Diane Lynn Nall

(January 30, 1956 - May 28, 2013)

Diane Lynn Nall, 57, of Bay City passed away May 28, 2013. She was born January 30, 1956 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Emmitt McKenzie and Coussie Faye Woods McKenzie.

Survivors include her husband Tim Nall of Bay City; daughter Amber Nall of Bay City; son Wesley Nall of Bay City; brother Mike McKenzie of Washington State and one grandson Johnathan Nall.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Chapel with Rev. Chester Sassman. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Maria G. Naranjo

(August 5, 1932 - June 9, 2013)

Maria G. Naranjo, 80, of Markham went to her eternal rest on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Maria was born on August 5, 1932 in Taft, Texas to the late Manuel and Catarina Barron Gutierrez. Maria was a very loving, nurturing and devoted mother. She loved to cook for her family. Maria’s faith and relationship with God were very important to her.

Maria is survived by her loving family, son, Luis Naranjo & wife Marie, daughter, Petra Lule & husband Mario Lule, Maria Socoro Naranjo, Laura Huerta, Mary Alice Guzman; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Amelia Copado & Paz Naranjo, and numerous other nieces, nephews and loving family members. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, husband Juan Naranjo; two sons, Juan L. Naranjo, Jr. and Robert Naranjo.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Simplemente Jesus Pentecostal Church, 1420 4th Street, Bay City with Rev. Cristobal Maldonado officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mario Lule Jr., David Rangel Jr., James Aguilar, Moses Zamora, Angelo Torres, and Steven San Miguel.

Ethel Nedbalek
(January 15, 1930 - May 9, 2013)

Ethel Marie Nedbalek, 83, passed away May 9, 2013. She was born January 15, 1930 in Crockett, Texas to the late Joseph Nicholson and Lillie Allbright Nicholson. She worked in the cafeteria for Tidehaven ISD for many years.

Her husband Johnnie Nedbalek, sister Hattie McCann and brother J. B. Nicholson all preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters Barbara Jensen & husband Neil, Judy Nedbalek & husband John, Sandy Stelzel & husband Larry,Cathy Halbison & husband Richard, Linda Griffith & husband Lewis and Gail Otto & husband Tim; son Johnnie Nedbalek & wife Flora; sisters Joyce Bargainer and Lavone Ebersole; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM – 7PM Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Hawley Cemetery. Mary Evelyn Neeley
(January 31, 1933 - July 8, 2013)

Mary Evelyn Neeley, 80, of Jourdanton, Texas passed away July 8, 2013. She was born January 31, 1933 in Bay City, Texas to the late J. E. Wyatt and Lora Irene Miller Wyatt.

Survivors include her husband Robert M. Neeley of Pleasanton, TX; daughters Sandra L. Neeley and Stacy L. Neeley both of Pleasanton, TX; sons David E. Neeley & wife Darlene of College Station and Randy W. Neeley of Pleasanton; sister Margie Huffman & husband Joe Dan of Richmond, TX; grandchildren Timothy Earl Neeley, David Brent Neeley, Ray Rivas, Michael Ray Neeley and Derrick Neeley.

Randy Wayne Neeley

Randy Wayne Neeley 54, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 in San Antonio, TX.  He was born in Palacios, TX on March 3rd, 1964 to Robert and Mary Evelyn (Wyatt) Neeley.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Grandparents Jesse and Lora Wyatt and Robert H. and Beaulah Neeley.  Randy is survived by his father, Robert M. Neeley of Jourdanton; brother, David E. Neeley and wife Darlene of College Station; sisters Sandra Neeley of Pleasanton and Stacey Neeley of Jourdanton; nephews, Brent Neeley, Tim Neeley, Michael Neeley, Derrick Neeley and Ray Rivas, as well as numerous great nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton.

Robert John Nelon
March 3, 1962 – October 17, 2013

Bobby was born March 3, 1962 in Pasadena, Texas.

He passed away on October 17, 2013, after a year-long battle with lung cancer.

His greatest passion in life was family and fishing with his step-dad, James Thaden, who always said Bobby had a “heart of gold” and he did!

He is survived by wife, Tammy; sons, Bobby and Johnny; three grandchildren; mother, Marsha Thaden; brother, James Thaden; and sister, Jeanne Thomas.

Bobby will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts!

PALACIOS - Caroline Sue Nelsen (nee Schoren), age 76, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by family peacefully passed away August 5, 2013 in Palacios, Texas.

Beloved wife of Gil; cherished mother of Joanne Brown (Rodney), James White (Barbara), Linda Czerwieniec (Kenneth); Dolores Key; Karen Nelsen and Carol Longoria (Gerald). Devoted Grandmother of Rebekah (Rastislav); Jessica Marie; Maria; Jennifer; Jessica; Justin; Bryson, Elisa and Nicolaas. Great -grandmother of Juliana, Dane and Nathaniel. Loving aunt to many.

Preceded in death by parents Howard and Edith, and brother Howard, Jr.

John Henry Nelson IV
(October 30, 1929 - January 7, 2013)

John Henry Nelson IV, 83, A Texan at Heart, Born in The Bronx of New York City, resided the majority of the past fifty years in Houston, Conroe and Sargent. As a veteran of the USAF he received four Honorable Discharges attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He retired from Federal Civil Service as a Fire Chief and built Nelson Services Co. into the largest bark mulch and soil conditioning products company in the southern United States.

John Henry leaves his wife, Dodie Nelson, sons, Jim Wesley Nelson and wife Sandy, Leslie Jack Nelson and wife Norma, John David Nelson and wife Jeanette, John W. Snelson and wife Ruby, and Calvin Roderick Loper and wife CJ, his beloved brother Jim Nelson and wife Joannie, 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sophie Ann Snelson.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 11:00 to 2:00 before the service. The family requests that In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Wounded Warriors or other Veteran organizations.

JOHN O. NESBITT

BLESSING - John O. Nesbitt, 88 of Blessing, Passed away Oct. 10, 2011 in Palacios, Texas. John was born to Emmie (Dixon) and John Oliver Nesbitt in Sterling, Ill.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred, and children Arbie, Lindell Nesbitt, Carol (Carlos) Yates, Alvie (Elaine) Nesbitt, Floyd (Olivia) Nesbitt, James (Judy) Nesbitt, Sr. and Joyce (Robert) Smith.

Preceded in death by; Parents, sisters; Ruth and Wilma and brother Wesley, daughter JoAnn and sons, Howard, Chuck and Lloyd.

John has a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his best friend "Jeff" whom he never left home without. John will be greatly missed and never forgotten.....

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation and we have a priceless inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled beyond the reach of change and decay.

Mildred Marie Nesbitt

Funeral services for Mildred Marie Nesbitt, 88, of Blessing, TX, were held June 20, 2013, at the Blessing First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Swift officiating. Interment was at Hawley Cemetery.

Mrs. Nesbitt was born Jan. 16, 1925 to the late Daisy Mathus and Andrew Key. She passed away June 17, 2013.

She lived along life and was loved by many. She is now reunited with her love John Nesbitt of 68 years. No matter what they had to say about one another they truly loved each other. They always bickered about the other, but deep down it was out of love and we all knew it. Mildred will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her memories will be cherished and will remain in our lives forever.

Mildred is survived by her children James (Judy) Nesbitt, Alvie (Elaine) Nesbitt, Floyd (Olivia) Nesbitt, Lindell, Arbie, Joyce (Robert) Smith and Carol (Carlos) Yates. She also has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and children Joanne, Lloyd, Howard and Chuck Nesbitt.

Norman Wayne Newsom, 64, of Bay City passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012. He was born December 15, 1948 in Bay City to Adrian & Susianna Zievert Newsom. Wayne was a life long resident of Bay City.

He is survived by his mother: Susianna Newsom Hale of Bay City; daughter: Jenny Ann McGill & husband Matthew of Buffalo, TX; son: Cullen Wayne Newsom & Wife Arielle of Wharton; sister: Adrianna Ginther of Branson, MO; brother: Melvin Douglas Newsom & wife Lynda of Tomball; and 4 grandchildren: Ivan Augustus Newsom, Aria Nicole Newsom, Lindsey Brooke McGill, and Melanie Marie McGill. An Van Nguyen, 49, of Palacios passed away February 10, 2013. He was born March 3, 1963 in Vietnam to the late Khan Nguyen and Lan Nguyen.

Survivors include his wife Thuan Nguyen of Palacios; daughter Lisa Nguyen and son Hung Nguyen both of Palacios; sisters Hue Nguyen of California, Don Nguyen, Nu Nguyen & Ngot Nguyen all of Vietnam; brothers Nam Nguyen, Lam Nguyen & Khai Nguyen all of Palacios & Thien Nguyen of Vietnam.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM both Thursday and Friday evenings at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Donald Eugene Nielsen
July 25, 1933 –August 1, 2013

Donald Eugene Nielsen, 80, of Selkirk, passed away August 1, 2013.

He was born on July 25, 1933 in Danevang, Texas, to Walter and Anna Lykke Nielsen.

Donald was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He was a farmer for 40 years and enjoyed fishing, dominoes, and loved going to Louisiana. Donald will be greatly missed.

He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Mary Jean Nielsen; daughter, Gay Lynn Barber and husband RW (Bud) of Old Ocean, Texas; sons, Michael Nielsen and wife Shelly of Danevang and Mark Nielsen and wife Audrey of El Campo; sisters, Ella Halamicek of El Campo and Isabel Berthold of Berclair; step-sister, Dorothy Payne of Lake Jackson; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Lloyd Nielsen; and sister, Bertha Coates.

Visitation was held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2013. The family received visitors from 5 to 7 pm.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Storey officiating.

Interment followed at Danevang Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ryan Nielsen, Reed Nielsen, Bud Barber, Kevin McKelvy, Dean Hansen and Wayne Hansen.

Robert "RJ" Nini
(April 24, 1924 - May 8, 2013)

Robert “R. J.” Nini, 89, of Matagorda passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was born in Matagorda County on April 24, 1924 to the late Thomas & Thelma Baxter Nini. R. J. was originally from Matagorda, but lived in Aransas Pass most of his life.

He is survived by his sister: Luke Lera of Galveston; 2 nieces: Fredye Lou Dennard & husband Jim of Cleveland, TX and Barbara Miller of Pearland; nephew: Gayle Watkins Jr. of Palacios; 2 great nephews: Zane Miller of Pearland and Jimbo Dennard of Cleveland; and numerous other loving relatives.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, May12, 2013 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be: 2:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2013 at Matagorda Cemetery.

Wallace Edward Nini
November 13, 2014 – March 3, 2014

Wallace Edward Nini, 95, was born to the late Edward Nini and Lela Baxter Nini on November 13, 1918 in Matagorda, Texas.

He passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014 in Bay City.

He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Bay City, member of VFW Post 2438, American Legion and member of the 100 Club.

He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1942 to 1945, and was in active duty in the South Pacific Theater of War. He also served in the Korean War in 1950. After serving in the Korean War and returning home, he became a commercial fisherman. He and his late wife, Audrey, lived in Aransas Pass, Texas, where he, in later years, owned and operated a fleet of shrimping vessels. After retiring in 1986, they moved back to Bay City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 50 years, Audrey; and his sister, Addie Lee Johnson.

He is survived by his loving family, Hadden and Dorothy Dietrich of Bay City, Hadden Dietrich, Jr. and wife Kathy of Katy, Cole Dietrich of Houston, Zachary Dietrich and wife Lacey and their two daughters, Tylar and Riley of McKinney, Shelby Dietrich Vinson and husband Richard and their two daughters, Katy Cole and Leah of Medlothian; cousins, Luke and Harry Charles Lara of Galveston, Fredye Lou Dennard and husband James of Cleveland, Gayle Watkins and wife Mattie of Selkirk, Margaret Ruth Lagrone and husband Don of Nasa, Barbara and Zane Miller of Pearland and Andy Nini of Conroe.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Greg Korenek officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, with Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Hadden Dietrich, Jr., Cole Dietrich, Zachary Dietrich, Richard Vinson, Gayle Watkins and Kim Abshire.

The family would like to thank the Legacy Campus Nurses and the Houston Hospice of El Campo Nurses for their special attention given to our beloved Wallace.

Audrey Dietrich Nini
(December 2, 1920 - January 26, 2011)

Mrs. Audrey Dietrich Nini was born to the late Vernon and Mary Ottis Dietrich on December 2, 1920 in Gulf, TX. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Nini was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and Altar Society in Bay City, TX.

Mrs. Nini was a retired registered nurse. Her career included service at Kuakini Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii from 1946 to 1947. She worked as a nurse at hospitals in New Gulf, TX and Bay City, TX. She was also the Plant Nurse at Phillips Petroleum in Old Ocean, TX.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Wallace Nini of Bay City and her loving brother, Hadden Dietrich, Sr., and wife Dorothy of Bay City. She will sorely be missed by her extended family, nephews Hadden Dietrich, Jr. & wife Kathy of Katy and Cole Dietrich of Houston; great nephew Zachary Dietrich, wife Lacey & daughters Tylar & Riley of McKinney, TX; great niece Shelby Vinson, her husband Rich and daughter Katy Cole of Dallas and numerous cousins throughout Texas and Oklahoma.

The family is grateful to the Bay Villa Healthcare Center staff for their loving care and to Houston Hospice for their compassion.

The Holy Rosary will be 7:00 PM Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at Taylor Bros Chapel. A Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casimir Jarzombek officiating. Pallbearers are Zac Dietrich, Rich Vinson, James Rother, Bernard Rother, Woody Miller and Kim Abshier. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Harry Edward Norris, Jr.
(January 1, 1960 - September 7, 2013)

Harry Norris, 53, passed away on September the 7th, 2013. Harry was born in Fort Worth, Texas on January the 1st, 1960. Harry graduated from Bay City High School and attended Southwest Texas State University. He was a lifelong resident of Bay City, Texas. He worked with his family at Landmark Realty in Bay City for a number of years performing residential and commercial appraisals. Harry was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and was very active and involved with church activities, including the food pantry and the men's Emmaus group. Harry had a great love for the outdoors, including boating, fishing, and hunting. He was a very kind and loving person and is deeply cherished by his family and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry E. Norris; his grandparents, Harry and Maude Norris, and John and Vera Mae Crow; and his aunts, Margaret N. Thornton and Geraldine Ramsey. He is survived by his son, Harry A. Norris; his mother, Johnna Norris; his cousins, Susan Hunt, Ann Parker, Anne T. Carl-Powers, N. Douglas Thornton, Anne Elise Dollery, Jennifer Dollery, Todd Thornton, and Chris Thornton.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September the 11th, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Bay City with Dr. Russ Munch officiating.

Florence R. “Jimmy” Norton

December 25, 1890 – December 22, 1978

 

 

F. R. “Jimmy” Norton, 87, of 2913 Avenue K, Bay City, died today Friday in Bay Villa Nursing Home. He was born December 25, 1890 in Tennessee. The deceased was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City and the Masonic lodge.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Estella Sutherland Norton of Bay City, a son Rev. Billy F. Norton of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, December 23, at 11:00AM. Rev. W. D. Baker will officiate. Interment will be at Cedarvale Cemetery.
