Mrs. Dolly Sanford, 74, Buried Monday
In Hawley Cemetery
Mrs. Dolly Sanford, 74, who died
Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Curtis of
3216 Avenue J, was buried Monday afternoon in Hawley Cemetery in
Blessing.
Mrs. Sanford is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. C. W. Curtis and Mrs. Liella [Loula] Pickle of Bay
City; one son, Walter Sanford of Blessing; two sisters, Mrs. Fred
Huston of Palacios, and Mrs. Milo Staley of Garden City, Kansas, and
one brother, Harry Jones of Clinton, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held in the
Community Church at Blessing with the Rev. W. W. Hawthorne
officiating.
Matchett-Newman Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

Jess Lyle Sanford, 83, of Sargent passed away Wednesday, August 15,
2001 at his residence.
Jess was born on Nov. 22, 1917 in Nixa, Missouri, to parents Elery
Bowman and Anita Belle Corum Sanford.
He served in the army during WWII where he attained the rank of
Staff Sergeant. After the war he worked as an advolorum tax assessor
for Texas Eastern Gass Pipeline Co. for many years.
He was a member of the VFW Post 2412 of Sargent and was a long-time
member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Bay City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Billie Jean Boney
Sanford in 1996.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John Lyle and Andrea
Sanford of Seattle, Washington, Duane Marshall and Leslie Cox
Sanford of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Roseann and Gene Johnson
of Missouri City; and sister, Nora Britain of Kansas City, Kansas.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Micah Vance Johnson, David
Gene Sanford Johnson, Aaron Marshall Johnson, Donna Marie
Johnson-Lewis and Nathaniel Finn Sanford, and two great
grandchildren.
A visitation with the family was held at Bay City Funeral Home on
Friday, August 17 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25 at
the St. Paul's Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Morgan and the
Rev. Bill Haskell officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Gene Britain, Arnold Romberg, Hugh William
Strickland, Michael Strickland, William Joseph Luder, III, Jerry
Edens, Micah Vance Johnson and David Gene Sanford Johnson. The
family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul's United
Methodist Church, 3102 5th Street in Bay City.

Billie Jean Boney Sanford
Funeral services for Billie Jean Boney Sanford will be Tuesday,
Sept. 10 at 3 p. m. from St. Paul’s Methodist Church with burial in
Cedarvale Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. Grady
Hollonquist, Rev. John Hassler, Rev. Bill Haskell, and Rev.
Elizabeth Moreau. Pallbearers are H. William Strickland, Jr.,
Michael D. Strickland, William J. Luder III, Jerry R. Edens, Dr.
Arnold Romberg, John H. Sherrer, Robert E. Britain and Micah V.
Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Charles McCarver, Travis Budlong,
William Russell, Leon Stickney, Harry Cupples, Bill Templeton, Bob
Hanzen, Norman Hartman, Ray Taggart, Jack Barnhill, Bert Charles,

Born in Houston, Texas on January 23, 1922, to William Marshall and
Lucille Cullen Boney at Baptist Memorial Hospital. After the death
of her father in 1925, she went to live with her father’s sister,
Rose Boney Williams and her Uncle John Alvin Williams in Bay City,
Texas. Lucille Boney died of cancer in 1930. Billie Jean attended
school in Bay City, graduating from Bay City High School in 1940.
While in high school, she was a member of Keye’s Cadets, the Drum
and Bugle Corp. and the volleyball and basketball teams. In 1944,
she graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in
journalism and next attended Officer’s training school at Smith
College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She was commissioner as an
ensign in the W. A. V. E. S. and served on the Pacific coast from
August 1944 to December 1945, when she received and honorable
discharge as a Lt. (j. g.). On May 3, 1945, she married Jess Lyle
Sanford, a sergeant in the United States Army. Both were discharged
from the service in 1945.
Billie Jean was active in church affairs of West University
Methodist church in Houston and served as youth director there. She
was also active in St. Paul’s Methodist church in Bay City, Texas.
The last few years have been spent in retirement on Caney Creek in
Sargent, Texas. She was an active member of the Sargent Voluntary
Fire and Rescue, V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 2412, the Sargent
Family Community Education Club, the Fun Club, and the Matagorda
County Historical Society and the Matagorda Co. Museum Association.
She is survived by her husband, Jess Lyle Sanford, her three
children: Roseann Sanford Johnson of Lake Jackson, Texas, John Lyle
Sanford of Washington, D. C., and Duane Marshall Sanford of Austin,
Texas; four grandchildren: Micah Vance Johnson, David Gene Sanford
Johnson, Aaron Marshall Johnson, Donna Marie Johnson; one sister,
Carmen Lucille Boney Luder, one son-in-law, Jesse Eugene Johnson III
(Gene), one daughter-in-law, and Gates Sanford and one
brother-in-law, Hugh W. Strickland. She is also survived by a host
of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Sylvia Boney Strickland, her
parents, and her beloved Aunt Rose and Uncle “Bounce” Williams.
Remembrances may be made to St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Bay City,
Texas, 3102 Fifth Street, 77414.

Mrs. Sanford Dies in Palacios
Mrs. Odile Logan Sanford, 74, of Blessing passed away at Wagner
General Hospital in Palacios Monday.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday at the First
Presbyterian Church in Palacios with Rev. Das Kelly Barnett and Rev.
Richard Stone officiating. Interment will be in
Hawley Cemetery.
She was a resident of Blessing for 60 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Trull of Palacios; a
son, Walter Sanford of Blessing; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Montgomery
of Brazoria, and Mrs. Florence McKinney of San Antonio; four
brothers, Bert Logan of Blessing, Victor and John Logan of San
Antonio, and Burns Logan of Houston.

Funeral services for Walter Allen
Sanford Sr., 59, of Blessing were held last Thursday from Taylor
Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. A. C. Maxted officiating. Mr.
Sanford died July 26 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Odile
Sanford; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Williams of Blessing; one son,
Walter A. Sanford Jr. of Houston; one grandson, Ronnie Williams of
Blessing; two sisters, Mrs. Loula Pickel and Mrs. Fay Curtis of Bay
City.
Active pallbearers were Avon Harter,
Bert Logan, Norman Brotemarkle, Bob Trull, Dick Powell, and C. G.
Jeffers.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert
Rickaway, L. C. Cornelius, A. E. Schulte, Abner Ussery, Hamilton

He was born Sept. 25, 1958 in Bay City, Texas to the late William
and Patsy Sansing.

Stevie Sansing & Megan Sansing both of Missouri; sons Tim of Austin

Private

Sardelich, 44, of Brazoria, Tx. and formerly of Palacios.
Mr. Sardelich was born Sept. 27, 1964 in Corpus Christi, Tx. to John
Carroll Sardelich and Betty Tanner Sardelich. He passed away March
17, 2009.
He grew up in Palacios and attended Palacios High School.He was a
hard working man all of his life and loved spending time fishing
with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Knebel Sardelich of Brazoria;
his children Jaren Sardelich, Jaxen Sardelich, Jaden Sardelich,
Sydney Matthys and Jacob Hoffman; father John Sardelich of Palacios;
mother Betty Hart and husband Bruce of Palacios; in-laws Adolph and
Heidi Knebel of West Columbia, Tx., and Shirley and Richard Barnes
of Weimer, Tx.; sister Joan Kocurek and her husband Wayne of

Judy Kay Sardelich-Tedens, 46, of
Markham passed away July 26, 2011. She was born July 25, 1965 in
McAllen, TX to Leonard Ray Kelley & Frankie Marie Quinn Kelley.
She was preceded in death by her father.

JOHN SAUCERMAN JR.
SWEENY -
John Saucerman Jr., age 84, of
Sweeny, formerly of Deer Park, passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010,
at home following an extended illness. He was born on May 5, 1926,
in Kansas City, Kan., a son of the late John Homer Saucerman Sr. and
Elnora Birmingham Saucerman.
John grew up in Kansas City where he graduated high school and then
earned an associate's degree in business. He served his country in
the
United States Navy during
World War II. He was a member of the Holy
Cross Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Bay City. He
married Margaret Ann Saucerman on Oct. 16, 1973 and she preceded him
in death on Aug. 28, 2004. John worked as a project engineer for
Phillips Petroleum. John enjoyed fishing and being involved with the
Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed coaching girls softball in his
younger years.
A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Aug. 11,
2010, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at the chapel of the
Wharton Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home
with Father George Kunnath officiating. Burial will follow in the
Wharton City Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters, Cathy O'Connell Weathers and
husband Larry Wayne of Cedar Lane, Debbie McCoslin and husband
Ernest of Sealy, Diane Bartlett of Sealy, and Denise Saucerman of
Nashville, Tenn.; son, Dennis Saucerman and wife Jan of Nashville,
Tenn.; sister, Kay Rasmussen and husband Bob of Lees Summit, Mo.;
brother, Dave Saucerman and wife Beverly of Kansas City, Kan.; and

Port Lavaca. She was born March 5, 1925 in Troy, Ohio to the late
Lola McNamara Jaynes & William B. Jaynes. Mrs. Saunders was a
resident of Palacios for many years. A Graveside Service will be

Greenberry Gustavos Savage
Jr.
Greenberry Gustavos Savage Jr., 89,
formerly of Bay City, died April 23, 2009 while a resident under the
thoughtful care of Needville's S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home. Born April 2,
1920 to Greenberry Gustavos and Jennie Savage in Clemville, he
worked and retired as an electrician from Texas Gulf Sulphur in
Newgulf.
He and his wife, Mary, owned and
operated the Miss Mary shrimp boat out of Matagorda for many years.
As members of Bay City's Fraternal Order of Eagles, the couple
volunteered countless hours working for the organization's numerous
charitable projects.
Known for his love of fishing he is
survived by his family, Jennifer and Ray Rolf of Wharton, Rick and
Peggy Savage of Yorktown, Dee and Bob Connors of Sugar Land and
Sandy Savage of Bay City; grandchildren, Michael and Kelli Rolf,
Steven and Kimberly Rolf and Jenny and Wyatt Ernest, all of Wharton,
Trey Savage and Adam Connors, both of Houston, Chris and Jennifer
Auer of West Columbia, David and Linda Wilson of Palacios and
Cynthia and Tim Harriston of Bay City; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Savage was preceded in death by his
loving wife, Mary; grandson, Richard Savage; and sister Carmen
Lockwood.
A commemorative service will be held at

Wednesday, January 12, 2005.
Mary was born in Kuttawa,
Kentucky, July 25, 1924.
Mary
attended high school in Kuttawa,
Kentucky, where she was a high
school cheerleader. She also
attended beauty college in
Houston.
Mary
was a long-term resident of Bay
City, Texas, where she owned and
operated beauty salons for many
years.
She
and her husband, G. G. Savage,
Jr., also owned and operated the
Miss Mary Shrimp boat out of
Matagorda until two years ago.
Mary
was a lifetime member of the Bay
City VFW and for many years an
active member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles Ladies
Auxiliary. In the Ladies
Auxiliary, Mary held many
offices throughout her
membership.
Mary
often talked about the things
she enjoyed most in life, fixing
hair and helping kids get a good
start in life. Her home was
often filled with her children,
grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and friends.
Among many things, Mary will be
remembered for her warmth, her
smile, her energy, her charity
work and her great cooking.

Muriel Posey Savage, longtime resident
of Markham, was reunited with her heavenly father on April 5, 2009.
She was born November 23, 1920 in Clemville, Texas to Isaac Benton
and Lora Walker Posey. She married Charles Vincent Savage on
September 11, 1935 in Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, two
brothers, Marcus Lee and James Robert Posey; four sisters, Annie
Mary Sparks, Edith Mallard, Beulah Wernly and Lorene Harvey; great
grandson, Anthony Wesley Duncan, son-in-law: Daniel Allen Dabelgott
and niece: Sandra Lee Posey.
She is survived by: her seven children, Danny Lee, Lora Jo, David
Vincent, Bonita Carol, John Paul, Teresa Ann and Mark Shannon; four
sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Sumbs, Mary Rose, Joe Cole, and Lula
Kelley; 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 25 great-great

Fabrygel Savage, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Taylor

Schafer
died at her residence Aug. 20. She was born June 24, 1958 in Keokuk,
Iowa to George M. and Marion I. Duncan Schafer.
She is
survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy Lee and Lisa Ann
Tate, Lonie Joe and Melissa Christine Tate all of Bay City;
daughter, Dawnell Marie Wheaton of Bay City, parents George M. and
Marion L. Schafer of Blessing; two brothers, Ben Schafer of Bay
City, and Lloyd Schafer of Blessing; two sisters, Bonnie Sheffler of
Kahoka, MO., and Orel Schafer of Blessing; two grandchildren,
Michael Thomas Tate and Thomas Joe Tate both of Bay City; three

and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a
sister, Lorel Bee Rodriguez on Sept. 22, 1982.

Scherer.

Patsy Anne
Scherer passed away January 30, 2002. Pat was born in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 20, 1931 to James Cecil
Hybarger and Agnes Marie Selsor Hybarger. Patsy, a Native
American, was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
She moved to Houston, Texas in
early childhood and attended Jefferson Davis High School;
Wharton Jr. College and Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth,
Texas. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Houston Area and
lived in Porter, Texas until retirement at which time she
relocated with her husband to Cape Carancahua in Jackson
County, Texas. While at the Cape she was active in the Lady
Capers as well as volunteer at Blessing Library, and
attended the Carancahua Community Church. Patsy loved a good
mystery; sewing; crafts, and baking for her family.
Her parents, James Hybarger and
Agnes Stricklin; her sisters Mary Jeanne Hybarger and Artha
Lee Lewis preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of
34 years, Howard Lee Scherer, Jr.; one sister, Vivian

RAMONA SCHILHAB
BAY CITY - For several years Ramona Schilhab
and cancer ran a tight race, even with the added challenge of
multiple sclerosis, and she lost the race Dec. 13, 2010. But she did
win because now she is free to walk and run. Ramona was born May 22,
1957 in El Campo to Alvin and Eldrid Besetsny Schilhab. She
graduated from El Campo High School and graduated from the
University of Houston. She worked several years in the oil and gas
industry until multiple sclerosis made it impossible to continue.
She was a talented cook and loved gardening.
She is survived by her loving family: her mother, Eldrid Schilhab;
sisters, Carlene Jackson and husband James Elzner, Christine Ward
and husband John, Teresa Bolton and husband Toby, Patty Tufro and
husband Gerald; brother, Lonnie Schilhab and wife Teresa; nephews,
Coby and Blake Bolton, Matthew and Luke Schilhab; and good friend,
Boriana Gurueva.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Schilhab; maternal
grandparents, Beno and Agnes Besetsny; and paternal grandparents,
Albert and Wilhemina Schilhab.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Holy
Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek, celebrant. Burial
will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
The recitation of the holy rosary will be 7 p.m. tonight at Taylor
Bros. Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. at the funeral
home.

EILEEN JUNEK SCHILLING
HOUSTON - In November of 2005 Eileen
Junek Schilling, 61, of Houston, began her brave and fearless battle
with cancer. It was not long before her family and friends realized
her angel wings had begun to grow and she was destined to become one
of God's angels. On Sunday, April 6, 2008 her angel wings were
fully-grown and our good Lord above called her home.
Eileen was born on July 20, 1946, in Bay City, to the late Edwin and
Willie Junek of El Maton.
Survivors include her husband, Dan
Schilling; stepson, Jason Schilling; and her two loving puppies,
Princess and Badger. Eileen was from a large close-knit family of
four sisters, three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Siblings are: Wilma McDonald (Bryan) of Bay City, Gloria Bales
(Robert) of Hunt, Cynthia Dujka (Scott) of Bay City, Gail Perkins
(Ted) of Palacios, Edwin Junek Jr. (Robin) of Pasadena, George Junek
and Charlie Junek of El Maton. Nieces and nephews are: Coy McDonald
(Donna), Keith McDonald (Lori), Kym Chambliss (Cory), Robin Peters,
Aaron Bales (Becky), Nicholas Bales, Kristi Dujka (Gene), Mandi
Dujka (Sean), Danny Dujka (Becca), Todd, Blake and Nathan Perkins,
Adam Adams, Justin Marshal, and Tanner Junek; Great-nieces and
nephews are: Sarah, Bryanna, Madison and Makenzi McDonald, Mallory,
Camille and Cassidy Chambliss, Michael and James McDonald, Sarah and
Leah Peters, Aiden Bales, Braylen Tieken, and Saige Byars. Close
friends are: Dick and Becky Humalainen, Tony and Angie Perez, and
Mildred Hunt.

Funeral
services for Lillie Lorine Schmersahl, age 72, will be held 2 p. m.
Nov. 2 in the chapel of Taylor Brother’s Funeral Home. She will be
laid to rest in Hawley Cemetery near Blessing. Lillie Lorine
Schmersahl passed from this earthly life on Friday, Oct. 31 to join
the angels in heaven and to meet our almighty and merciful God.
Lorine
was born on Feb. 4, 1925 in La Ward, Texas to Robert Ruben and
Nettie May [Mae] Carvell Joines. Lorine was baptized into Christ as
a young woman in the Francitas River [East Caranchua Creek]. From
that day forward she was faithful to her Lord. She was a long
standing member of the Sweeny Church of Christ. She worked at J. C.
Penny’s for years until she married Lewis John Schmersahl on July
22, 1952. They started their family of three starting in Bay City
and soon thereafter, in Old Ocean and finally, Sweeny.
Lorine
leaves behind her loving husband, Lewis John Schmersahl, two
daughters, Brenda Wright of Bay City and Linda Northcutt of League
City, and a son, Don Schmersahl of Van Vleck, and a sister, Margaret
Richardson of Bay City; also six well loved grandchildren, Don and
Barbie Schmersahl, Robert and Ashley Northcutt, and Dana and Chelsey
Wright.
Pallbearers are D. Ray Alford, David Carr, Roland Ingram, Robert
Lynch, Mark Johnson and Don Doleazlek. Honorary pallbearers are

Joyce Schmoker, 67, of Van Vleck passed
away May 1, 2010. She was born April 16, 1943 in Vernon, TX to H. O.
and Mildred Lankston. She recently retired from Bay Villa Health
Care Center in Bay City where she worked in the administration
office.
Survivors include her mother Mildred
Lankston of Arlington, TX; her companion Wayne Guynes of Blessing;
daughters Brenda Logsdon & husband Guy of Vernon, TX and Lori
Boydston & husband Danny of Wichita Falls, TX; son Ricky Schmoker &
wife Paula of Yukon, OK; brothers R. C. Lankston of Arlington,

Robert “Bobby”
Schneider, 76, of Palacios passed away September 11, 2005 at Gulf
Coast Medical Center in Wharton. He was born January 12, 1929 in
Needville, TX to Robert and Valasta Baca Schneider. He had been a
resident of Palacios for 53 years; member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club;
member of Palacios Trail Riders Association; and a U.S. Army veteran
of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived
by: his wife, Margaret “Margie” Jakubec Schneider of Palacios; by
five sons and four daughters-in-law: Robert “Tiger” Schneider, Jr.
of Palacios, Randy and Teresa Schneider of Victoria, Russell and Jan
Schneider of Palacios, Ray and Darlene Schneider of Bay City and
Ronnie and Kelly Schneider of Palacios; by one sister, Madelline
“Matsy” Schultz of Edna; and by 15 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters,
Willie Mae Horlicia and Noni Stavinoha, and two brothers, Elo and
Alvin Schneider.

Edwina “Peggy”
Schraub, 66, of Bay City passed away Jul 5, 1995 at Vencor Hospital
in Houston. She was born November 12, 1928 to Edwin and Helen
Mgebroff Schroeder in Brenham, Texas.
She graduated
from Brenham High School and attended Texas Lutheran College. She
married Orlando Schraub on June 26, 1949 in Brenham. She was an
attendance clerk for many years with the Bay City ISD. She was an
active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Rebecca Circle.
She is survived
by her husband, Orlando Schraub of Bay City; one daughter and
son-in-law, Cindy and Stuart Johnson of Blessing; one son and
daughter-in-law, Craig and Nancy Schraub of Katy, Texas; her mother,
Helen Schroeder of Fredericksburg; one brother, Ed Schroeder of
Virginia; five grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Jamie Johnson,
Jessica Schraub, Jake Johnson, and Michael Schraub. She was preceded
in death by her father, Edwin Schroeder and a granddaughter, Julie

Forrest
James Schulte
Forrest James Schulte, age 61, died
March 28 at Wagner General Hospital in Palacios.
He was born in Hallettsville, Tx., on
January 2, 1921.
A member of the First United Methodist
Church of Palacios, he leaves behind numerous survivors including
wife, Loucile; two daughters, Sandra Gillett and Deborah Matusek;
one son, Travis; five sisters, Tharesa Spies, Mary Lee Potts,
Elizabeth Marek, Lillie Starcich, and Annie Pargac; three brothers,
Bill, Benjamin and Al; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday March
29 at 2 p. m. in the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend
Barry Bauerschlag officiating.
Interment was at
Hawley Cemetery.

Loucile Mary Schulte
February 07, 1921 - December 18, 2019
Loucile Mary White was born February 7, 1921, to
Byron White and Adele (Erwin) White in Aransas Pass, Texas, where
she grew up and attended school. She met her husband, Forrest James
Schulte, at a local dance.
Loucile and Forrest married on December 2,
1941. Forrest joined the Army Airforce after the bombing of Pearl
Harbor just five days later. Loucile lived with her parents in
Aransas Pass while Forrest served overseas during World War II.
Before Forrest returned from the war, she gave birth to their first
child, a still-born son.
After the war, Loucile and Forrest settled down
in several places during their marriage: Schulenberg, Corpus
Christi, Palacios, then Hallettsville, and finally back to Palacios,
Texas, where she resided until 2006. The couple raised two daughters
and one son. Loucile worked as a bookkeeper for several companies,
finishing her bookkeeping career with the Palacios Independent
School District. Loucile, devoted to family, was a hard-working and
loving wife and mother. She loved her Lord, Jesus. She belonged to
the First Methodist Churches of Aransas Pass, Hallettsville, and
then Palacios. Loucile joined the First Baptist Church of Palacios
after Forrest’s death where she counted the offering on Sunday
mornings. She was always fastidious about her appearance and the
appearance of her modest home. After suffering a mini-stroke in
2006, Loucile moved to a small apartment in Victoria, Texas, near
her daughter, Sandie. Suffering more mini-strokes, she moved to an
assisted living facility in Victoria and, then in North Richland
Hills. After another series of mini-stokes, Loucile moved to the
Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Victoria. When Sandra
moved to Arizona in 2016, Loucile was moved to the Texas Nursing and
Rehabilitation home in Gonzales, Texas, where she went to be with
her Lord on December 18, 2019.
Loucile was preceded in death by her first child,
Byron James Schulte, by her husband, Forrest, by her parents, Adele
and Byron White, and by her three brothers, Winston White of Aransas
Pass, Texas, Earl White of Harlingen, Texas, and Alvin White of
Kingwood, Texas.
Loucile is survived by her three children:
Sandra Lynn Gillett of Gonzales, Texas; Deborah Eileen Matusek of
Edna, Texas; and Travis Wayne Schulte of North Richland Hills,
Texas. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Kellie Matusek
Warren, Tracy Wayne Gillett, Christa Schulte Hayne, Jamie Matusek,
Stephanie Gillett Gomez, Leslie Matusek Kubecka, Travis Wayne
Schulte, Jr. and Robert Laddie Matusek. Loucile also is survived by
16 great-grandchildren: Ashton Rebbecca, Audrey Maxine, and Adelynn
Christine Corporon (Kellie Matusek Warren); Thomas Colden and
Cortlyn Christine Gillett (Tracy Gillett); Emma Gayle and Sydney
Grey Haynie (Christa Schulte Haynie); Kelton Klemcke (Jamie Matusek);
Dane Edward, Chase Stewart, and Madeline Elena Gomez (Stephanie
Gillett Gomez); Kade Grady and Madison Nicole Kubecka (Leslie
Matusek Kubecka); Hudson Forrest, Rhett Asher, and Bethany James
Matusek (Robert Matusek).
She is not gone; just away, but will reside in
our hearts forever!

Beloved
husband and father, Tommy Schultz, 83, of Palacios, Tx. passed away
Aug. 11, 2010.
Graveside services were held Aug. 16, 2010 at the Palacios Cemetery

Mr. Schultz was born June 25, 1927 in Houston, Tx. to the late Tom
Awalt and Bertie Lee Thompson Schultz.
He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII as a Seaman 1st Class
on the USS Maryland. He was a devoted member of Caranachua
Community Church; member and past-president of Good Sam Club; member
and past-president of Telephone Pioneers; and a former Little League
Softball coach in Houston. He was a marketing manager for
Southwestern Bell working in Houston for 22 years and retiring in
San Antonio in 1985 after a total of 37 years.
He is survived by his wife Jerry Schultz of Palacios; daughters
Karen Hadaway and husband Ray of Iola, Tx. and Tess Flores and
husband Steve of Palacios; son Ron Schultz of Palacios; sister
Maurine Bauer of Cypress, Tx.; grandchildren Shannon Bullard, Tony
Hadaway and wife Meredith, Reagan Hadaway, Amanda Schultz, Gordon
Schultz, Lauren Flores-Morales and husband Adrian, and Kimberlee
Flores; great-grandchildren Marshall Palmer, Nolan Palmer and
Natalie Hadaway; and many nieces, nephews other family members and
friends. He also leaves behind his beloved cat “Sheba”.

Albert G. Pete Schulze, 95, of Markham,
Texas, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Bay City.
He was born March 24, 1914 in Clemville, Texas to Gus Louis Schulze
and Annie Rickaway Schulze. He married Leona Strack of Plainview, on
November 17, 1938, at Trinity Lutheran Church of El Campo and they
recently celebrated their 70th Wedding anniversary.
Pete just turned 95 in March. He worked in the oil fields around
Clemville and retired from Griffin Well Service in 1979. Pete was a
member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church of Bay City, where he and
Leona were Charter Members, he was a lifelong resident of Matagorda
County and his hobby was mowing his yard and keeping his yard clean.
He is survived by: his wife, Leona Strack Schulze of Markham; and by
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; by sisters, Selma Hoffman
and Clara Pruess; his brother, Alfred Schulze; and his nephews,
Henry Hoffman and Albert Hoffman.
The family will receive visitors from 6 until 7 p.m. Monday at the
funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at
Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Pastor Jared Stillions
officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in El
Campo.
Pallbearers will be Robert G. Hoffman, Randy L. Hoffman, Albert G.
Hoffman, Charles Frick, Cody Frick and Geren Roecker.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Schulze, Stanley McMillan, Jesse
Ellis, Gus Hoffman, Wilbur Hoffman, Shannon Hoffman, Alfred Schulze,
Jr., James Cowger and Charlie Krampitz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Petes memory to St.
Peter Lutheran Church, 1909 Peach St., Bay City, TX 77414.

Waymond
Schulze
Waymond Julius
Schulze, age 81, of Boling, died Monday morning, May 25, 2009 at
home following a lengthy illness. He was born on Dec. 6, 1927 in
Matagorda County, the son of the late Julius Schulze and Ida
Zbitowsky.
Mr. Schulze
was a resident of Newgulf and Boling for the past 44 years and was a
member of First Baptist Church in Boling. He married Lillian Maurine
Hamilton on June 16, 1951 in Wharton. She preceded him in death on
Jan. 25, 2008. Mr. Schulze was a tank car loader and dozer operator
for Texas Gulf Sulphur Company. He and his wife operated the Dairy
Mart in Newgulf and later built and operated the Dairy Mart in
Boling from 1969 until 1975.
Mr. Schulze
retired from Texas Gulf in January of 1983 and spent many years
working in his garden and wood working shop.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Betty Ann Wittig in
1985; sisters, Lena Baklik and Annie Cada; and brothers, Raymond
Schulze and Victor Schulze; and great-grandson, Jake Allen Wittig.
Friends may
call for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 27, 2009
at Wharton Funeral Home.
Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May, 28, 2009 at Wharton
Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Phill Parks officiating. Burial
will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
Survivors
include daughter, Lillian Marie Spacek of Boling; son and daughter-inlaw,
Waymond E. and Cindy Schulze of Needville; sisters, Lillie Westfahl
of El Campo and Mildred Mach of Boling; brother, Alvin Schulze of
Wharton; grandchildren and spouses, Theresa and Adam Arvello, Glenn
Wittig, Daniel and Tiffany Wittig, Stephanie and Don Tower, Bruce
Wittig, Melissa and Keith Kostelnik, Keith and Kim Wittig and Amanda
Schulze; greatgrandchildren, Kayla, Rachel and Ethan Tower, Bradley
and Kaitlyn Kostelnik and Alex Arvello and Aubrey Matula; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers
are Glenn Wittig, Daniel Wittig, Bruce Wittig, Keith Wittig, Adam
Arvello and Don Tower.
Honorary
pallbearers are Keith Kostelnik, Bradley Kostelnik, Ethan Tower,
Alex Arvello, Jake Allen Wittig; caregivers, Shirley and Frances,
nurses and staff of Odyssey Health Care; and all his many friends
and family.
In lieu of
usual remembrances the family requests memorials to Odyssey Health

church or charity of personal choice.
