Jon "Bunt" Edward Abshier
WADSWORTH - Jon
"Bunt" Edward Abshier, 81, of Wadsworth, Texas passed away on May
30, 2012 in Wadsworth, Texas. He was born on September 8th, 1930 in
New Gulf, Texas to James R. Abshier and Lois E Lee. He married
Vivian Lucille Ottis on August 9,1951 in Wadsworth, Texas, where
they lived and raised their 5 children. He served in the United
States Air force for 4 years and was discharged with the rank of
Staff Sargent. After his military service he was employed with Texas
Gulf Sulfur and then worked for Celanese as a draftsmen. He and his
brother in law Charles Ottis took over the family rice farming
business 1966-1975. He was in the construction business for 10 years
and then the oil lease business for an additional 6 years. He retire
from the City of Bay City as the Director of Public works after 12
years of service. After retirement he ran a successful small engine
repairs service.
He enjoyed life to the fullest with the love of his life "Tut" for
60 years. Together they raised 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. 12
grandchildren and 16 great grand children. He was an avid fisherman
and hunter. A true outdoorsman who out fished the boys even on his
last fishing trip a just a month ago thanks to Al Garrison.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a
eucharistic minister, a member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel
3070 and the "PAPA Bear" of the Men's ACTS community. He was a
volunteer with the Matagorda Regional Hospital Auxiliary where his
smile brightened many a day.
He was proceeded in death by his father James R. Abshier, mother
Lois E Lee, brother James Robert (George) Abshier, and Sister Wanda
Estelle Alberts.
He is survived by his wife Vivian Lucille Abshier, Sister Karen (Toodles)
and husband Julian Williams; Sons; Kim O.and his wife Karen and
their children; Amy and husband Ricky Reyes and children Ester Rose
and Ian, Douglas Paul and wife Stacey; J. David and wife Melissa and
Gus; Charles S. and wife Sandi and their children Charlie T.,
Christopher L. and children Kyrsten, Madison, and Clayton; Chesny
and husband Chris Girouard and children Emily, Haylee, and Brindley;
Kaci and husband JJ Tindell and children Peyton and Maddox; Daughter
Beth A McDonald and husband JW and children Wendie and Bobbie
Bourroughs and their children Kaitlyn, Tawni, Asa, and Addi; Jeremy
McDonald and JoAnn and their children Mikayla and Blaine; Amber Joe
McDonald; Son Mitch J. and Paula and children Taylor and Lindsey. He
is also survived by a large number of nieces, nephews ,friends and
neighbors.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited 4:30 PM Sunday, June
3, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Following the rosary, the
family will be recieving visitors from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Mass of
the Resurrection will be held 10:00 AM Monday, June 4, 2012 at Holy
Cross Catholic Church with Father Greg Korenek officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are
grandsons and Honorary pallbearers are the ACTS brothers.
In lieu of usual remembrances the family request donations be made

Martin Acuna, Sr., 54, of Bay City will be at 10 am
Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev.
Casey Jarzombek officiating. Burial followed at
Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

pm Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home
Chapel.
Mr. Acuna died on Monday,
October 4, 1999 at his home. He was born on February 2,
1945 in El Campo, TX to Manuel Acuna and Juanita Delgado
Acuna.
He served as custodian of
the Holy Cross Catholic Church for the past 34 years.
He is survived by; wife,
Josephine Magnia Acuna of Bay City; daughters, Josephine
Delgado and Linda Acuna both of Bay City; sons, Martin
Acuna, Jr., Paul Anthony Acuna, Ricky Acuna, and Steve
Acuna all of Bay City; sisters Paula Vega of Glen Flora,
Adelpha Sanchez of Markham, Sulema Ramos of Garwood, and
Mary Gonzales of El Campo; six brothers, Manuel Acuna
and Albert Acuna of El Campo, Ralph Acuna and Benito
Acuna of Danevang, Jess Acuna of Wichita Falls and Joe
Acuna of Bay City; and by six grandchildren.

Brother Edward Adams
Brother
Edward Adams was born in Bay City, Texas, to the delight of his
parents, Robert Edward Adams and Allie May Worrell Adams. On January
17, 1945, he was born again into the Kingdom of God.
Among his
life accomplishments, he served his country in the Armed Forces at
the close of WWII, while building his family of one son and seven
daughters.
In 1960,
The Lord chose him as Founder and Pastor of Faith Temple Church in
Houston, Texas. In that same year, he began his career with Pipe
Distributors, Inc., retiring as vice president of operations after
30 years of dedicated service.
His
appreciation of nature and solitude brought him and Joyce to the
Piney Woods of East Texas.
He is
survived by: his grateful help meet of 39 plus years, Joyce Lovett
Adams; daughters, Gloria Hickman, Barbara and husband Joseph Smazik,
Patricia Rice, Betty and husband Vincent Incordona, Trudy and
husband Randy McCreight, Sherry and husband Loren Bennett and Marie
and husband Pat Relander; 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grand children;
one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
He is
preceded in death by: his parents; son, Robert Edward Adams; and his
siblings, Nettie Jarrell, Charlie Adams, George Wallace Adams, Allie
Joy Loudermilk, Willie Mae Hutchins and Ralph Adams.
A
gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, May 13, 2012 at
Cornerstone Church, 27453 Hwy. 105 West, Cleveland, Texas 77328 with
a Celebration of Life that followed on Monday, May 14, 2012 at
Cornerstone Church. He was laid to rest at Brookside Memorial Park
at 2 p.m.
In lieu
of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be made to
Cornerstone Church’s Van Ministry and Preschool Ministry.

Funeral services for Carol Darlene Adams, 54, of Bay City, will be
held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Mother Zion Baptist
Church, Bay City, with the Rev. Murray Martin, pastor, the Rev. Ben
Hadden, presiding, and the Rev. Roosevelt Ellis, eulogist. Burial
will follow at Eastview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home
chapel.
She was born in El Campo, Texas, July 20, 1958, to John Adams and
Edna Ruth Hadden Adams, and passed away September 1, 2012, in Sugar
Land, Texas. She was formerly employed at Walmart Stores in Bay
City.
Survivors include her mother, Edna Ruth Adams of Blessing, and one
son, Calvin Jamal Walker of Bay City; one sister, Bonnie Faye
Williams of Wharton, and one brother, John Anthony Adams of Bay
City; also a host of aunts, uncles, a host of other relatives and
friends.

Herbert Hoover Ainsworth, Sr., 72, of Baytown, passed away Sunday,
July 22, 2001 in Austin, Texas. He was born March 4, 1929 in
Colorado City, Texas to Sim A. and Lelah Walker Ainsworth. Formerly
of Bay City, he has resided in Baytown since 1979. He was a member
of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3232 in Bay City. He is survived
by his daughters, Elizabeth Sandra McCreery of Kosse, Texas, Lori
Rivera of Baytown, Texas and Sandi Maroney of Austin; by his sons
Herbert Hoover Ainsworth, Jr. of Bay City, Texas and Ray Ainsworth
of Baytown; two sisters, Wanda Collins and Imogene Ewton of
Channelview, Texas; sister-in-law, Zelma Ainsworth of Bay City;
brother, Jack Ainsworth of Channelview, Texas; and by 13
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Evalyn L. Ainsworth, 69, of Baytown will be at 2 p.

Ainsworth passed away Sunday, April 26 in Baytown.
She was born March 16, 1929 in Bay City to Willis
Lowe and Iva Mae Brown Lowe.
She was a former resident of Bay City, and was
employed as a secretary for Long Theaters.
She has been a resident of Baytown since 1979 and a
member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Hoover
Ainsworth, Sr. of Baytown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and
Michael Rivera of Baytown, and Sandi Blackwood Maroney with husband
Randy of Austin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ray Ainsworth of
Baytown, and Herbert Ainsworth, Jr. with wife Trish of Bay City; two
sisters, Norma Smith of Conroe, and Marie Mulligan of Bay City; and
10 grandchildren.

Sandra Kay Akin
BAY CITY - Sandra
Kay Akin, 50, of Bay City, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on
Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 in Victoria. She was born in Amarillo on Jan.
16, 1961 to James and Emmie Akin of Bloomington.
Sandra was a1979 graduate of Bloomington High School and a retired
bookkeeper.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her sisters-in-law,
Deanna Koster and Beth Davis; brother-in-law, Martin Koster; nieces,
Deandra Akin and Ashley Davis; nephews, Dustin Akin, Derek Koster,
Daylon Koster and Steven Davis; and brother, John Davis of Georgia.
Sandra was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Boryes and Barbara
Davis, and a brother, Steven Akin.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31,
2011 at Grace Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Bloomington,
with Rev. Richard Sparks and Dr. Gary Bowman officiating. Burial
will follow at Crescent Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Richter, Greg Richter, Martin Koster,
Dustin Akin, Glen Holland and David Rush.

services for Concepcion Diaz Florez Alamia, 83, of Palacios, Tx.,

Mrs. Alamia was born Sept. 1, 1928 to the late Victor and Auerlia
Flores in Luling, Tx. She passed away on Jan. 20, 2012.
She is survied by her husband, Julio Asocar Alamia, Jr.; daughters,
Alma Bello and Consuelo Rosales; sons, Richard Alamia and David
Alamia; 15 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Manuel Flores;
sisters, Monica Bitela and Julia Dolata; and brothers, Gregorio

Flores.

Mr. M. C. “Cy” Allen, age 75, of Bay City, will be held Saturday,
Oct. 12, 1996, at 11 a. m., at the Enterprise Baptist Church in Bay
City, with Rev. Kevin O. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at
Eastview Cemetery in Bay City.
Visitation will be
Friday until 9 p. m. in the chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home,
and Saturday from 10 to 11 a. m. at the church.
Allen was born in
Wharton on Tuesday, March 15, 1921, to William Allen and Sealy
Fisher, and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996, at Spring Branch
Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
“Cy” as he was
widely known, was employed by Independent Rice Dryer in Bay City for
over 50 years, and was admired as a good friend by those he met.
Survivors include
his wife of 47 years, Mrs. Dorothy Vinella Allen of Bay City, and
one daughter, Mrs. Bobbie Ward of Beaumont, Texas. Also three sons
and daughters-in-law, Glendale Walker (& Carol) of Houston, Curtis
Walker (& Katie) of Victoria, and Artis Allen (& Gladys) of Bay
City; and two adopted daughters, Mrs. Shirley Brown and Mrs. Edna
Clay, both of Bay City.
He also leaves one
sister, Mrs. Addie Latham of Wharton, 13 grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and a family of
other relatives and friends, which include a cousin-in-law, Mrs.
Jessie Mae Gordon, neighbors, and the devoted nieces and nephews who
shared these months of greatest need.
Beside his parents,
he was preceded in death by five sisters, Willie Orange, Josephine
Clay, Johnnie Bonner, Dorothy Dillingham and Juanita Lewis, and two
brothers, Jim Fisher and Fred Fisher.
Serving as active

Juan “Johnny”
Alvarado, 35, of Bay City went to Heaven on Thursday, August 23,
2012. He was born on April 16, 1977 in Bay City to Cesar Ramon &
Esmeralda Torres Alvarado. Johnny was a caring and hard working
person. He loved to fish, and spend time with his family and
friends.
Johnny is survived
by his parents: Cesar & Esmeralda Alvarado; daughter: Zoe Alvarado;
brothers & sisters: Cesar Alvarado Jr., Carmen Dominguez, Claudia
Solis, Yvette Lovett, and Alexander Alvarado; and by many other
loving family members.

Mrs. Alzner was born Jan. 29, 1923 in Palacios, Tx. to Ellis Adolph
& Ethel (Harbison) Jensen. She passed away July 30, 2012.
Her independent, determined, strong and brave nature will be missed

On November 15, 1976, a baby boy named Jeremy
VonCecil was born to Calvin and Freddie Amboree, in Lake Jackson,
Texas.
His mother, grandparents (Rogers and Ellener
Woodard), great-grandmothers (Mae Ollie Taylor and Ethel Cooper
Moore) and god-brother (Randy Mack) preceded him in death.
Jeremy graduated from Bay City High School in 1995
and went on to attend the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque on
a football scholarship.
He confessed Christ at an early age under the
leadership of Apostle F. L. Daniels where he remained until his
father was called to Pastor New Jerusalem Baptist Church in
Freeport. Later his father organized Living Word Christian Center –
Freeport and Living Word Outreach – Bay City and he followed his
father. As Jeremy took up residency in Albuquerque, he united with
New Hope Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Bishop David C.
Cooper.
On May 6, 2011, at 4:15 a.m. Jeremy departed this
life at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and went to join his
mother to give her the greatest Mother’s Day gift a son can give.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May
14, 2011, at Words of Life Church with the Pastor Samuel Nelson, Jr.
officiating and Apostle Calvin Amboree Eulogist. Viewing will be one
hour before service.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters,
Alyssa Symone Lewis of Clute and Desiree’ Yumi Amberly Amboree of
Bay City; one son, Mykal VonCalvin Amboree of Houston; father, Rev.
Calvin Amboree (Stefanie) of Lake Jackson; sister, Torsha Amboree of
Wharton; brother, Louis Hutchinson (Isis) of Houston; step-sister

Joe Eddie Anderson, 68, of Brazoria
passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in
Houston, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born
November 8, 1942 in Bay City Texas to Junior and Sofie Anderson.
Joe Eddie was a loving husband, father
and devoted friend to many. He attended Columbia High School and
was a 3rd generation resident of Brazoria. He retired
from Brazoria County Pct 4 after 36 years of service as a Heavy
Equipment Operator and Road Foreman. After retiring from the
County, a highlight for Joe Eddie was to work overseas in Syria as a
civil inspector responsible for earthworks, concrete foundations,
roads and other infrastructure of a major gas project. He loved
being outdoors hunting and fishing, gardening and working in his
barn. Additionally, Joe Eddie and Linda enjoyed time away from home
using their travel trailer and camping at the many lakes and
campgrounds around Texas. Joe Eddie stayed active and was doing
what he loved, operating heavy equipment, when fate overtook him.
He is preceded in death by his father,
Junior Anderson.
Joe Eddie is survived by his loving and
supportive wife of 38 years, Linda Anderson of Brazoria; mother,
Sofie Anderson of Fredericksburg, TX; sons, Brent Anderson of
Houston, TX, Chad Anderson of Brazoria; daughter Shelley Wise,
son-in-law Kerry Wise and grandson Kieron Wise all of Bensenville,
IL.; brother, Roger Anderson of Fredericksburg, TX; brother-in-law,
Charles Reed and spouse Verna of Brazoria; and a host of other
relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be Tuesday June
21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Brazoria
with Rev. Greg Oberg and Marc Rimanto officiating.

Kathy Ann Anderson
Kathy Ann Anderson, 37, of Laranger,
La. died Monday April 10, 2000.
She was born June 7, 1962 in Bay City to Robert Glyn and
Virginia Owen Smith.
She is survived by her husband Jack Anderson of Loranger, La;
her parents, two sons Robert Joseph Frazier and Tyler James
Anderson both of Loranger, La; two sisters, Angela Grider of
Port Lavaca, Texas and Terry Williams of McKinney, Texas; her
grandmothers, Myrtle Owen of Bay City and Ellie Smith of Jasper,
Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2000
at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Ramsey
officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in
Van Vleck.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Wendy Smith and one
son Rodney Frazier.
Pallbearers include Robert Heisler, Jeff Heisler, Gary Scott,
Christopher Owen, Jimmy Reddock, and Nolan Chambless.

Thomas
John "Tom" Anderson, 87, of Bay City, passed away at the
Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City, TX.
Tom was born in Bay City on June 24, 1915 to parents R. Lee
and Lucy F. Lowe Anderson.
He grew up in Bay City and was active in service
organizations and was the first Junior Jaycee president.
After graduating from Rice University, he served as an FBI
Agent until he returned to Bay City to run Anderson Car
Sales. He also owned and ran Anderson Marine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert,
a sister, Pearl Friday, and a sister, Maybelle Harper.
He is survived by: his wife, Verna H. Anderson of Bay City;
son and daughter-in-law, Robert Thomas and Faye Anderson of
New Braunfels, a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Zipp and
Terrie Anderson of Seguin; daughter and son-in-law, Kitty
and Ray Wainner of Boerne; a brother, Roy Lee Anderson of
Bay City; and his mother-in-law, Katherine J. Zipp of Bay
City; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10,
2002 at the First Baptist Church in Bay City, with Dr.
Michael Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at
Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Pallbearers were: Derek Anderson, Bobbie Anderson, Lt. Col.
Robert S. Wainner, Robin Wainner and Andrew Wainner.
Honorary pallbearers were: Don Wells, Glyn Kinsey, Andy
Anderson, Carl Anderson, Orlando Schraub, Ray Svetlik,
members of his men’s Sunday School class and the coffee shop
guys.
A visitation with the family was Monday, September 9, 2002
at the Bay City Funeral Home from 6 until 9 p.m.

Verna Hazel Zipp
Anderson
Feb. 27, 1921 – Sept. 15, 2012
Verna Hazel Zipp Anderson, a long-time
resident of Bay City, Texas went to be with our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on September 15, 2012, after a short but
courageous fight with Acute Leukemia.
Verna Anderson, 91, was born at her home in
San Antonio, Texas on February 27, 1921, to Robert Gottlieb
Zipp and Katie Foerster Zipp.
Verna was an active member of the First
Baptist Church of Bay City for more than 65 years where she
taught Sunday School, played the piano for the children for
over 35 years and was very active in the Senior Church Group
for many years.
She served as an active Pink Lady at
Matagorda General Hospital since 1968 and loved working with
the patients and doctors she came in contact with.
She was a recipient of the Star Performance
Recognition Award for her dedicated service to Matagorda
General Hospital.
She was an accomplished pianist, bridge
player, and antique collector. She loved working with
handcrafts, flowerbeds, traveling the United States and
foreign countries, and recreational traveling with her
beloved husband Tom Anderson and their many friends.
Verna or “Bocky”, as her grandchildren
affectionately called her, was a proud descendent of German
ancestors who immigrated to the United States In the 1840s
to Schumannsville near New Braunfels, Texas.
She grew up in New Braunfels and later San
Antonio where she started elementary school and later
graduated with the 1939 class of Brackenridge High School in
San Antonio.
At Brackenridge she was a proud member of the
Purple Jackets Marching Team. Verna spoke only German and
had to learn English in elementary school.
She attended a business school in San Antonio
and after graduation went to work as a bookkeeper for
General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) in San Antonio.
While working for GMAC, she met the love of her life and
future husband of 61 years, Tom Anderson.
Tom had recently graduated from Rice
University and was working for GMAC. They were married on
March 9, 1941, and shortly afterwards Tom went to work for
the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
They were stationed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
Omaha, Nebraska, and New York, New York, during World War
II. After the war Verna and Tom moved to Bay City, Texas
where they lived out their lives.
Verna was preceded in death by: her parents,
Robert Zipp in 1981, Katie Zipp in 2005, and her husband,
Tom in 2002. Verna took care of her mother for several years
until she died at the age of 106.
“Bocky” is survived by: her daughter, Kitty
Wainner of Boerne, Texas; and sons, Tommy Anderson of New
Braunfels, Texas and Jackie Anderson of Seguin, Texas. She
is also survived by nine grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday
from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Bay City Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in
Bay City with Dr. Michael Zimmerman officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial
Park in Van Vleck. Her grandsons, Bobby Anderson, Derek
Anderson. D.J. Baker, Robert “Robby” Wainner, Robin Ray
Wainner, and great grandson Joshua Wainner will serve as her
pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Bay City or
to Houston Hospice of El Campo.

Hazel Mae
Andrews-Gola, 90, of Bay City, went to be with
her Lord and Savior in her home on Monday,
January 23, 2012. She was born on January 10,
1922 in Matagorda County to the late Larkin &
Myrtle Mullins Brumley. Hazel loved her Lord,
and faithfully attended church as her health
permitted. She served as a Teacher of Sunday
School Classes, and was an avid prayer warrior.
Hazel was married
for 38 years to Andy Andrews, until his death,
later she married Charlie Gola. They were
happily married for 7 years before his death.
Her younger sister Faye Hadley of Alabama
survives her.
The family will
receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday,
January 26, 2012 at the Family Worship Center of
Bay City, 2717 9th St., with Rev. Jimmie
Guerrero officiating. Interment will follow at
Cedarvale Cemetery.

Funeral services for Fannie Armelin, 82,
of Bay City, are scheduled for 11 a. m. Saturday at Tyree Chapel A.

East View Cemetery in Bay City.

9 p. m. Friday at Green’s Mortuary and from 10 – 11 a. m. Saturday

Mrs. Armelin was born June 2, 1911, in
Lynville to Hampton and Carrie Rose Boone and died May 30, 1994, in
Matagorda House. She was a member of the Methodist church and the
Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth Court.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois
A. Armelin of Bay City, Carrie Metoyer and Brenda Armelin, both of
Houston; three sons, Wellington, Hampton and Roy Armelin, all of
Houston; three sisters, Erma Stevens, Naomi Young and Lottie
Witherspoon, both of Bay City and Reginald Armelin of Los Angeles,
Calif.; a sister-in-law, Lucille Jordan of Waco; a son-in-law,
Reginald Metoyer of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Vernita Armelin of
Houston; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Floyd White, John Paul
Davis, Andrew Caldwell, E. H. Allen, Sammie Wright and Marshall
Whitley Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Alphonse Revis,
Roy Armelin, Wellington Armelin Jr., Hampton Armelin, Reginald

Karolina Agnes Arnold, 93,
of Bay City, Texas, died August 6, 1981, at Matagorda General
Hospital. She belonged to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Sons
of Herman. Survivors include a son, Willie Arnold of Bay City,
seven grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral service
was held at Taylor Brothers Chapel on Saturday, August 8, 1981,
at 11 AM with Pastor Marvin Ottmers officiating. Interment
followed in Cedarvale Cemetery. Arrangements were with Taylor

Louis Arnold Dies Here This
Morning
Mr. Louis Arnold, 73, retired farmer
of Route 1, Bucks Bayou Road died this morning at 6:40 at his
home. Mr. Arnold came to Bay City in 1913 and farmed in this
community for forty odd years, until his retirement.
He was a member of the Lutheran
Church, Sons of Hermann Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, two sons,
Albert Jr. and Willie H., both of Route 1, Bay City; two
brothers, Hermon of Bay City and Fred of Arcadia.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p. m.

Mrs. Austin was born April 1, 1929 in

She was a member of the Baptist Church
and a widow.

Smith of Bay City; three sisters, Helen Hall of Houston, Vivian

Herman “Goat” Young in 1994.

Donald Lee Auzton
Sept. 5, 1938 – Aug. 29, 2012
Donald Lee Auzton, 73, of Orting, Washington, passed away peacefully
at home surrounded by family on August 29, 2012.
He was born in Galveston, Texas on September 5, 1938 to Richard
Garrett and Emely Charlotte Auzton.
He is survived by: his wife, Joan Marie Auzton; three children; four
brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
A
memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012
at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 917 Nichols,
Bay City, Texas.

Freddie Alma Axel Sr.
Funeral services for Freddie Alma Axel
Sr., 65, of Wharton, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Little
Concord Baptist Church with Rev. T.J. Cunningham officiating. Burial

6-9 p.m. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Axel died at his home Aug. 3, 2003. He was born Feb. 25, 1938,
in Bay City to Otto and Gussie Woods.
Survivors include wife, Cheryl Johnson Axel of Wharton; sons,
Freddie Alma Axel Jr. and Cornelius De Voll Axel, both of Atlanta,
Ga.; daughters, Michele Antoinette Cook of Uvalde, Denise Marie Axel
of Dallas, Terry Lynn Hoffpauair of Lewisville, Shenequa Shanae’
Johnson and Jacqueline Joyce Johnson, both of Wharton; and seven
grandchildren.
