Patricia Dale Hagaman
December 23, 1942 - July 25, 2020

Patricia Dale Nance Hagaman, 77, of Bay City, passed from this earthly life into the eternal loving presence of her heavenly Father, and personal savior Jesus Christ, on July 25, 2020.

Born on December 23, 1942 in Bay City, Texas to William (Bill) and Violet Nance, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son Robert “Bobby” Hagaman, Jr., her husband Robert Hagaman and her brother Brad Nance.  She is survived by her son Richard (Joan) Hagaman, her daughters Robbyn (Mark) Sandhouse and Patti (Chris) Taylor, sisters Ginny Mallard and Deborah Nance, brothers Bill Nance and David Nance, her grandchildren Christopher Metzger, Fred Haste Rodd, Elayna Hagaman, Miranda Hagaman, Chrystian Taylor, Haley Taylor, Faith Hagaman, David Jagodinski and Martin Jagodinski, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Known as “Patt” to her friends and family, the eldest of six children, she was raised in the Baptist church and was a lifelong resident of Matagorda County.  She was a graduate of Van Vleck High School and lived most of her life in Bay City.  She was a baton twirler and played the clarinet in the Van Vleck Leopard band.  She was first runner up for Matagorda County Rodeo Queen.  She was a gifted artist, having her oil paintings shown in galleries throughout Texas and an active member for many years of the Art League of Bay City.  She was passionately involved with the March of Dimes.  She was also a talented singer, seamstress, cook and played the piano.

Patt was married to the love of her life, Robert, for 55 years.  They met on a blind date where fireworks began and never ended.  Even after Robert’s passing, Patt continued to speak about him like a schoolgirl with a crush and would often reminisce about that first date. Together they had four children and raised their family in Bay City.  With her husband, she enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and going to horse races.  She loved her family dearly.  She loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart and made special efforts to make wonderfully delicious family meals and special memories, always going to extremes at Christmas and other holidays to decorate her home festively and welcome everyone.

Patt was stricken with polio as a toddler and as a result, she required multiple hospitalizations and years of many surgeries to treat the deformities it caused to her leg, ankle and foot.  As a result, she grew up wanting to be a nurse to help people like the nurses who had helped her.  She attended Alvin Community College and obtained a degree in nursing.  Patt worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, holding numerous leadership positions throughout her career, at various medical facilities.  She was held in high esteem by her peers and colleagues in the local area medical community.  She began her career as an emergency room nurse at Matagorda General Hospital and ended her career at Poly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Nursing Services Administration.   She was a strong role model for her children and grandchildren.

In the most recent years of her life, Patt was a resident in a skilled nursing facility.  Because of the pandemic, like so many others, she was not able to see her family for the last months of her life due to being in protective lockdown.  Tragically, this did nothing to save her because, having never left that facility in all these months, she still developed Covid-19 infection and died as a result.

Patt will be missed dearly by her family and friends and will be remembered always with love.

Graveside services are 2:00 pm Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Cedarvale Cemetery, with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.

Kenneth Frank Heimann

Kenneth Frank Heimann 62, of Houston, passed away suddenly in his home on October 19, 2019. “Kenny” was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Frank and Estelle Heimann.  The family moved to the Wharton area when Kenny was in 2nd Grade.   He graduated from Wharton High School in 1975. While in high school he was involved with Band and Distributive Education starting his career in retail.

After High school he briefly attended Wharton County Junior College. He was employed by HEB grocers working in Wharton, Bay City, El Campo and Victoria.  After many years at HEB, he changed to Randall’s Food Market in the Houston area. While there he managed the “non – food (drug) section of stores across the Houston area.   The last 10 years he made a career change to Inventory Manager in Transportation at Ft. Bend ISD.  At the time of his death he was working out of the Lake Olympia Campus and had 12 + years with FBISD.

Kenneth was preceded in his death by his father, Frank L. Heimann and an infant brother, Joseph Heimann.  He is survived by his Mother, Estelle Patek Heimann of Wharton; Brothers, Robert J Heimann and wife, Helen of East Bernard, Edward R. Heimann and wife, Anna of Wharton; Sister, Shirley Price and husband, Brian of Houston.  He is also survived by Nephews, Billy and John Heimann of East Bernard, Brian Heimann of San Angelo, Scott Heimann of Victoria, Reece Price of Lockhart and Cody Price of College Station; Nieces Deanna Reeves of East Bernard, Susan Davis and Ann Matocha of Katy, Lisa Kinsey of Abilene, and Michelle Sherrod of League City. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews across many cities.

Although Kenny did not have any children of his own, he was an admired and respected uncle to all his niece and nephews.  He was also a godfather to Reece and Cody Price. When all the kids were young, he could be found on the floor playing with and entertaining them for hours. Kenny enjoyed gambling trips to Coushatta and reading.   He was a member of St. Justin’s Martyr Catholic Church in Alief, Texas.  He will be missed by all his close family and friends.

Kenny was born January 8, 1957 almost 2 years after Frank and Estelle had lost their 3rd son Joseph at birth.   At the time Estelle was told not to have any more children, but we are thankful that she did not listen to the doctors.   Kenny spent his younger years in New Braunfels, playing with his younger sister Shirley who joined the family 15 months later.  This was a period of no Air conditioning and they would spend hours in their pedal cars playing outside.   In the early 60’s when the family moved to Wharton life was the same.  Riding Bicycles, playing outside was the norm.   There were no electronics and one TV in the house. Summers meant time with cousins and neighborhood kids, no real “vacations”.  There was no eating out - you ate what was cooked.   But it was usually very good, homemade bread and fried everything.   You attended church – Kenny made his first confession, communion and confirmation at Holy Family church in Wharton.

Teenage years brought part time job at HEB to pay for whatever vehicle Dad found for you.  Normally a General Motors product – Kenny was always proud of his Chevy Trucks. Dances at the original riverside Hall in East Bernard and Knights of Columbus hall in El Campo to name a few.  Usually as a group with Shirley and friends.   There were a few girlfriends along the way but none that managed to make the cut. Kenny was always proud of his home and was a very good housekeeper.   Whenever family visited or stopped by house was immaculate.

In the beginning Kenny did not care for Houston.  He worked in Wharton, El Campo, Bay City and Victoria.   He was very proud to have purchased a mobile home and with each transfer the home was moved.  He did finally migrate toward Houston for his job at Randall’s.   Trailer was moved to Rosenberg / Richmond area for the last time.   Due to the housing bust in the late 80’s he was able to purchase a true brick and mortar home on the north side of Houston.   In 2002, Kenny sold this house and moved to upper Fort Bend County in the house he had today to be closer to work and his Godson’s Reece and Cody Price.   He would always pitch in to help pick up and watch the boys when needed.

Kenny took an interest in all his niece’s and nephew lives.   He attended Birthday, graduations parties, weddings and anything else to celebrate family.   Kenny was devoted to his mother Estelle after the loss of his Father Frank in 2001.  As a brother and brother-in- law he could be counted on to help with projects and family issues. We will miss you!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Wharton Funeral Home after 5 p.m.  A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m.  The Funeral mass  will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Father Bob Knippenberg officiating.  The Rite of Committal and Burial will be immediately following the mass at Evergreen Memorial Park Perpetual Care Cemetery in Wharton.  Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews Bill Heimann, John Heimann, Brian Heimann, Scott Heimann, Reece Price and Cody Price.
