Funeral services for Carl Edward Gormey, 75, will be held 10 a. m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Oliver Southall officiating. Interment will follow at Matagorda Cemetery. This quiet gentle Christian man has gone to be with the Lord on Dec. 15, 1999. He was born Aug. 22, 1924 to Lynn Dolph and Maude Elmira Gormey. He served our country during World War II in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Ashland. Survivors include: his wife of 34 years, Charlene Huntsman Gormey; nine children, Larenda Nicar, Regina Layton, Tommy Dannhaus, Joe Stuber, James Gormey, John Gormey, Nada Sample, Clark Maden and Paul Maden; one brother, Lynn Gormey, Jr.; two sisters, Berry McCune and Dolly Gormey; ten grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends who all miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Mark; and by one grandson, Kevin. Pallbearers include: Joseph Stuber, Clark Maden, James Gormey, John Gormey, Henry Nicar, and Henry Sample. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
