Hahn & Elsie DeReese Hahn - Roselawn Memorial Park - Photo courtesy of Faye Cunningham Elsie DeReese Hahn Elsie DeReese Hahn, 94, of Markham passed away Jan. 16, 1997 at Bay Villa Nursing Home in Bay City. She was born April 3, 1902 in De Witt County to George Christian and Bertha Krueger DeReese. She had been a resident of Matagorda County since 1929 and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-on-law Lorene and J. T. Frick of Markham and Ruby and A. T. Richardson of Midfield; by two sons and daughters-in-law Johnnie an Evalce Hahn of Bay City and Elroy Hahn of Markham; by two brothers George DeReese of Bay City and Norman DeReese of Alice, Texas; by eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hahn in 1962; by two sisters, Martha Hilbrich and Hilda Bartos; and by two brothers, Fritz DeReese and Otto DeReese. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bay City with Rev. Eric Klimpel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.

Hall, 71, of Van Vleck will be held 10 am Saturday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. W. E. Dugger Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Mr. Hall was born July 16, 1917, in Maywood, Ky. To Joe L. and Nellie Burke Hall and died Feb. 15, 1989, at M. D. Anderson Hospital, Houston. A veteran of WWII, he was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances, “Crickett” Hall of Van Vleck; two sisters, Billie Brinson of Columbia, Ga., and Betty Vanie of Buena Vista, Calif.; a brother, Joe Hall of Arcadia, Fla.; a nephew, Calvert Dixon of Merritt Island, Fla.; and dear friends, Bonnie and Bob Conklin of Houston. Pallbearers include Bill Walker, Ronnie Fehmel, Sonny Cox, Mike Grogan, Haden Dietrich and James Craft. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.

Frances Marion Hall, 74, of Van Vleck,
passed away June 7, 2000 in Houston, TX. She was born March 1, 1926
in Pensacola, FL to Frank Bernard Bragg and Edna Mae Lightfoot
Bragg. She was fondly known as "Crickett" by her friends and
succumbed to a long valiant fight with cancer. She was a resident of
Matagorda County since 1954 and was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Bay City. She is survived by: her nephew, Lance
Sparks of Eugene, OR, and her dear friends; Robert and Bonnie
Conklin of Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Clinton G. Hall in 1989. Graveside funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2000 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van
Vleck with the Rev. Horace McMillan officiating. Interment will be
at Roselawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros.

Hamill, 69, of Markham, died this morning in a hospital in Wharton at 9:35. He had been a resident of Matagorda County for years. He is survived by two brothers C. G. Hamill of Kerrville and A. E. Hamill of Tulsa, Oklahoma. One stepson, Vick Burchfield, also survives. Funeral services under the direction of Taylor Bros. are pending. Hamill, 69, who died in a Wharton hospital Tuesday morning, were held in the Ashby Baptist Church with Reverend R. E. Black officiating. The services, under the direction of Taylor Bros. Funeral Home were held Wednesday. Interment was in Cedarvale cemetery. Mr. Hamill, a resident of many years in Markham, is survived by two brothers, C. G. Hamill of Kerrville and A. E. Hamill of Tulsa, and one step-son, Vick Burchfield of Markham. Pallbearers were Eugene Long, Charlie Wolf, E. F. Spoor, T. V. Smith, J. O. Thompson, Jap Smith. Hillery who lived formerly in Wadsworth, passed away Saturday, May 2, 1912, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Annie Moers, in Houston. Services were held Tuesday, 3 p. m. at the Walker-Matchett funeral home with burial in Cedarvale Cemetery. Walker-Matchett in charge. Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Mrs. Hillery Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Walker-Matchett Funeral Home for Mrs. W. W. Hillery, 61, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Annie Moers, in Houston. Mrs. Hillery had been a resident of Matagorda County for a good many years. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Otto Hudson of Bay City and Mrs. Moers. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery.

The Rev. Tommy Nesbitt will officiate. Interment will be at Cedarvale Cemetery. Hillery passed away this morning at Matagorda General Hospital. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. O. E. Hudson of Bay City and Mrs. W. A. Moers of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Mary Tyler of Santa Monica, California; nine grandchildren, 30 great grand children and one great, great grandchild. Serving as pallbearers will be Hillery’s grandsons, E. E. Hudson, James W. Hudson, Robert R. Hudson, Edward Moers, William Moers and La Rue Pyle Jr.
