Benito Ramos Benito Ramos Funeral Services for Benito Ramos, 82, were to be at 2 pm Monday, Dec. 20, 1999 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Boren officiating. Interment followed Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck. Mr. Ramos died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 in Bay City. He was born March 21, 1917 in Runge, Texas to Mike and Dolores Garza Ramos. He is survived by: wife, Mary Valdez Ramos of Wadsworth; son, Joe Castaneda of Wadsworth; sisters, Guadalupe Ramos and Maria Montalvo; brothers, Anestosio Ramos, Ray Ramos, and Manuel Ramos; and 35 grandchildren. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Ella Lillian Ready Services will be held for Mrs. Ella Lillian Ready, 79, of Bay City, 3 pm Friday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Chapel. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Charles Sonnier. Ready died December 1, 1982 at her residence. Survivors include daughters, Vivian Shaenfield of San Antonio, Lillian Spalek and Edith Byrd both of Bay City; sons, Tommy Ready of Longview, Donald Ready of Seabrook, John Ready of Victoria; sisters, Nell Ready of Freeport, Ruth Sherrer of Eagle Lake, Nita Crittendon and Frances Dove both of Bay City; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Ready has been a resident of Bay City for 53 years. Burial will follow funeral services at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include John R. Anthis Jr., Larry Spalek, James Byrd III, Donald Ready Jr., John Ready Jr., Mark Ready, Daryl and Dan Ready and Dale Scoggins. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Funeral Services Held Sunday For J. A. Rice John Allen Rice, 85 years, passed away at his home Saturday night at 7 o’clock after an illness of some duration. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tena Rice; four daughters, Mrs. R. O. Brannon, Mrs. Henry Gainer, Mrs. Willie Montgomery, and Miss Mary Lou Rice; five sons, W. A., T. A., J. J., J. N., and N. H. Rice. Funeral services were held from the Walker-Matchett Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock with the Rev. Metcalfe of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Pat Carney, J. B. Cole, M. L. Underwood, P. A. McLendon, C. M. Bachman, and L. E. Knowles. Matagorda County Tribune, October 10, 1940 Funeral Services Are Held For Mrs. Tena Rice Funeral services for Mrs. Tena Rice, wife of the late John Allen Rice, were held at the Walker-Matchett Funeral Home and burial was in the Cedarvale Cemetery with the Rev. Adrian Roscoe Rooth Funeral services for Adrian Roscoe Rooth, 60, of Angleton, will be held 1 p. m. Saturday at Palms Chapel of the Roses in Angleton with Brother Carroll Grigsby officiating. Graveside services will be held 3 p. m. at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Friends may call from 11 a. m. to 9 p. m. Friday at the Palms Funeral Home. Mr. Rooth was born Nov. 13, 1910, in Midfield and died Sept. 25 at the Angleton-Danbury Hospital. Formerly of Matagorda County, he was a retired rice farmer, a retired serviceman for Groendyke Truck Company and a member of the Odd Fellows in Angleton. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Rooth of Angleton; son, Robert Rooth of Hemphill; brother, Oscar Rooth of Bay City; two sisters, Lois Heath of Waller and Helen Orchard of Kingsville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are William Ramon Rooth, Donald Robert Rooth and Ronald Dexter Rooth. Honorary pallbearers are the Angleton Order of the Odd Fellows. Arrangements are by the Palms Funeral Home Angleton.
