Ruth Epperson Brooks

Funeral services for Ruth Epperson Brooks, 79, of Bay City will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rod Tate officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck.

Mrs. Brooks was born Dec. 18, 1905, in Garvin, Okla. And died at 3:40 am Dec. 1, 1985, at Southwest Memorial Hospital, Houston. 

A resident of Bay City since 1940, she was a member of Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, William E. Brooks of Bay City and Glenn R. Brooks of Houston; three sisters, Dillard Axton of Idabel, Okla., and Dixie Salaz of Southington, Ohio, and Bernice Schalbach of Fort Worth; two brothers, Paul Maddox of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jack Epperson of Fort Worth; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include William E. Brooks, Jr., Glen Brooks, Jr., Darryl Brooks, Richie Mayhew, Steve Holten and Gayle Holton.

Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.

Tina Brod Brown
 

The home going of Tina Brod Brown was celebrated 2 p.m. April 30, 2002 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerl Watkins officiating.

Tina was born September 9, 1920 in East Bernard, Texas to the late Leander and Lucy Davis Brod. She died April 28, 2002 at The Legacy.

She served her Lord and her fellow man for many years by teaching Sunday School classes and trying to meet the needs she saw as she went along her way. She has, in the past, been an active member of both the First Baptist Church of Markham and of First Baptist Church of Wharton. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweeny. Tina was also active in the Rebekah Lodge and the VFW Post 2438 Auxiliary in Bay City before her illness. During her tenure as president of the Pilot's Club of Wharton, Tina was instrumental in establishing the "Lifeline" program in the Wharton area.

Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Charlie Crouch of Sweeny, Nancy and Bob Skinner of Bay City, and Susan and Frank Crain of Markham; two brothers and sisters-in-law, L.A. "Andy" and Virginia Brod of Edna, and John and Betty Brod of Boling; one sister: Mae Price of Wharton; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, especially the care givers on staff at the Legacy who have lovingly cared for her for the last five and a half years.

Pallbearers were her grandsons: Dale and Jon Wilhelm, Craig Hlavinka, Darrell Tomasek; granddaughters: Tina Hlavinka, Dawn Tomasek and Kari Crain; friends, Grady Quinney and Michael Trochta.

Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck. Arrangements were with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A00014B2002MY01

Ida Belle Brumley
December 02, 1922 - January 29, 2020

Ida Belle Brumley, 97, passed away in Deer Park, TX January 29, 2020. She was born December 2, 1922 in Dale, TX to Oliver Joe Crosson and Carrie Belle Starks Crosson.

Ida is preceded in death by her parents; husband Austin Brumley and son Dalton Ray Brumley. She is survived by daughters Marginel Fuson, Darlene White and husband Dale; son A.J. Brumley and wife Dee Dee; sister Ruby Sargent; brothers Oliver Joe Crosson, Jr., Lonnie Crosson and Tommy Crosson; grandchildren Ray Fuson, Kay Rios, Marsha Presbitero, Wayne Fuson, Darren White, Terry Brumley, Darla Priest, Dawn Larson, Clint Brumley, Ryan Brumley; 27 great-grandchildren and 19 great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 10: 00am Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas. Services will begin at 11:00am Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Orlin McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas.  Pallbearers are Grandsons Ray Fuson, Wayne Fuson, Darren White, Terry Brumley, Clint Brumley and Ryan Brumley.
