Fredda Sue Medlock

Fredda was born in Bay City, Texas. She was the daughter of Frederick P. Medlock and Mary Sue Brooks Medlock. She grew up and attended West Columbia schools with graduation in 1956. She was the oldest of four children and always the helpful sister.

After her high school graduation, Fredda went to work for Mr. John Henderson, an attorney, in Angleton, Texas. She was with Mr. Henderson until his passing. With her growing and active knowledge, as a legal secretary, Fredda applied and was… hired with the Baker & Botts law firm in Houston. She remained with the law firm, for over 30 years until her retirement.

A few years, before her retirement, Fredda was able to purchase the property, once originally owned by her parents, on 13th street in West Columbia. She had a small home built, and she began to become more involved with community organizations. She remained active for many years with American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Bible studies with the ladies of the West Columbia Methodist church, the Varner Hogg state park. The west Columbia Museum, fund raisers for the West Columbia EMS responders and the senior citizens group. One of her earlier and to my knowledge most enjoyable things she did was she was one of the first usherettes with the Houston Astros baseball team at the opening of the astrodome. She kept that activity on her calendar for several years.

Among all of these things, Fredda still found time to take care of her parents, during their times of illness and needs. She loved to travel as much as possible, both with friends and family.

Fredda is preceded, in death, by her parents, Frederick (Fritz) and Mary Sue Medlock, her brother, Frederick (Sonny) Medlock, her nephew, John Anthony Easterling and her brother in law, Don Easterling. She is survived by her brother, Rogers Melvil Medlock of Houston, sister, Kathleen (Kay) Easterling of Sugar Land, her nephews, Don Easterling

(Kim), of Katy, Derek Easterling (Melanie), of San Antonio and James Patrick Medlock of Mannheim, Germany and
her niece Stacie Easterling Langland (Tom) of Richmond.

Fredda also leaves behind, her two great nephews, Holden Easterling of Katy and Austin Langland of Pearland, two great nieces, Madison Easterling of Katy and Zoe Easterling of San Antonio.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Rev. Silverio Sanchez officiating with visitation an hour before the service.

Donations, in Fredda's name, may be made to the Brazoria county animal shelter, the West Columbia E.M. S. and to West Columbia senior citizen's group with meals on wheels

Christine Marie Mesey

(August 20, 1965 - March 6, 2017)

Christine Marie Mesey, 51, of Sargent passed away March 6, 2017.

The world was introduced us to a very special person in August 1965.

She was the only child born to Diane Mesey and the late Richard J Mesey. They provided the fullest childhood any person could ask for. Growing up she excelled, especially interested in Art and Athletics.

At the age of 19 she was married to Jonathan Pflueger and within the next 3 years gave birth to her children Carol Pflueger, Jonathan Pflueger, and Brittney Pflueger.

In addition to her mother and children, she leaves 3 grandchildren whom she loved to the moon and back: Gavin Guajardo, Jonathan Pflueger, and Kaylee Pflueger.

She was a woman who had a deep care for her family, friends, and the world around her. A highly intelligent wit made it easy for everyone to love her. She once had an entire airplane enjoying playing Pitbull on her laptop. The one most powerful way to describe her is brave. She wasn't afraid of anything all while having a heart of gold. She lived for pleasing others and her spirit will live on in the oceans she loved so much.

A Memorial Mass honoring her life will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Greg Korenek officiating.
