Virgie Mae Hagerman Virgie Mae Hagerman, 85, of Matagorda passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 in Houston. She was born October 24, 1923 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Alma Carter Drake & George Drake. Virgie was a 50-year resident of Matagorda, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Matagorda, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post # 4459, and was the co-owner of the Fighting Shrimp Bait Camp in Matagorda. She is survived by her sister: Carmen Hoggarth in Bellingham, WA and brother: Jimmy L. Drake of University Place, WA. Virgie was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Bing Hagerman. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Matagorda Cemetery.

Patricia Kay Fayle Hall Funeral services for Patricia Kay Fayle Hall, 43, of Matagorda were held 3 p. m. Sunday at Taylor Brothers Funeral home chapel with the Rev. C. J. Molmen officiating. Burial was in the Matagorda Cemetery. Mrs. Hall was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Cedar Bayou, Texas, to Jesse Leroy Fayle and Ella Mae Stubbs and died Sept. 5, 1987, at Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City. A resident of Matagorda for 11 years, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Matagorda. Survivors include her husband, Larry Lee Hall of Matagorda; her parents, Jesse Leroy and Ella Mae Stubbs Fayle of Matagorda; two daughters, Jessica Lee and Tonya Denise Hall of Matagorda; two sisters, Nelda Faye Fayle Holcombe of Matagorda and Rita Pauline Fayle Johnson of Alabama; a brother, Donald Loyd Fayle of Louisiana; and a granddaughter, Amanda Lee Hall. Pallbearers were Dave Springston, Simon DeSoto, Dewey Holcombe, Chris Aryon, Flor Reyes and David Carlock. In lieu of the usual contributions, donations can be made to the Lupus Foundation. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.

Bay City—Funeral services for Tonja France Hargrove, 53, of Bay City, will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 4 p. m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Burial will be at Matagorda Cemetery in Matagorda. She was born January 17, 1959 in Springfield, Mo., and died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Matagorda Regional Medical Center. Viewing will be Saturday from 3 – 4 p. m. at the church. Green’s Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Phillip Frederick Hauff, 76, of Matagorda, died Nov. 3, 1976 at his home. He was born June 11, 1900 in Hill County, Texas. Survivors include Mrs. Maudie Hauff of Matagorda; four daughters, Mrs. Stella Phillips, Mrs. Marie Gasaway of Pasadena, Mrs. Dorothy Boley of Sweeny and Mrs. Joyce Schneider of Port Lavaca; two sons, Kenneth and Clyde Hauff of Matagorda; one sister, Mrs. Maudie Husak of Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Hauff was a retired rig operator for Parker Brothers and had been a resident of Matagorda for 10 years. Services will be held at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Chapel at 2 p. m. Friday, Nov. 5. The Rev. Franklin Files of Sweeny Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Matagorda Cemetery. Arrangements with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Hauk was born Sept. 11, 1913, in Glen Rose, Texas, to Robert Louis and Nellie Stevenson Hauk and died Jan. 4, 1990, at Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Matagorda. Survivors include his wife, Clara Lee Hauk of Matagorda; a son, Robert Louis Hauk of Angleton; sisters, Lela Smith of Cleburne and Gertrude Morris of Houston; brothers, Roy Hauk of Carlsbad, N. M., and Floy Hauk of Lodi, Calif.; three grandchildren, Bobby Hauk, Debra Sneath and David Hauk; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Sneath and Braxton Hauk. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Green Hawes, age 91, of Galveston, will be held Saturday, September 2nd, at 2:00 P. M., at the Community Baptist Church in Matagorda, with Rev. Isaiah Gartica officiating. Burial will follow in Matagorda Cemetery in Matagorda. Visitation will be Friday until 9 P. M. in the Chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Hawes was born to Sam Green and Annie Royster Green on Monday, July 4, 1904, in Edna, Texas, and died Saturday, August 26, 1995, in Galveston, Texas. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wormley of Brooklyn, New York, and Mrs. Wilma Holt of Matagorda, and two sons, Rudolph Hawes of Los Angeles, Calif., and Cecil Hawes of Galveston. Also one foster son, Charles Roberson, and one brother, Lafe Green, both of Galveston. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emmitt Hawes, two sons, Luther Hawes and Emmitt Hawes, Jr., and two sisters and two brothers.
