Doretta loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a family of friends who knew her as “Mama Carrie.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Faniel and Eugenia Tellison, one daughter, Melvinia Andrews Moore, one son, Robert Andrews, Jr., and one step-daughter, Nettie Lee Lewis Wiggins, one brother Tilton Tellison, one sister, Rosie Lee Giles. “Mama Carrie” was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she worked faithfully and proved to be a good follower during her lengthy life. Mr. Longoria, 53, was born on November 2, 1930, in Beeville. He was a resident of Bay City for over 30 yeas. He died December 29, 1983, in Gulf Coast Medical Center.
He is survived by: his wife, Magadelena Pena Longoria of Bay City; his parents, Jesus M. and Irene Longoria of Monterrey, Mexico; three daughters, Mary Helen Martinez, Irene Mirales and Susan Longoria, all of Bay City; two sons, Jesus M. Longoria III and Pete Longoria, both of Bay City; one sister and nine brothers, all of Monterrey, Mexico; and, six grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight in Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 28, 1927 in Bay City, Texas, daughter of the late Guadalupe and Lina Rodriguez Zepeda. Mrs. Lopez was a longtime resident of Bay City. She was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed fishing, sewing, puzzles and crafts. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by: her daughter, Emma Landriault; and sons, Sammy and Michael Montoya. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with the Rev. Alex Lopez officiating. Burial followed immediately in the Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Funeral services for the Rev. Preston Luddington of Bay City, 71, are scheduled for 2 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994, at Enterprise Baptist Church in Bay City with the Rev. A. H. Pointer officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Bay City. Visitation will be until 9 p. m. Friday, Dec. 9 at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home of Bay City and from 1 to 3 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Enterprise Baptist Church in Bay City. Rev. Luddington was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Matagorda to Calvin Luddington Sr. and Albirda Young Woodard Luddington and died Dec. 6, 1994, in the V. A. Medical Center in Houston. A resident of Bay City, he was a veteran of World War II and served in the U. S. Army. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Albirda Woodard of Bay City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lillian Luddington Brown and the Rev. Isaac Brown of Houston and Deavolyn Luddington Mitchell and Freeman Mitchell of Houston; a son, Clemith J. Luddington; two sisters, Dorothy Luddington Walton of Bay City and Eula Courtney of Bay City; a brother-in-law, William Courtney Sr. of Bay City; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Michael Fields, James Robinson, Ulyssys Courtney, Randall Knapp, William Courtney and Archie McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers are Clemith J. Luddington, Anthony Walton, William Courtney Sr., Isaac Brown, Robert Lee Clark, Steve Flye, Professor Spencer, Freeman Mitchell, Clemith D. Austin Sr. and Willie Hill. Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home of Bay City.

David Luedecke, 52, passed away on December 12, 2012. He was born on July 30, 1960 to Lawrence and Eva Luedecke. His father, Lawrence Luedecke, preceded him in death. He is survived by: his mother, Eva Luedecke; his three brothers, Gene, Donald, and Kenneth Luedecke; his three children, Jordan Hipp, Rachel Luedecke, and Stephen Luedecke; and his two grandchildren, Trae Mejares and Callie Hipp. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Vera Ruth Anderson Lusk was born on June 6, 1935 in Mills County Texas. Ruth was the third daughter of Charlie Victor and Lillie Bell Shipp Anderson. Ruth grew up in central Texas in the Goldthwaite area. Shortly after World War II her family relocated to Austin, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School in 1953. In 1955, Ruth married R.Q. Lusk and relocated to Bay City, Texas where he was employed as an engineer for Central Power and Light. They raised their two sons, Robert and John, there. Ruth was active in the 6th Street Church of Christ for the entire time that she lived in Bay City, teaching third grade Sunday school for nearly 40 years. She was also a Cub Scout den mother with Pack 51 while her sons were in Cub Scouts. Her friends, family, and neighbors fondly remember her annual Christmas cookie baking. In the mid 1990s, following her husband’s death, she bravely reinvented her life and moved across country to Portland, Oregon. Here she was an active member of the Portland First Christian Church. She was well-known in her neighborhood in northeast Portland, where she walked every day and took coffee and conversation at Peet’s coffee. She passed away on September 20, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by: her son, Dr. Robert Lusk and his partner Christopher Bailey (her third son to hear her tell it), and her son, John Lusk; as well as her sisters, Charlene White (James), Lois McClean, and Jo Anderson; along with many nieces and nephews and many good friends and neighbors who loved her dearly (both in Oregon and Texas). The family will welcome friends for viewing at Taylor Bros Funeral Home from 4 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening, September 26, 2012. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Cedarvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Harvest House food bank c/o Nichols Street Church of Christ or the Oregon Food Bank in Portland, Oregon. Taylor Bros. Funeral services for Charles Luther, 88, of Palacios will be held 11 a. m. Tuesday at Palacios Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bernard Ritchea officiating. Burial will be in Palacios Cemetery. Mr. Luther was born Sept. 7, 1899, in Whitney, Texas, to Thomas Monroe and Laura Gollihar Luther and died 1:45 a. m. March 21, 1988, at Wagner General Hospital, Palacios. A resident of Palacios since 1921, he was the owner and operator of the Luther Hotel in Palacios. He was chairman of the Seawall Committee and former mayor of Palacios. He was the former owner of Bayshore Chevrolet and a former Gulf wholesaler for over 50 years. He served with the U. S. Army during World War I in France. Survivors include a daughter, Claire Joy Dilworth of Tilden, Texas; a son, Charles M. (Buddy) Luther of Houston; a brother, retired Col. Henry Luther of San Antonio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Palacios.
