Betty Jeane Smith
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Smith, age 2 weeks and 2 days, passed away Monday night in
Houston. Funeral services we held here in the home of A. Frick,
conducted by Rev. Kluck, pastor of the Methodist Church and assisted
by Rev. White of Palacios. The remains were carried to Hawley for
burial.

BLESSING - Funeral services for Carl Travis "Bubba" Smith Jr., 50,
of Blessing, will be held June 14, 2009. Graveside services will be
held at 34 p.m., Sunday, at the Palacios Cemetery.
Carl "Bubba" Smith was born Sept. 4, 1958, in Palacios, to Carl
Travis Smith Sr. and Jane Idell Sexton Smith. He passed away June
13, 2009, at the Palacios Healthcare Center.
He is survived by sister, Charlotte Saha and husband Marvin of El
Maton; aunt and uncle, Mary Ann and Carlton Sexton of Palacios;
nieces, Jane Saha and Kara Saha; and nephew, Greg and Rebecca Saha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Travis Smith Sr. and
Jane Idell Smith; and by his beloved Granny, Sarah Irene Sexton and
her husband Carl Douglas Sexton.

Doris Voorhies Smith
Doris Voorhies Smith, 74, of Brazoria
died December 19, 2002 at Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake
Jackson. She was born September 10, 1928 in Tioga, La. to the late
Guy and Katie Coburn McCormick. Doris was a resident of Brazoria
since 1976, a former resident of Lake Jackson, and she was a member
of the Baptist Church. She was a retired Secretary with Dow Chemical
in Freeport.
Survivors include: husband, Jasper Roy
Smith of Brazoria; sisters, her twin sister, Dorothy, Ivy G.
Harrison both of Pineville, La., and Jimmy Raye Moore of Shreveport,
La. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J. B. and Charles
Coburn.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday,
December 23, 2002, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry
Swift officiating. Interment will follow at
Hawley Cemetery in Blessing,
Texas.

Dwight Wayne Smith, 83, of Blessing passed away January 31, 2009.
He was born April 15, 1925 in Liberty, Ohio to the late Harvey and
Emma Vogelsong Smith. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a
retired Commercial Fisherman.
Survivors include: his wife, Helen Jean Smith of Blessing;

Jacob Smith, 85, of Bay City, are set for 2 p. m., Monday, Sept. 27,
1999 at Hawley Cemetery with Lawrence Gwin, Jr. officiating.
He died Thursday, Sept. 23 at his
residence following a lengthy illness. He was born December 12, 1914
in Belize to Robert and Lillian Racburn Smith.
He worked many years in the air
condition and refrigeration repair business.
Survivors include: wife, Alba Smith of
Bay City; children, Jimmy Smith of San Pedro, Honduras, Louis Smith
of New Orleans, LA., Dennis Smith of Renton, WA, Rosemary White and

of Bay City passed away April 19, 2008. She was born October 25,
1927 in Bronte, Texas to the late William Otha & Eva Lena Richardson
Lewis.

in death by her husband Ford Smith in 1980. Survivors include
daughter & son –in-law Pamela & Charles Davis of Longview; son and
daughter-in-law Randall & Brenda Smith of Bay City; sister Frances

Mrs. Mary Mosier Smith, relict of the
late John B. Smith, died at her home near Midfield yesterday and

Decedent was born in Callihan County,
Texas, November 7, 1853. She has been living in Matagorda County for
a number of years and had formed many strong attachments with the
people of her neighborhood.

Funeral services for Sammy Lee Smith,
"Big Rock", 76, of Bay City, will be held Thursday, December 14,
2006, at 11 a.m. at Tyree Chapel A.M.E. Church, Bay City, the Rev.
J. T. Garnett, pastor, and the Rev. K. W. Bree, eulogist. Burial
will follow at St. Mark Cemetery in Cedar Lane.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home
chapel.
He was born in Bay City, Texas, January 3, 1930, to Robert Smith and
Elnora Collins Smith, and passed away December 9, 2006, in Bay City.
Survivors include: one sister, Edna Cathey of San Antonio; six
nieces, Raybe Franklin, Jewel King, Eula Pruett, Shirley Cathey,
Donnye Stone and Bonnye Massey; and eight nephews, Ronnie, Sterling,
James, Bobby and Paul Cathey and Jackie, Michael and Jimmy Massey.
Also a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Ira Joe Edison, Frank Franklin, Robert
Franklin, Jr., Stevie Franklin and Chevis Wilcox.

Spencer Smith
(October 22, 1943 - August 15, 2007)
Robert Spencer
“Katfish” Smith was born October 22, 1943 in Bay City to Eugene
Clifford and Annie Jo Webb Smith. After living in Corpus Christi for
10 years, he returned to Bay City to care for his elderly father. He
was a longtime offshore fisherman, loved to play his guitar, sing,
fish, wheel & deal and hang out with his many friends and family who
will all miss him dearly.
He was preceded
in death by his loving mother in 2000 and grandson, Logan Smith in
2004. He is survived by his father Eugene Clifford “Gene” Smith;
three children Sheila Treybig of Bay City and her children Trey &
Tyler, Shane & Jennifer Smith of Van Vleck and their children Amber
& Lacy and Shannon & Lisa Smith of Corpus Christi & their children
Brooke & Dylan; and two brothers David Wayne Smith of Selkirk and
Larry Wayne Smith of Baytown.
Funeral service
will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2007 at the First United
Methodist Church in Bay City with Rev. Tom Morgan and Rev. Chris
Harrison officiating. Pallbearers include Teddy Anzaldua, Ernie
Borio, Clyde Davis, Jeff Dutcher, Kenny Griffin, Bob Henderson,
Ricky Ingram, Donald Kelly, Robert Kent, Jeff Mitchell, Roy Moffitt,
Paul Otis, Glenn Parks, Ernie Rogers, Steve Sliva, Bill Thurber,
Danny Wells, and D. K. Woods. The family will greet friends and
relatives from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Tommy Lee Smith, 71, of Clute, passed
away Tuesday, December 22, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Tommy was
born February 7, 1938, in Collegeport, Texas, to Melvin Roy and
Mabel Lee Christian Smith.
Tommy served in the Air Force, stationed in Germany, from 1957 to
1960. After receiving an honorable discharge he returned to
Matagorda County.
Tommy is preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Alfred Smith
and a sister Helen Francis Smith.
He is survived by: daughter, Karen Capak George (Wayne) of Midfield,
Texas; sons, Kurt Smith of Bay City, Texas and Todd Smith of La
Garto, Texas; brothers Jasper Roy Smith of Clute, Charlie Wayne
Smith (Helen) of Blessing, Texas, Frank Smith (Mary Ann) of Bay
City, Texas; sisters, Doris Bowen of Edna, Texas, Marylou Thurman of
Justin, Texas, Gail Helwig (AL) of Victoria, Texas and Joyce Cochran
(Charles) of Georgetown, Texas, nine grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am, January 2 at Blessing
Baptist Church.

Tonya Annette
Smith, 43, of Bay City passed away Thursday, January 26, 2006 at her
Residence. She was born February 28, 1962 in Bay City to Eugene
Hershall & Bobbie Elizabeth Byrd Sherry. Mrs. Smith was a life long
resident of Bay City and a Member of the Apostolic Pentecostal
Church.
Tonya is survived
by her husband: Gordon M. Smith of Bay City; daughter& son-in-law:
Natasha & Shane Sullivan of Bay City; son: Gordon W. Smith of Bay
City; sister & brother-in-law: Lynette & Rev. Tommy Taylor of
Brookshire; 1 grandchild: Kory Sullivan of Bay City; and parents:
Eugene & Bobbie Sherry of Bay City.
A Funeral Service
will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Apostolic
Pentecostal Church with Rev. Sam Starks officiating. Interment will
follow at Roselawn

Veronica
“Vicki” Smith, 59, went to be with her
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, March 16,
2011, surrounded by family and friends
at her home in Bay City, Texas.
She was born
on September 19, 1951, in Raymondville,
Texas, to the late Guy and Catherine
Baird.
Vicki
graduated from Palacios High School in
1969.
Vicki was a
dedicated employee for the United States
Postal Service for 31 years.
Vicki was a
devout Christian, mother, grandmother,
and friend who was faithful to God, and
all those she loved.
Vicki is
survived by: her children, daughter,
Melanie Bock and husband Allan, of Van
Vleck, Texas, daughter, Ginger Beyer and
husband Richard, of Markham, Texas, son,
Charles Smith, of Austin, Texas,
daughter, Misty Bryant and husband
Derick of Wadsworth, Texas;
grandchildren, Teran Casey, Madison
Simons, Tanner Casey, Emma Beyer, and
Kella Beyer; brothers, Guy Baird and
wife Becki, Larry Baird and wife Beth,
and Bill Quinn and wife Donna.
She is
preceded in death by her parents, Guy
Baird and Catherine Quinn and brother,
Douglas Baird.

were held Saturday March 19, 2011,
starting at 9:30 am with Divine Mercy
Chaplet and 10 am Mass at Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church, Bay City,
Texas.

up at Prosperity Bank in Vicki Smith’s
name to honor and bless the charities
she loved and cherished.
