Marguerite Hearn Marsh was born April 30, 1925, Bruceville, Texas to Henry & Mattie Lula Koepf. At the age of 91 she left her earthly home on January 25, 2017, surrounded by her family. She graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1942 at the age of seventeen. She married A.W. Hearn on February 25, 1946, and began their 31-year marriage, bringing four children into this world. Moving to Bay City in 1950, they started Hearn Brother’s Motor Company with A.W.’s brother Lewis Pete Hearn, Bay City’s first & last Studebaker car dealership, currently the home of Cole Plumbing. In 1990 Marguerite retired from First National Bank of Bay City as it’s Senior Investment Officer, after which she moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, retuning to Bay City in 2002. Marguerite loved sacred and classical music and was the pianist and a soloist at Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She was also a Charter Member of the Bay City Pilot Club in the 1950’s. She was preceded in death by her husband A.W. Hearn, both parents, and all six of her brothers. She is survived by her children, Allen W. Hearn & wife Carol of Mulberry, Florida, Norma Hearn Douget of Bay City, James D. Hearn of Sinton, Texas, and Robert L. Hearn & wife Maggie of Palacios, Texas. Marguerite was blessed with nine grandchildren and lived to welcome 11 great grandchildren into this world along with 1 great, great grandson and great, great granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by Orville H. Marsh of Corpus Christi, Texas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive visitors at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home on Friday, January 27 from 9:00am to Noon, and Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 1:00-2:00pm followed by a graveside service and interment at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck with Rev. Crecenciana is preceded in death by her husband, Ysidoro Martinez; daughter, Mercedes Martinez; son, John Martinez; sister, Marianna Hernandez; and brothers Joe, Paul and Frank Martinez. Martinez died October 5 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. He was born June 24, 1935, in McFadden, Texas, to the late Leon Martinez, Sr. and Ramona Mata Martinez. He was a member of the Word of Life Church in Wadsworth and a resident of Markham for the past 20 years.
Martinez is survived by: his wife, Mary G. Martinez of Markham; mother, Ramona Martinez of Cuero; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Scott King of Blessing, Linda and Marty Lee of Nacogdoches; sons and a daughter-in-law, Ernest J. and Crystal Martinez of Fort Hood, and John A. “Tony” Martinez of Bay City; sister, Julia Martinez of Cuero; brothers, Leon Martinez, Jr. and Abel Martinez, both of Victoria, Jesus M. Martinez of Orange Grove, Texas, Danny, Tomas, and Robert Martinez, all of Brenham, Lupe Martinez of Hearne, Texas, and Richard Martinez of Bryan; grandchildren, Crystal Patterson and husband John, Jessica Flynn and husband Sam, Rachel Martinez, Ernest Martinez, Jr., Justin King, and Christopher Martinez; and great grandchild, Evan Flynn.

Mary G. Martinez MARKHAM - Mary G. Martinez, 80, of Markham, TX, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born March 8, 1936 in Kennedy, TX to the late Jose Angel Guerra and Catarina Carrisales Guerra. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt and she dearly loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Work of Life Church in Wadsworth and loved serving her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny M. Rosemary Martinez, 50, of Bay City, passed away on January 5, 2017. She was born in Bay City on March 17, 1966 to Joaquin Martinez and Victoria Camarillo Martinez. Rosemary was a very hard working, independent person. She always put others before herself. Rosemary loved to take care of her own yard and loved to barbeque. She was born and raised Catholic, and was baptized this past June. Rosemary was a faithful member of the Good Shepard Church in Bay City. She will be greatly missed. Edward Matejceck, 80, of Bay City passed away November 5, 2016. He was born December 4, 1935 in Staten Island, New York to the late Giovanni “John” Matejceck and Josephina Tedesci Matejceck. He served in the US Air Force and was retired from the New York City Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Arlene Matejceck in 1999. Survivors include daughter Patty Kelly of New York; sons Ed Matejceck & wife Dawn of Bay City and John Matejceck of Bay City; grandchildren Devin Hopkins, Cole Hopkins, Tina Matejceck, and Deanna Matejceck and great grandchildren Cameron and Carter Smith. Margie Ann Rodriguez Medina, 59, of Angleton, TX, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family. Margie was born on November 27, 1956 in Ganado, TX, to the late Aldolfo M Rodriguez Sr. and Mary Zamora. She was one of six children who lived in Bay City, TX before moving to Brazoria County. Margie was blessed with 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was loved by her family as well as so many longtime friends, that grew over the years, especially when she worked at Bucees #1 and Bucees #29. She also worked for BISD as a custodian for many years. She loved providing customer service to others and she had a beautiful smile that would brighten anyone’s day. She enjoyed watching her Dallas Cowboys play on game days, as well as her grandchildren in whatever activities they played. Margie was preceded in death by her brother, Moses Zamora; and her grandmother, Juliana Ramirez. Survivors include her sons, James Rodriquez (Michelle), Fred Medina Jr. (Miriam Gomez), Mark Medina (Elsa), and Michael Medina (Asile Ann Bentancourt), all of Angleton; along with her daughters, Judy Ozuna (Jonathan) of Lake Jackson and Crystal Cardenas (Eleazar) of Angleton. Mark Wayne Michael was born in Bay City, Texas, June 20, 1955. He passed away unexpectedly April 3, 2007 in Round Rock, Texas. Mark graduated from Bay City High School in 1973, entered Texas A. & M. University, where he earned a B. S. in physics and a Masters in electrical engineering. At the time of his death, he was employed as senior member of the technical staff at Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, Texas. He is survived by: his parents, Jane and Wayne Michael of Bay City; his beloved wife of 32 years, Donna Harter Michael of Cedar Park, Texas; one daughter, Julie Pena and husband Mario of Cedar Park, Texas; and the joy of his life, granddaughter, Carmen of Cedar Park. Isaac Terrell (“Terry”) Miller, 66, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Houston, Texas, following a six month battle with complications due to an illness. He leaves behind his companion of over 12 years, Annie Rutledge; his two sisters, Jan Morris and Theresa Smith; and two brothers, Pete and Bob Miller. Terry was born in Kingsville Texas, the son of Isaac J. (I.J.) Miller and Edith Louise (“Patsy”) Huppertz Miller, and was a long-time resident of Bay City. Before his retirement in January 2008, Terry worked for the Bay City Independent School district as the Community Schools Coordinator. Mr. Miller graduated from Bay City High School in 1968 and attended Texas A&M University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 1972. Terry spent his younger years growing up in Mexico City and was an avid tennis player. Terry had a passion for drawing and gardening. On Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2016, Christopher Michael DeWayne Moore, 23, of Bay City, Texas, was involved in a car accident that tragically took his life, while simultaneously and triumphantly, entered him into the next. A visitation was held Friday, June 10, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Matthews Funeral Home in Wharton, Texas, where family and friends came together to commemorate his life. Father Dan Morales, Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria, Texas, died on Saturday, September 3, 2016, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 17, 1964 in Palacios, Texas, and after attending public schools there, entered Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the fall of 1982, as one of the first seminarians for the newly formed Diocese of Victoria. He finished seminary studies at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston, Texas, and was ordained a transitional deacon on January 27, 1990, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church by Bishop Enrique San Pedro. Father Dan was ordained to the priesthood on September 8, 1990, by Bishop David Fellhauer at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Palacios. From that moment, his identity was rooted in who he is: a Priest of Jesus Christ. He faithfully served many parishes throughout the Diocese of Victoria. After his ordination to the priesthood, he served as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral in Victoria. In 1993, he became the first pastor from the Diocese of Victoria for St. Peter and St. Paul in Frelsburg and St. Roch in Mentz. In 1995, Fr. Dan began his pastorate at Our Lady of the Gulf in Port Lavaca, where he founded Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic School in 1996. In 2011, Fr. Dan returned to Victoria as pastor of St. Mary’s, and then in 2013, as pastor of Holy Family. From 2006 - 2016 Fr. Dan served as Director of Vocations and Director of Seminarians. In 2006, he also began missionary work in Guatemala. His ministry to the people of Antigua and the residents of the orphanage of Obras Sociales del Santo Hermano Pedro has been a big part of his life ever since. Fr. Dan is loved and remembered by the many people whose lives he touched, first of which are his parents, Paz and Andrea Morales of Palacios; sisters, Sylvia Cartier (Jim) of Fort Worth, Rose Mary Mallia of Santa Fe, TX, Kathy Matheny (Kevin) of Lakehills, Patty Morales of Austin, Margaret Espinosa (Roland) of Edna and Jo Ann Reyes of Austin; brothers, Paz Morales Jr. (Fina) and Ted Morales (Nina), both of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family members, friends, brother priests, parishioners, and those seeking Jesus in their lives. Ernest Gene Munch, 86, passed away November 1, 2016. He was born August 1, 1930 in Pratt, Kansas to the late Ernest Munch and Jessie Johnson Munch. He graduated from Pratt High School and moved to Nebraska where he spent most of his adult years. For the past five years he lived in Texas with his son and family. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock, Nebraska for over fifty years. He was a jack of all trades, working as a carpenter as well as in farming. After retiring he enjoyed traveling with his wife with the Airstream Community and when at home would be found most of the time working in his yard. Nelda Ann Dutton Muns, died August 10, 2016, at 5:10 p.m., at the age of 81. She was born May 5, 1935, near Neosho Falls, Kansas, to Everett William and Arlene Lavina Danielson Dutton. She graduated from El Campo High School in 1952 and from Wharton County Junior College in 1954. She received a BS from Sam Houston State University in 1956 and an M.Ed in 1960. She also had doctoral hours from the University of Houston. In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill D. Muns, in the Methodist Episcopal Church in Neosho Falls, Kansas. She began her teaching career at El Campo High School in 1956, and in 1959 began a 35 year career at Wharton County Junior College, where she was a Chairman of the Division of Social and Behavioral Science and as an instructor of political science. She was a life alumni member of Sam Houston State Alumni Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi and Pi Gamma Mu. She was a sponsor of the Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at WCJC for twelve years. She was a member of the Steering Committee for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation in 1965 and Chair of that committee for the accreditation in 1975 and 1985. She also served on teams for accreditation in area high schools. She was a member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, American Association of University Women, The Wharton County Retired Teachers, the Heritage Center and the Booster Clubs of ECHS and WCJC. She was a member and Chairman of the Credit Committee of the Wharton County Teachers Credit Union for 40 years. She was a member of state committees and the recipient of state and national awards and is listed in several honor and award publications. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of El Campo, where through the years, she had been a Sunday School teacher for all ages, Vacation Bible School teacher, Conference Officer for the Wesleyan Service Guild, President of the United Methodist Women and a member of many boards and commissions. She is survived by their son, William Randolph (Randy) Muns of Chico; grandchildren, Matthew and wife Sarah of South Lake, Anne Hartfield and husband Bradley of Grand Prairie, Dr. Amanda Muns of Dallas, and John Randolph of Chico; great-grandchildren, Gigi and Julian Hartfield and Betsy, Theodore and Jackson Muns; her only sibling, Thayne Dutton and wife Rosa Lee of Sugar Land; her beloved nieces and nephew, Michelle Granberry and husband Kent of Sugar Land, Tracey Telschik and husband Jim of Houston, Shayne Dutton and wife Michelle of Fort Worth and great-nephews John Everett and Blake Teltschik of Houston and Chandler Dutton of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, George Muns and wife Velma of Las Vegas; and sister-in-law, Debby and husband Ron of Durango, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, of 59 years; her parents; grandson, Luke Richard Muns; brother-in-law, Gary Muns of Bloomfield, N.M., and Levi Muns of Las Vegas. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo, Texas, with the family receiving visitors from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in El Campo, with the Rev. Margot Perez-Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Rosie Deborah Murphy, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and employee of a dental office. Rosie was born on December 22, 1932, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late John Richard Teusher and Herta Jhanna Lange Teusher. She married Donald Clay Murphy on July 2, 1949, and they moved to Texas in 1954. Rosie was a member of First Baptist Church, loved to sew, crafting, decorating and shopping. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Herta Teusher; and her husband, Donald. She leaves behind, her devoted daughters, Debra Kay and husband C. Pat Davis of Conroe, Texas, and Vicki Lynn and husband Douglas Paul Matthes of Bay City, Texas; grandchildren, Shelly and Bink Grimes, Jeff and Lori Herrington, Kristy and Jason Salas, Jill Herrington, and Taylor and Kimberly Matthes; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Eliana and Josiah Herrington, Mallory Grimes, Wyatt Salas, and Luke and Noah Matthes; sisters, Susan and husband Larry Miller of Tennessee, and Heidi and husband John Paston of Indiana; and her beloved dog, Tootsie. The family extends special thanks to the staff at the Legacy Assisted Living, IPH Hospice, her doctors and wonderful nurses for making her final days so peaceful. A service celebrating her life was held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers were Taylor Matthes, Bink Grimes, Jason Salas, Matthew Dodd, Travis Dodd and Garrett Dodd. Honorary pallbearers were Jeffrey Herrington, Dr. Robert Kelly and Dr. Crayden Dennard.
