Joseph Henry Bagley

Joseph Henry Bagley, 65, of Bay City died Sept. 14, 1976 at St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was born Sept. 5, 1911 at Antlers, Okla. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Joann Bagley of Bay City; three sisters, Mrs. Sims McDonald and Mrs. Jerry Whitfield of Bay City and Mrs. Charles Chaplin of Palacios; one brother, W. W. Bagley of Houston; two nephews, three nieces; five great nieces; two aunts and a number of cousins. Pallbearers, include W. W. Wilkinson, Jr., W. L. Ellis, Chester Corporon, Gus Franzen, Mason Holsworth, and James Murry.  Services will be held at the Taylor Brothers Chapel Sept. 17, 1976 at 10 a. m. with the Rev. J. W. Baker of Baptist Temple Church officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Guy Temple Bailey

Guy Temple Bailey, 64, passed away in his home this weekend.  He is survived by: his widow, one son, Staton Hunter of Palacios; two daughters, Mrs. E. H. Moore Jr. of Dallas, and Mrs. Douglas Ingraham of Bay City; one granddaughter, Sarah Bailey Moore of Dallas.

Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Bay City Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Dick R. Elkins.  The Reverend Marion Horn of the Bay City Baptist Church will be officiating at the services.

Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

Pallbearers will be: Wayne Mott, W. C. Mariner, D. M. Rogers, H. W. Laird, Frank Banado, and Paul Sul.

Bailey resided on Horn Road in Bay City.  He was a motor route salesman for the Daily Tribune carrying routes southeast of Bay City.

Edward Balusek - Roselawn Memorial Park

Ed Balusek

Funeral services for Ed Balusek, 88, of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Bay City, will be held at 5pm Sunday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Mr. Balusek was born July 6, 1897, in Texas and died May 9, 1986, in Little Rock, Ark.  He was a longtime resident of Bay City and had lived in Little Rock five years.

Survivors include his niece, Alice Hinze of Sheridan, Texas; three nephews, Bates Balusek of El Campo, Alton Balusek of Boling, and Edwin Balusek of Garland, Texas; and sister-in-law Lena Balusek of Nada, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Balusek, Willie Sherrill Jr., Allan Sherrill, Eddie Lee Balusek, Tommy Balusek, Herbert Wayne Hinze, Darryl Hinze and Darryl Rush.

Arrangements with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Margaret Barr

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Margaret Barr, 76, of Bay City will be held 5 pm Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Frank Seaman officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Barr was born Dec. 24, 1907 in Bradford, Penn. And died  August 3, 1984 in St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital of Houston.

She was the daughter of Morgan J. Scudder and the former Bertha Blodgett.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, having served in many capacities over the past 45 years.  She was also a member of the Chatauqua and Study Clubs of Bay City and was a member of the Pink Ladies Volunteers Auxiliary of the Matagorda General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Barr on Aug. 5, 1980.

Survivors include: one daughter, Doris Ann Barr of San Antonio; two sons, James M. Barr of Houston and Richard D. Barr of Dhahran , Saudi Arabia; four grandchildren; and life=long friend, Doris Shillingburg of Bay City.

Honorary pallbearers will be B. F. Schulz, Woodrow Noster, Phil Wilson, Wayne Lee, Elmer Fanson and John O’Neil.  Pallbearers will be Wallace Barr, Hart Soli, Dr. Robert Kelly, Hack Huebner, Don Cowan and Virgil Fetter.

Arrangements were made with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Delma Barrett, 78, of Sugarland, will be held 2 pm Saturday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

 

Mr. Barrett was born Oct. 7, 1909, in Texas and died 4:43 am Dec. 31, 1987 at Southwest Memorial Hospital, Houston.

 

A 30-year resident of Bay City, he resided in Sugarland for the last three years.  He was a member of William Trace Baptist Church of Sugarland.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jean Brumley Barrett of Sugarland; two daughters and son-in-laws, Norma Jean and Eddie Voitle of Houston and Barbara Ann and Shorty Reznicek of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Althea Barrett of Bay City, a son and daughter-in-law Malcolm Ray and Janet Barrett of Midfield; two sisters, Ruby Nation of Maypearl, Texas, and Thelma Gann of Greenville, Texas; 15 grandchildren

 

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by a son, Buddy Barrett, and a daughter, Sandy Erieda.  Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Emilio S. Barron

Funeral services for Emilio S. Barron, 68, of Bay City will be held 10 am Friday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Miguel P. Balderena officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck.

Mr. Barron was born April 8, 1921, to Alejandro and Virginia Sanchez Barron and died Oct. 11, 1989, at Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City.

A resident of Bay City for 16 years, he was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, Ignacia Cervantes Barron of Bay City; four daughters, Esperanza “Hope” Dominguez, Alicia B. Lopez, and Blanca Estella Gonzales, all of Bay City, and Maria B. Ramirez of Wharton; four sons, Johnnie Barron of Bay City, Paul Barron of Victoria, Alex Barron of Kerrville and Daniel Caballero of Victoria; a sister, Herlinda Ochoa of Riverside, Calif.; a brother, Cipriano Barron of Lane City; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Leslie Wyche, Manuel Benavides Jr. Johnny Barron, Jr., Nick Quintanilla, Luis Montalbo and Melvin Rouse.

Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Roberto Lee “Robbie” Barron

Funeral services for Roberto Lee “Robbie” Barron, 15, of Van Vleck will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 17, 1999 at the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Bay City with Rev. Marvin Moore officiating.   Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Roberto passed away Wednesday, July 14, 1999 in Bay City.  He was born June 12, 1984 in Bay City to Roberto Aranda Barron and Melinda Sue Valdez Barron.

He was a student at Van Vleck High School, entering his sophomore year and was a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams.  He was a lifelong resident of Van Vleck.

He is survived by his parents, Roberto Aranda and Melinda Barron, by a sister, Jessica Rebecca Barron and a brother, Henry Joe Barron, all of Van Vleck.

Pallbearers will be Henry Barron, Alex Cantu, Gilbert Garza, Ranie Branson, James Hayden, Michael Hayden, Ernie Tabares, and Mando Tabares.

Sandra Laureen “Laurie” Bell

Sandra Laureen “Laurie” Bell, 16, of Bay City died in Houston October 16. She was a member of the Junior Class at Bay City High School and a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors are: Robert V. and Joann Bell, Sr. of Bay City; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mielsch of Bay City; brothers, Robert V. Bell, Jr. of Houston and Barry Douglas Bell of Taft, California; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Funeral services will be at the First Christian Church Saturday, October 11 at 3 pm with the Rev. H. Nell Hartsfield of The Church of God of Prophecy, Cleveland, TX and Rev. Robert Matheny of Oaks Christian Church, Houston officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund.  Cousins will serve as pallbearers.  Services under the direction of Dick R. Elkins, Bay City Funeral Home.
