Richardson, her daughter, Joyce Gayle Walker and her great grandson, Logan Redd Carroll. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughters Wanda Redd and Patty Wright (Dale); granddaughters Tricia Marks (Andy), Angie Carrol (John), Amy Redd, Marie Wright, Sara Wright and Amanda Meadows (Adam); great grandchildren Ashley Carroll, Ryan and Nick Jenkins, Kyler Wright, Addison and Adam Meadows and Kendall Marks; great-great granddaughters Evelyn Jane and soon to be born Nora Grace. She also gave months of care and shelter for her Hurricane Harvey refugee grand cat, Hazel. Bessie married Kenneth Joyce Richardson on January 11, 1949. They lived and raised their three daughters in Hasema. They were married 53 years. Bessie's working career included being a mother, a cafeteria manager and the high school librarian at Van Vleck ISD. Nana loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was the best Mom ever and provided Gayle, Wanda and Patty with everything they needed. She instilled in them Christian values, a strong work ethic and a love for God. As cafeteria manager she always made sure everyone had plenty to eat and even gave extra servings to the kids. She loved ALL the kids at school and cared dearly about them and their lives. Being the VVHS librarian allowed her to continue loving and caring for the kids in Van Vleck. Three things were important to Bessie: her Faith, her Family and her Friends. She was a wonderful cook, making pound cakes by the hundreds. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved music, especially “Asleep at the Wheel.” She was an encourager, a prayer warrior and always had a listening ear for anyone that needed her. She was the best hug-giving, blanket-making, card and domino-playing, church-going, kitchen-dancing, FOX News-watching, card-sending person there ever was. Nana was so proud of her family. Her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and her great-great grandkids were her heart and joy. She was interested in everything they did, called them often and prayed for them daily. She is finally home and at peace with her Lord and Savior and her family and friends who went before her. And so the story goes on until we see our Mom and Nana again. We love and miss you, Mom. 10,000 Visitation will be at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas on Tuesday, October 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
