The Matagorda County Historical Commission
recognized two individuals for their contributions to the
preservation of Matagorda County history during the Texas Historical
Commission's History Preservation Month "This Place Matters"
emphasis.

Mike Reddell was recognized for the
history columns published in the Bay City Tribune for
the last ten years. Mary Belle Ingram made the
presentation. |

|
Robert Davant was honored for his
efforts in restoring and preserving the Grimes Family
Cemetery. Making that presentation was Mary Johnston,
MCHC Preservation Month chairman.
