T. C. Bruno Killed
Tuesday Morning From Tuesday’s Daily— T. C. ”Collie” Bruno, Bay City rearer prominent cotton dealer met a tragic death this (Tuesday) morning in an outhouse at his home on Avenue G., when a .410 gauge shotgun he was handling accidentally discharged, the charge of fine shot entering his head, killing him instantly. Mr. Bruno has had for a hobby for the past several years the raising of decoy ducks. For sometime some rodent has been preying on his flock and it is supposed he went to the nesting house, a small low structure with a very small door and, having the gun cocked, either stumbled or caught the trigger in such a way as to discharge it, with the terrible results recited herewith. The body was turned over to Taylor Brothers morticians and prepared for burial which will probably be Wednesday afternoon. T. C. Bruno was a likable, affable, and always pleasant man and associate. He was reared and educated in Bay City, graduating from the high school with the class of ’16. In 1917 he was united in marriage to Miss Joe Moore, daughter of Mr. J. D. Moore, of pioneer stock. In early life decedent took up the cotton business as a vocation and has followed it for many years. At the time of his death he was manager of the gins of Bay City Gin Company. The tragedy, which took him without warning and so suddenly from home, friends, and business associates, came as a distinct shock to the entire town and community, for the unfortunate man and his grief-stricken wife have many friends who will share with her their sorrows over his untimely end. Death came to him in the prime of business and social life and took from business and social circles a good business man, citizen, friend and associate. Our deepest sympathies are extended the bereaved.
