David K. Gainer, Sr.
July 29, 1955 – Dec. 27, 2012
David K. Gainer, Sr. 57 passed away December 27, 2012. He was born
in Victoria, Texas July 29, 1955 to the late Benjamin Mack Gainer,
Sr. and Mary Carolyn Cain Gainer of Victoria.
David was very active in the oilfield business and owned his own
service company. He was an avid hunter and traveled the world. He
was a member of Safari Club International and brought home many
World Record trophies.
In addition to his Mother, he is survived by: his partner of 10
years Kathy Bush of Victoria; daughter, Molly Ann Gainer of
Victoria; son, David Kirk Gainer, Jr. of Victoria; brothers,
Benjamin Mack Gainer, Jr. and Michael Thomas Gainer, Sr. both of
Victoria; his precious grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Gainer, Shelby
Annette and Kali Elaine McCord.
The family will receive friends at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from 5
p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the
Rosewood Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Nick Stewart officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hawley Cemetery in Bay City, Texas.
Pallbearers will be David Gainer, Jr., Michael Gainer, Sr., Michael
Gainer, Jr., Benjamin Gainer, Jr., Benjamin Gainer, III, Carey
Zimmermann, Christopher McCord and Skip Welch.

Gamez, 62, of Bay City, died.
He was born June 16, 1942, in Cuero, to the late Frank and Francis
Gamez.
Survivors: wife, Delores Guzman Gamez; daughter, Martha Nava of Bay
City; sons, Jesse Guzman and David Gamez, both of San Leon, Ralph
Guzman and Frankie Gamez, both of Bay City, Victor Gamez Jr. of
Huffman, and Joe Gamez of Houston; sisters, Matilda Guajardo of Bay
City and Gloria DeLaRosa; brother, Jose Gamez; six grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: sisters, Geneva Perez and Isabel Benevides.
Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. today at Green's Mortuary chapel.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church,
the Rev. Jerry Cernoch officiating.

City, died April 29, 2005.
She was born September 6, 2000 in Galveston, Texas, to Juan Gaona
and Margarita Castellano.
Survivors include: parents, Juan Gaona and Margarita Castellano,
both of Bay City; paternal grandfather, Vicente Gaona of Bay City;
maternal grandparents, Francisco and Guadalupe Castellano of Mexico;
sisters, Emily Gaona and Floricen Villarreal, both of Bay City;
brother, Juan Manuel of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Emma Gaona.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Saul Garcia officiating.
The funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Our
Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerry Cernoch
officiating.
Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Guillermo Castellano, Tim Jamalo, Donald Crews

died Tuesday, May 29, 2001.
She was born March 5, 1910, in Olivia, to the late Marcelino and
Ventura Morales-Alvarez. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors: daughters, Mary Ann Garcia and Rebecca Torres, both of
Palacios; sons, Alfred Garcia, Albert Garcia, Tony Garcia, Nick

Mrs. Martinez was born March 8, 1922, in Gonzales, to the late
Benito and Matilda Arce Alvarez. She died Aug. 12, 2004.
She was a homemaker and a member of Apostolic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Francisco "Pancho" G. Garcia;
daughters, Petra Ochoa of Edna, Dominga Andrade and Gloria Martinez,
both of Palacios, and Benita Moreno of Allen; sons, John Martinez

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Julian L. Martinez;
daughters, Grace Martinez and Annette Martinez Long; and son, Jose

for Leonor Nevarez Garcia, 67, of Palacios, were held Oct. 9, 2004

Mrs. Garcia was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Falfurrias, to the late
Leonardo and Matinana Gonzalez Nevarez. She died Oct. 6, 2004.
She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
She is survived by daughters Guadalupe "Lupe" Garcia and Rosie
Garcia, both of Bacliff, Tx. and Janie Morales of Bayview, Tx.; sons

Palacios, and Leo Nevarez of Bunker Hill, Ill.; 34 grandchildren;
and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Eusebio "Walter" P. Garcia

Lucia Rodriguez
Garcia, 83, of Markham passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. She
was born April 10, 1929 in Sinton, TX to the late Ramon & Maria
Solis Rodriguez. Lucia was a member of the VFW Post 2438 Ladies
Auxiliary. Lucia’s life was all about her family, especially her
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to spend time
cooking for her family, and tending to her flower garden. Lucia was
a very loving and caring person.
She is survived by
her husband of 55 years: Albert Garcia; 2 daughters: Norma Trevino &
husband Jaime and Laura Garcia & husband Daniel; son: John Joe
Garcia & wife Idalia; 9 grandchildren: John Garcia Jr., Wendy
Prindiville, Albert Garcia, Miranda Medina, Steven Trevino, Daniel
Garcia Jr., Mark Garcia, David Alvarado, and Oscar Alvarado. 11
great grandchildren: Arianna, Albert, & Nicolas Garcia, Gavin &

84, of Palacios, died Nov. 6, 2000, at the Palacios Healthcare
Center in Palacios, Texas. She was born June 6, 1916, in Mexico to
the late Jacobo and Antonia Sanchez.
Mrs. Garcia was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and a
lifelong resident of Palacios.

Robert Garcia, 34, of
Austin, formerly of El Campo, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003.
He was born April 3, 1968 in El Campo to the late Jose L. Garcia and
Concuelo Resendez of Wharton. Mr. Garcia was a Catholic. He
graduated from Tidehaven High School in May 1988 and moved to Austin
after graduation for nine years then returned to Wharton County for
five years before moving back to Austin in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jacinto Garcia; and
grandfathers, Matias Tobar and Luis Garcia.
Survivors include his mother; step-father, Sesario Resendez;
grandmothers, Concepion Garcia of Markham and Paula Luna of Dallas;
daughter, Adoree A. Garcia of Austin; nephew, Cannan W. Garcia of
Blessing; and brothers, Joe Luis Garcia of Wharton, John H. Garcia
of Wharton and James M. Garcia of Lake Jackson.

Moia Giles, Jr.
Sept. 26, 1932 –Jan. 22, 2013
Moia Giles, Jr., 80, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at an Abilene
nursing facility under hospice care.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 in
the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St.
with burial following in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories
Cemetery, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral home located at 542
Hickory.
Moia was born in Bay City, Texas on September 26, 1932 to Moia Giles
Sr. and Juliette Giles.
He attended Van Vleck Herman High School and later joined the United
States Air Force in 1953. He always had an infatuation with
airplanes, which he learned to fly. Whenever he would fly home to
Bay City he would try to take everyone for a ride.
Moia spent 23 years in the Air Force and retired May 1973. He went
back to the Air Force as a civil service employee for another 25
years where he served in the Transit Maintenance, Dyess Commissary,
and Dyess Transportation and supply departments. Moia and his wife,
Bobbie, and daughters, Pamela and Shirley, made their home in
Abilene after his retirement.
His parents and sisters, Odie Mae Thomas and Eulalia Hawkins; and
nephews, Larry and Garry Thomas preceded him in death.
Survivors include: daughters, Pamela J. Giles of Frisco, and Shirley
Arrington of Abilene; grandchildren, Miracle and Jayson Nichols,
Geacoby Arrington, and Brian and Idell Stokes; great-grandchildren,
Christian and Glorianna Nichols, and Brittany and Imani Stokes.
Surviving in-laws include Roosevelt Thomas of Bay City, Yvonne
Choate of Fort Worth, James Cummings of Troy, and Miles Adams of
Abilene.

Elisa Rangel Gomez,
went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012. Elisa was born
on January 16, 1934 in Mercedes, Texas to the late Vincente and
Antonia Rangel. She was a true servant of God, helping those in
need. She always had a positive attitude and outlook on life.
She is survived by
her loving family, children, Ezkiel Gomez, Mary Stauffer & husband
Dean, Elias Gomez & wife Epifania, Esteban Gomez, Eli Gomez;
grandchildren, Faith, Audrey, Vicente, Renee, Emmanuel, Adriana;
sister Juana Gonzalez; brother, Jacobo Rangel; and numerous nieces ,
nephews and other loving family members. She is preceded in death by

Gomez, 47, of Bay City died June 11, 2001 in Bay City. She was born
March 12, 1954 in Palacios, Texas to Hilbert and Beatrice Hernandez
Morales. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church,
a resident of Bay City the past six months and a former longtime
resident of Palacios.
Survivors include: husband, Francisco Gomez of Bay City; mother,
Beatrice Morales of Rosenberg; daughters, Blanca Estella Gomez of
Plano, Texas, Suzanne Yvonne Gomez of Bay City, Stephanie Ann Gomez

Gonzales Jr., 55, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He was
born on October 9, 1957 to the late Francisco & Marcela Galvan
Gonzales Sr.. Francisco coached little league in Blessing from the
mid 90’s to about 2008. He loved woodworking and cooking. He was a
long time member of the Blessing Volunteer Fire Dept.
He is survived by
his loving wife: Irene Gonzales; 2 children: Kevin Gonzales Sr. &
girlfriend Kari Crain and Francisco Gonzales III; 2 grandchildren:
Kevin Jr. and Alizia Marie Gonzales; 9 brothers and sisters: Juan

Gonzales, 71, of Palacios, died October 15, 2000 at Palacios Health
Care Center in Palacios.
She was born Dec. 27, 1928 in Woodsboro, Texas to the late Valentin
and Jesusa Yanez Canales. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of the Baptist
Church and a resident of Palacios for the past 44 years.

Funeral services
for Janie Aparicio Gonzalez, 83, of Palacios were held July 8, 2002
at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Dwomoh
officiating. Interment was at Palacios Cemetery. She died Friday,
July 5, 2002.
A native of Goliad, she was born March 29, 1919 to the late Isaac
Jeiman and Manuela Villereal Aparicio. She was a homemaker and a
member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include the husband, Frank A. Gonzalez; daughter Anna
Gonzalez of Palacios; three sons, Frank Gonzalez of Palacios, John
Gonzalez of Lubbock and Jim Gonzalez of Victoria; six sisters,
Isabelle Garcia, Rosie Aparicio, Toni Garcia, Annie Morales, Frances
Buentello, all of Palacios, and Mary Silvas of Port Lavaca; two
brothers, Pete Aparicio of Victoria and Bernard Aparicio of
Palacios; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Aparicio.

Severa Gordon, 80, formerly of Palacios, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005.
She was born May 6, 1925, in Palacios, to the late John and
Seawillow Moore Adams.

El Rose Gordon of San Antonio, Gloria Glover of Houston, and Rubye

June Graham
(June 11, 1937 - March 12, 2013)
June Graham, 75, of Bay City passed away March 12, 2013. She was
born June 11, 1937 in Pioneer, Louisiana to the late Guy Ragus and
Sally Finley Ragus.
She graduated from Bay City High School in 1955 and dedicated her
life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include: her husband of 53 years, Bernard Graham;
daughter, Lori McShea and husband Larry of Murrysville, PA; son,
Bruce Graham and wife Brenda of Bay City; sisters, Evelyn Clarke of
Corpus Christi and Doris Watkins of Bay City; and grandchildren,
Jack Graham, Eric McCray, Bryan McShea and Scott McShea.
She was preceded in death by: one brother Guy Ragus Jr.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at
Cedarvale Cemetery with Larry McShea and Ladell Sump officiating.

Leila Green,
born as Thorleif Margret Benedikts in Iceland on March 8, 1935,
passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012.
She is survived
by her children Mary Anna Deshotels & husband George, Margaret
Laslie & husband Buddy and Austin Green. Also surviving are six
grandchildren Clara Leigh Bujnoch (Jason), Jesse and Lindsay
Deshotels, Lynn Ann Hough (Bubba), C. A. Laslie, Ariana Green &
Brittney Green; five great grandchildren Colt & Ross Hough, Ava
Bujnoch, Olivia Deshotels and Audrey Deshotels; three brothers Karl,
Jessep and Thordur and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her parents and husband, H. A. Green.

Joe B. Guerra,
Sr., 63, of Palacios died September 4, 2004 at Gulf Coast Medical
Center in Wharton, TX. He was born September 21, 1940 in San Benito,
TX to the late Jose and Catarina Pena Guerra.
Mr. Guerra was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a
lifelong resident of Palacios.
Survivors include: his wife: Olivia Martinez Guerra of Blessing, TX;
daughter and son-in-law: Catherina and Dario Sanchez of Beeville,
TX; son and daughter-in-law: Joe and Rachel Guerra, Jr. of Bay City;

Lidia L. Guerrero, 63,
of Blessing died April 25, 2003 at the Avalon Nursing Home in San
Antonio, Texas. She was born December 21, 1939 in San Juan, Texas to
the late Francisco and Natividad DeLaCruz Longoria. She was a life
long resident of Blessing.
Survivors include her husband: Ramiro Galvan Guerrero of Blessing;
two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana G. and Manuel Olvera and Dalia
G. and Roland Constancio all of Blessing; brothers, Raymundo
Longoria and Benito Longoria both of Blessing, Francisco Longoria,
Jr. of Santa Fe, Texas; four grandchildren, Manuel Olvera, Jr.,
Daniel Olvera, Roland Constancio and Ray Constancio all of Blessing.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Pedro and David Longoria.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2003, at
Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Neil Hartsfield and Willie Espinosa
officiating. Burial will follow at Midfield Cemetery in Midfield,
Texas.
