Antonio “Tony” Rojas Jr.

April 25, 1954 – December 9, 2024

Antonio “Tony” Rojas, Jr., 70, of San Antonio, Texas, passed through the gates of Heaven on December 9, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He was born to parents Antonio and Delia Rojas on April 25, 1954 in Newgulf, Texas. Tony was raised in Palacios, Texas along with his six siblings, Mary, Debbie, Terry, Cindy, Leroy, and Faustino. At an early age, Tony began working on shrimp boats and helping run his father’s grocery store alongside some of his lifelong friends. After high school, he began his career in the oil industry with Halliburton.

He married the love of his life, Helen Falcon, in 1975, who survives him. Tony is also survived by daughter Holly Rojas, and wife Vanessa, son Matt Rojas, and wife Katie. Tony was a wonderful “Popo” to five grandchildren, Cameron Villela and husband Steven, Raya Kolysko, Averi Kolysko, Esmee Rojas, and Elliott Rojas, and one great-grandchild, Brody Villela, all of San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by parents Antonio and Delia Rojas, and sister Cindy Rodriguez.

Tony was known for his love of horses, riding and training them in his younger years. During his off weeks from Halliburton, he worked on a cattle ranch for fun. He shared his love for horses with his children, teaching them how to ride. Tony was a devoted friend, husband, father, and Popo. He was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church of El Campo, Texas then continued his faith at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. One way he led with a servant’s heart was by giving the gift of life as a lifelong blood donor. He was a blessing to his family, friends, and neighbors by always putting others first and being the first to lend a helping hand, a legacy that will continue through all of those that he blessed.

A rosary service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 6 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo, Texas. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, with burial immediately following at Holy Cross Memorial Park in El Campo, Texas.
