Andrea Sardinea Hill

BAY CITY - Andrea Sardinea Hill, 40, of Bay City, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006.

She was born Jan. 11, 1966, in Bay City, to Delores Sardinea of Bay City and Andrew Sardinea Sr. of Houston.
 
Survivors: husband, Michael Hill; stepmother, Gertrude Sardinea of Houston; daughters, Paulette Sardinea and Andrilaka Sardinea, both of Bay City; son, Kerverius Sardinea of Bay City; sisters, Linda Sardinea, Tanisha Sardinea, Patricia Sardinea, Sharon Brown, Tara Flye, and Paula Allen; brothers, Andrew Sardinea Jr., Harland Hadden, Tony Hadden, and Robert Brown; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mother Zion Baptist Church, the Revs. Murray Martin and T.L. Richardson officiating.

Andrea “Maye” Sardinea Hill

On January 11, 1966, a baby girl was born in Bay City, TX to Andrew & Delores Sardinea and they named her Andrea Maye Sardinea.

At an early age Andrea accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. H. Pointer. Later joining New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T. L. Richardson.

Andrea (Maye) was united in marriage to Michael Hill on December 13, 1998 in Bay City, TX. She was a graduate of Bay City High School class of 1984/85.

Her earthly journey came to an end on this side, but began on the other side Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 7:00 a. m. in her home at age 40.

Maye will be met on the other side of Glory by her grandparents Alice Johnson, Russel Thomas Sr. along with Cedo & Mary Sardinea. Her uncles Larry & Lonnie Sardinea and Earl Johnson.

Maye leaves to mourn but always loving and cherishing her many memories in their hearts her husband Michael Hill; two devoted daughters Paulette “Artreece,” Andrilaka “Sade” (Sterling) and one son Kerverius “Doc” Sardinea all of Bay City, TX; Two God children, Kay-Lee Williams & Alaysha Redus; Four precious grandchildren: A’mayah, A’zyriah, Amarion Payton and Aaliyah Jones all of Bay City, TX. Michael Jermaine ("Mikey") Holmes, Jr.
November 24, 1998 ~ July 21, 2017

On November 24, 1998, a bubbling baby boy was born to Michael Jermaine Holmes Sr. and Jalandra Annette Holmes in Angleton, Texas whom they named Michael Jermaine Holmes Jr. better known as “Mikey.”

Mikey’s first few school years were spent in Bay City, Texas  but he later attended school in Brazosport ISD where he graduated from Brazoswood High School in January 2017. Mikey was baptized at the tender age of 16 at South Side Church of Christ, under the leadership of Brother Clovis Mitchell.

Mikey was very loving and always had a smile on his face.  He was active in sports and loved what every teenager enjoyed “playing video games”.

Mikey’s transition came to a new beginning on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Clute, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Bobbie Morgan Eaton and LoKathryn White; grandfather, Sam Allen; aunts, Delorian Morgan and Linda Eaton; and uncles, Archie and Kenneth White.

Mikey leaves to cherish his precious memories:  his mother and father Michael Holmes Sr. and Jalandra Holmes; sisters, Maurisha Morgan, Mariah Quinn and Mykesia Holmes; brothers, Maurice Morgan (Daniela), Marquez Holmes, Devin Toney, Treyson Wilson,  Mi’Karion Holmes, and Jae’vin Grice; nephews, Christian Smith, Macen Smith, and Makhah Morgan; niece, Aubrey Estrada; grandparents, Brenda Morgan and July Franklin; aunts,  Charlotte Morgan, Eugenia Philips (John), Marsha Morgan, Beverly Knoxon, Roslyn White, Michelle Lemons, Rhonda Robinson, and Africa Franklin; uncles, Gregory Morgan, Bobby Morgan, Darrell White, Gerald White, Keith White, Terrell White and July Franklin (Valencia); loving and most cherished special aunt, Kimberly White Good; special cousins, Anthony White (Dewanda) and their children, DeAnthony and Drake; Godmothers, Valecia Lowe and Ramona Williams; and a host of great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Leatha Williams Jackson, 50, of Bay City, will be at 12 p. m. Friday, Oct. 16 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham, Rev. James C. Ashton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Markham Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday until 9 p. m. in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral chapel, and from 11 a. m. to 12 p. m. Friday at the church.

Williams was born in Markham Sunday, Feb. 8, 1948 to Jessie Williams and Emily Boone Williams, and died Friday, Oct. 9 in Bay City. She graduated from Hilliard High School in Bay City.

She then attended Hick’s Beauty School in San Antonio, and then enrolled in nursing school.

Before her death, Williams was employed as an L. V. N. at Monte Siesta Nursing Home in Austin.

Williams is survived by daughter, Ramona; a foster daughter, Stephanie; godson, Jeffrey; four grandchildren, Dushawn, Kisha, Cardell, and Eddie, all of Bay City; sisters, Jessie Lee Parr, Wanda Davis (and Horace) Jeanette Williams, and Anna Williams, all of Bay City, Hester Edison (and Michael), and Rita Hines (and Morris), all of Markham; brothers, C. B. Williams (and Barbara) of Austin, Carnell Williams (and Joyce) of San Antonio, Daniel Williams, and Jeff Williams, both of Bay City, Ralph Williams, and Otto Williams (and Desiree) of Pittsburg, Calif.; aunts Martha Tillman of Galveston, Loretta Greer and Evelyn Williams, both of Houston and Amy Singletary of Van Vleck; uncles, James Lee Boone of Galveston, Levi Boone, Jr. of Markham, and U. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Williams and Irene Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be C. B. Williams, Carnell Williams, Daniel Williams, Ralph Williams, Otto Williams, and Jeffrey Williams.

Leatha Ruth Williams Jackson

Leatha Ruth Williams, the daughter of (now the late) Jessie Williams and Emily Boone Williams, was born in Markham, Texas, Saturday, February 8, 1948.

She grew up in the community of her birth and attended A. Jefferson Intermediate School in El Maton, Texas. Later, with her other siblings, she attended Hilliard High School, Bay City, Texas.

Leatha accepted Christ at an early age. Throughout life she fought the good fight and kept the faith.

In early adulthood, she enrolled at Hick’s Beauty School in San Antonio, and also studied at Nursing School. Prior to her demise, she was employed at Monte Siesta Nursing Home, Austin, Texas as an LVN.

She was a loving mother to her caring daughter, Ramona, foster daughter, Stephanie, and god-son, Jeffery, and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. In her passing, she will be missed by those whose lives she touched.

Her transition from this life came Friday, October 9, 1998, in Bay City, Texas, at 5 P. M. By her passing at 50 years, 8 months and 1 day, she leaves beautiful memories to a devoted daughter, Ramona Williams, a foster daughter, Stephanie Williams, a god-son, Jeffery Williams, and four grandchildren, Dushawn, Kisha, Cardell and Eddie, all of Bay City. Also six sisters, Mrs. Jessie Lee Parr, Mrs. Wanda Davis (& Horace), Ms. Jenette Williams, and Ms. Anna Williams, all of Bay City, Mrs. Hester, Edison (& Michael) and Mrs. Rita Hines (& Morris), all of Markham; and six brothers, C. B. Williams (& Barbara) of Austin, Carnell Williams (& Joyce) of San Antonio, Daniel Williams and Jeff Williams of Bay City, Ralph Williams and Otto Williams (& Desiree) of Pittsburg, California. Boone of Palacios; a host of nieces, nephews an extended family of cousins, other relatives and a family of many, many friends.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Johnnie Mae Williams and Irene Williams.

Mary Lynn Johnson

On December 17, 1947, a baby girl was born to Thelma Kuykendall and Joe B. Allen, whom they named Mary Lynn Allen. As a child Mary grew up in Goliad, Texas. Later on her family moved to Markham where she attended public school and graduated from Tidehaven High School.

On January 18, 1972, Mary married in holy matrimony to Lorenzo Johnson. To this union two sons were born.

She departed this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Houston, Texas.

She leaves to mourn her loving memories, two sons: Larry Johnson and Joe Johnson (Juanita); mother: Thelma Kuykendall; one brother: Otis Allen (Margaret); two sisters: Brenda Scarlett (Darrell) and Linda Johnson (Douglas); four God-sons: Kiko, Shawn, Patrick and Bruce; four special friends: Demetria Moore, Gloria Carter, Maria Martinez and Jo Bensfield; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. D. Johnson; father, Joe B. Allen; sister, Michelle Kuykendall; and brother Joe G. Allen.

Moses Jones

Mose Jones

On November 14, 1915, a baby boy was born to the late Arthur and Carrie Jones, whom they named Moses.

Little Moses grew up in the Brazoria Community and here he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age in life.

Later he moved to Markham, Texas and was joined in Holy Matrimony to Miss Pearl Boone.

God called him to his eternal resting place on Monday, April 30, 1990 at 6:00 P. M. in the Lake Jackson Nursing Home.

His many memories will always remain in the hearts of his loving daughter, Mrs. Patricia Murdock of Houston, seven sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Byrd, Mrs. Louretta Bess and Mrs. Lora Bonner of Houston, Mrs. Catherine Thompson and Mrs. Ola Mae Moore of Hitchcock, Mrs. Bernice Robinson and Mrs. Jimmie Lee Millie of Galveston, four brothers, Arthur Jones, Jr., Lonnie Jones, Sr., Lee Andrew Jones and Alfred Jones of Brazoria, five grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Pearl Jones, 84, of Bay City, will be held Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Bay City with the Rev. L. C. Cunningham Jr., eulogist. Burial will follow at Markham Cemetery in Markham.

Visitation will be Wednesday, until 9 p.m. in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.

She was born in Caney, Texas on Monday, October 17, 1917 to Matt Woolsey and Lucy Farris Woolsey. She passed away Thursday, October 18, 2001 at The Hospice, Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

She was known as "Totsie" and had a kind spirit and sincere love for others.

Survivors include: four sons, Herman Woolsey and Warnell of Palacios, Willie Boone, Jr. and Sheila of Bay City, Ronnie Frater and Beverly of Victoria and Matt Williams and Michelle of Pittsburgh, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew, Traci, Tammie, Loraine and Vincent and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Sam Brown, Eddie Williams, Mack Brown, Freddie Williams, Clinton Wyche and Sylvester Boone.

Pearl Jones

On Monday, October 10, 1917, Matt and Lucy Woolsey were blessed with a baby girl, born in Caney, Texas whom they named, Pearl. After the death of her father, her mother married Henry Harrison who raised Pearl and her sister in a nurturing and Christian environment.

Her earliest education was attained at the Markham Community under Mrs. Amelia Johnson.

Her religious upbringing carried her over into her adult life and extended until her health failed.

"Totsie," affectionately known by all who knew and loved her, was an extraordinary lady. She was a hard-working independent mother who adored serving God and caring for her friends, family and grandchildren.

Her many loving memories will always remain in the hearts of her four loving and devoted sons, Herman (Warnell) Woolsey of Palacios, Willie Boone, Jr. (Sheila), Ronnie Frater (Beverly) of Victoria, and Matt Williams (Michelle) of Pittsburg, California, three caring and devoted nieces and nephew, Loraine, Traci, Tammie and Vincent of Houston, 17 grandchildren. Fourteen great-grands and two great-great nephews and other relatives as well as family of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Lucy Woolsey, Henry Harrison, one daughter, Betty Jean and one sister, Eliza.
