton of Dallas; and two great-grandchildren, Brad and Kristin Walton of Dallas and Richard Walton of Bay City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rector R. Jane L. Walton, 84, of Bay City went to be with The Lord on Wednesday June 9, 2004, at The Legacy. She was born March 13, 1920 in Cleveland, Texas. Mrs. Walton was a devoted and active member of the First Baptist Church and a resident of Bay City since 1964. She was catalog sales supervisor for J. C. Penney for many years. Her quick wit and loving spirit touched many lives and she will be missed dearly. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who devoted her life to her family, church, and many friends.
Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, Rector Walton of Bay City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard "Dick" and Betty Walton of Bay City and Jack and Sherry Walton of Ashburn, Virgin Islands; three grandchildren, Brad Walton and wife Cathy of Alameda, California, Kristian Seagraves and husband Richard of Sacramento, California, and Dr. Richard Wade Walton and wife Ann of San Antonio; and three great-grandchildren, Sage Walton of Alameda, California, Calder and Aidan Walton both of Sacramento, California.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004, at The First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas.

Rector Russell Walton, Jr. 85, of Bay City died February 21, 2006 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1920 in Del Rio, TX to the late Rector Russell Walton, Sr and Ann Ruth Brashier Walton. Rev. Walton was a resident of Bay City since 1964 and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church. Rev. Walton was a former minister at Magnet Baptist and Lane City Baptist, and interim minister at Matagorda Baptist Church, and was former minister of Education & Youth at First Baptist Church. He also was a longtime member of the Bay City Coastalaires. Rector’s most favorite activities were his singing with the Coastalaires and his Christian witness thru song at First Baptist Church as well as other places. Funeral services for Dale Charles Warn, 37, of Markham will be held 1 p. m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Sonnier officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Blessing. Mr. Warn was born Oct. 14 1951, in Matagorda County, Texas, to Charles and Betty Krenek Warn and died Feb. 1, 1989, in Fort Bend County. He graduated from Tidehaven High School in 1970, Wharton County Junior College in 1972 and Texas A & M University in 1974. He was a member of the Matagorda County, Texas Southwest and national cattleman’s associations, Bay City Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, Industrial Foundation and United Fund. He was treasurer of the Matagorda County Red Cross and treasurer and past president of the Association of Former Students of Texas A & M in the Matagorda County area. Mr. Warn joined American National Bank in January 1987 and currently held the position of senior vice president and loan officer. He had a lengthy tenure at Bay City Bank and Trust where he also served as vice president and loan officer. He was a member of the Catholic church. Survivors include a wife, Dru Mahler Warn of Markham; a daughter, Melissa Ann Warn of Markham; mother, Betty Warn of Bay City; father, Charles Warn of Midfield; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Warn of Palacios; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Frank J. Krenek of Bay City; a sister, Patricia Warn Schmidt of Spring, Texas; three brothers, Dennis and Timothy Warn of Bay City and Tracy Warn of Houston; and godfather by baptism, Dick Dawdy of Bay City. Funeral services for Enis Arrieta Woodson Warn, 82, of Palacios will be held 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jim Welch officiating. Mrs. Warn was born Sept. 5, 1909, to Ely Anderson and Emma Wigley Woodson in Fannin County and died April 5, 1992, at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City after a long battle with cancer. She was a member of an old pioneer family that came to Texas in the 1800s. She was married to Bedford Forest Warn for 67 years and was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bedford Forest Warn of Palacios; a daughter and son-in-law, Arieta and Wayne Cook of Corpus Christi; a son, Charles Woodson Warn of Midfield; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and loving friends. PALACIOS [Matagorda County, Texas] -- Elizabeth Weakley, 89, of Palacios, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001.
She was born July 31, 1912, in Katy, to the late William and Rebecca Thomas Sills. She was a 25 year member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of First Baptist Church of Palacios. She was a homemaker.
Survivors: daughter, Emily Edmunds of San Antonio; sons, Walter Ewell Weakley of Fort Worth, William Harvey Weakley of Edna and Thomas Earl Weakley of San Antonio; sisters, Ruth Goynes of Trinity and Emogene Southward of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Ewell F. Weakley; and parents.

Advocate News Service Palacios—Ewell F. Weakley, 79, of Palacios died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1910, in Houston, son of Earl and Emiley Roberts Weakley. A resident of Palacios since 1949, he was retired from Alcoa Aluminum. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Palacios Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Stacy Houser officiating. James E. White, 90, of Bay City, Texas, passed away September 25, 2015 in Katy, Texas. He was born November 4, 1924, in Ranger, Texas, to the late Ollie Seburne and Ollie Evelyn Ervin White. James graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Civil engineering and was an avid Longhorn fan. He was an active member of the Church of Christ serving as a Bible School Teacher, Deacon and Elder. James worked with the Bay City Boy Scouts, serving as a Scout Master and Den leader. He was a former member of the Bay City Kiwanis club, and a former board member of Peach Valley Christian camp. James retired from the Texas Department of Transportation, with over 30 years of service. He is survived by his sister, Mary Sue Vaughn; two daughters, Peggy Hughes and husband Steve, and Virginia Jones and husband Steve; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 61 years, Charline A. White; and son, James R. White. Peggy Ruth Bishop White, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep October 3, 2007. She has rejoined her husband of 44 years, Jack H. White, Sr. in eternal life. She was born October 28, 1925 in Iowa Park, Texas to the late Lucion Bernard Bishop and Jewell Opal Lamb Bishop Maxwell. While living near Plainview, Texas, her mother taught her to drive in a Model “A” Ford at the age of eight. She worked as secretary for Hoosier and Cramm Real Estate in Plainview, TX while attending Lippert’s Business College to become a legal secretary. She met Jack Hampton White and married him November 15, 1947. After traveling with a Sun Oil seismograph crew, they were transferred to the Markham Sun Oil Office. They spent 18 years in Markham before being transferred to Houston in 1970. After 19 years there, Mr. White retired and they returned to Markham. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Markham. Survivors include daughter Rhonda Fox & husband Greg of Sweeny, son Gary White & wife Patricia of Sugar Land; sisters Doris Wattenberger & husband Jimmy & Jo Ann Williams all of Ft. Worth; brothers Sonny Maxwell & wife Cindy of Pleasanton, TX and David Maxwell & wife Trudy of Sherman, TX; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. White, Sr. in 1991and son Jack H. White, Jr. in 2006. Walter William Wilkinson, Jr. 85, of Bay City died Wednesday, August 16, 1995 at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. He was born May 10, 1910 in Collegeport, Texas to parents, Walter William and Helen Lenora Gossett Wilkinson. He was educated in the local schools and graduated in 1929 from Jefferson Davis High School where he was on the Black Cat Football Team. He attended Schreiner Institute in Kerrville and the University of Texas. An Oil Lease Broker and engaged in farming, he was in the cattle business until World War II. He was in the Home Guard during World II, and was on duty at Matagorda after the 1942 Tidal Wave. A member of the Supreme Lodge of Slavonic Benevolent Order of Texas (S.P.J.S.T.) since 1938; the Matagorda County Co-op since 1946, and a Charter member of the Bay City Lions Club. On September 27, 1933 he married Marjorie Bruce at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, who preceded him in death on December 23, 1989. He was preceded in death by his father Walter William Wilkinson in 1968, his mother, Helen Lenora Gossett Wilkinson in 1987 and his brother, John Paul Wilkinson in 1957. He is survived by daughters, Jean W. Richardson of Bay City, and Helen W. Fitch of Corpus Christi. Granddaughters, Kathleen and Tim Kalinowski of Lewisville, Virginia and David Chapman of Van Vleck, Kelley and Ed Lewis and Elizabeth and Scott Jones of Corpus Christi. John Franklin “F. J.” “Bubba” Williams, 80, of Bay City passed away August 20, 2007. He was born December 30, 1926 in Bay City to the late Arter Preston and Jenny Pierce Williams. He was a lifelong resident of Bay City; foreman for CP&L for 40 years; a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He is survived by his wife Laverne Williams of Bay City; daughter Christeen McKissick & husband Kevin of Bay City; son Rusty Williams of Bay City; grandchildren Jennifer Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Kourtney McKissick and Karissa McKissick. Bettye Joyce Wilson, of West Columbia, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She fought a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, for over 20 years. Bettye was born on July 26, 1934, in Refugio, Texas, to Arthur and Martha Lee Martin. She was a long-time resident of West Columbia, Texas, graduating from Columbia High School as Salutatorian in the class of 1952. She was a member of Family Life Church, and spent many years serving in the church as a greeter, and giving to others. One of the highlights of her life was her trip to the Holy Land and being baptized in the Jordan River. Bettye was a strong prayer warrior and spent her life serving the Lord. She was loved and adored by many and will be greatly missed. Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Martha Lee Martin; her brother, James Martin; and nephew, Jim Wolf.
