Roosevelt Edison
Funeral services for Roosevelt Edison, 41, will be
Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at 11 a. m. at Enterprise Baptist Church with
the Rev. M. E. Matthews officiating. Body will lie in state Friday Dec.
17 from 4 to 8 p. m. at Enterprise Baptist Church with wake service from
1 to 3 p.m.
Burial will be at Markham Community Cemetery.
Mr. Edison died on Dec. 13, 1999, at Herman
Hospital. He was born June 10, 1958 in Bay City to Robert Lee Clark and
Katherine Edison.
Survivors include: wife, Sharon Sardinea;
daughters, Roslyn Edison, Shavondra Barnes, Ednika & Edquita Williams;
sons, Roosevelt Edison, Jr., Lakendrick Harris; sister, Ora Edison,
Thais Stenson, Linda Davis, Shirley Brown, Janie Mae White, Phyllis
Clark; brothers, Willie Edison, Randy Edison, Lawrence Edison; and seven
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Lee Callis and Victor
Sanford.

Roosevelt Edison
On June 10, 1958 in Bay City, TX, a baby boy was born
to the late Katherine Edison. He was named Roosevelt and was the
youngest of eight. At an early age Roosevelt accepted Christ as his Lord
and Savior and was baptized by Rev. A. H. Pointer. He later moved to
Houston.
Roosevelt was united in marriage to Sharon Sardinea
on June 23, 1978. He is preceded in death by his parents: Catherine &
Robert. His earthly journey came to a close Monday, December 13, 1999 at
Hermann Hospital in Houston at the age of 41.
He leaves to mourn him, but always to love and let
his many loving memories remain in their hearts, his devoted wife,
Sharon Edison, two sons: Roosevelt, Jr. & LaKendrick Harris both of
Houston, two daughters: Roslynn Edison of Doul, Georgia & Shavondra
Barnes of Houston. He leaves two step-daughters Ednika and Edquita
Williams of Houston, two other sons: Jerrod & Ronnie, and a
father-in-law Cedo Sardinea, Sr. He also leaves six sisters and five
brothers respectively: Ora Edison of Hobbs, New Mexico; Thais and Billy
Stinson of Port Lavaca, Linda & Patrick David of Englewood, CA; Shirley
Brown, Janie Mae White & Phyllis Clark all of Bay City, Randy Edison of
Lake Charles, LA, Lawrence Edison of Englewood, CA: Willie Edison & Otis
D. Clark of Houston, Ronald Miller of Rosenberg. Four brothers-in-law &
three sisters-in-law: Cedo Jr. and Nelson Sardinea of Markham, Andrew &
Gertrude Sardinea of Houston, Archie and Ora Fields of Galveston, and
Wilma Clark of Houston. Roosevelt also leaves a host of other relatives
and friends.

"Rusty" Edwards Jr.
MARKHAM -
Funeral services for Prince "Rusty" Edwards Jr., 64, of
Markham, will be Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 11 a.m., at Mt.
Zion Penecostal COGIC in Markham with Bishop Fred Jones Sr.
officiating.
Burial will follow immediately after the service at Markham
Cemetery.
Viewing will be Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. in
the chapel of Green's Mortuary.

Prince Edwards, Jr.
Prince Edwards, Jr. “Rusty,” the son of
Prince Edwards, Sr. and Priscilla Evans Edwards was born in West
Columbia, Texas, on Monday, September 30, 1946.
“Rusty,” as he was lovingly addressed by his
family, friends and neighbors, grew up in West Columbia and
attended Charlie Brown School. He was a true fan of the Dallas
Cowboys!!
He attended Bethel Baptist Church in West
Columbia, and was baptized at an early age by Pastor D. T.
Thomas. He was employed at McMillan Fertilizer Plant in El
Maton, Texas.
On Thursday, August 11, 2011, he answered the
call from our heavenly father to come home and be at rest. He
was met at heaven’s gate by his parents, Prince Edwards, Sr. and
Priscilla Edwards; brothers, Leon Edwards and Steve Edwards;
grandmothers, Lucille Evans and Sally Banks; and grandfathers,
Monday Evans and Richard Edwards.
He leaves to mourn, a wife of forty-two
years, Dorothy Edwards, three sons, John Foley of Houston,
Thomas Baugh of Wadsworth and Robert Hill of Markham; five
daughters, Lottie Carter (Will) of Killeen, Noria Mitchell of
Wharton, Jessie Baugh, Nona Blackmon, both of Bay City, Theresa
O’Neal (Elijah) of Markham; five sisters, Rosie Wiley (Elijah),
Juanita Robertson (Harold), Mattie Humphrey (Amos); Dorothy
Edwards (John) and Bessie Edwards; one brother, Charlie Barnes (Almetra);
three brothers-in-law, Gary and Willie Woodbury and Alfred
Blackmon; two sisters-in-law, Adell Young and Elzara Woodbury;
one uncle, John Joiner; three aunts, Arthryne Joiner, Janette
Beverly and Katherine Joiner; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two
great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends, and one special buddy, Sister Carla Williams.

MARKHAM - Diana R. Fisher, 57, of Markham, passed away July 1,
2013, in Houston.

Diana Ray Fisher
On Monday, January 9, 1956, a baby girl was
born to George Fisher, Sr. and Sophronia Fisher in Markham,
Texas, whom they named Diana Rae Fisher. She was the baby girl
of four siblings; two devoted sisters, JoAnn Fisher of Pearland,
D’loris Barnes (Mark) of San Antonio; and baby brother, George
Fisher, Jr. of Pearland. Diana also has two older devoted
siblings: John Wayne Brown of Bay City and Delorian Jones
“Losha” of Houston.
Diana was raised in Markham, Texas by her
grandmother, Phoebe Fisher and father, George Fisher, Sr., due
to the passing of her mother at an early age. She accepted
Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age
at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev.
H . T. Aldridge. There she served on the Junior Usher Board.
Diana attended the public schools of Markham,
Texas and graduated from Tidehaven High School in 1974. Later
she went on to further her education at Houston Community
College and obtained her associates degree in health science.
She was working towards being a Licensed Chemical Dependency
Counselor. She worked at Covenant House in Houston, Texas,
helping the homeless youth.
Diana answered the call to journey to her
eternal home on Monday, July 1, 2013 after a battle with cancer.
She will be met on the other side of Glory by her parents;
George and Sophronia; grandparents, Otis and Phoebe Fisher and
Sam and Freddie Mae Brown along with a host of relatives who
were all dear to her.
Diana leaves to cherish many precious
memories to her beloved sisters and brothers; four children,
Byron Fisher of Pearland, Demetria Hutson (Mike) of Markham,
Brandon Fisher of Markham and LaTanja Fisher of Kingsville; six
grandchildren, Taylor, Trevon, Makylah, Kyndal, Chasity and
Braylon; nephews, George III, Mark Jr., Mychal and nieces, and a
host of family and friends to cherish her memories and celebrate
her Home Going.

George W. Fisher, Sr.
Funeral services for George W. Fisher Sr., 65, of
Markham will be held 11 a. m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in
Markham with the Rev. Donald Burgs Jr., officiating. Burial will follow
in the Markham Cemetery.
Visitation is until 9 p. m. today at the
Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Fisher was born Jan. 9, 1927, to Otis and
Phoebe McClentock Fisher in Markham and died March 3, 1992, at his
residence in Houston.
He was a World War II veteran and was affiliated
with the Baptist church.
Survivors include his mother, Phoebe Fisher of
Markham; two sons, John Wayne of Houston and George W. Fisher Jr. of
Markham; and four daughters, Delores Morgan, Joann Fisher and Diana Ray
Fisher of Houston and Delores Barnes of San Antonio.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Williams, Albert Brown,
Cedo Sardinea, James Boone, Charles Courtney and Robert Lee Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Fisher Jr.,
Mark G. Barnes Sr., Joe L. Fisher, John Wayne Brown, Willie Fisher,
Zederick B. Roy and L. C. Fisher.

Jo Ann Fisher
Jo Ann Fisher, 67, of Houston, Texas passed away on May 28, 2019 in
Pearland, Texas.
She was born in Markham,, Texas on January 31, 1952, the daughter of
George Walter Fisher Sr. and Sophronia Rae Brown Fisher.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim
Rest Baptist Church in Markham, Texas. Burial followed at Markham
Cemetery.
Survivors include a family of loving relatives and many friends.

Funeral
services for L. C. Fisher, 57, of San Diego, Calif. will be at 1 p. m.
Saturday, May 16 at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Markham with Rev. Ashton
officiating.
Burial will follow in Markham Cemetery. Friends may
call from 1 to 9 p. m. Friday, May 15 at E. Viola and Son Funeral Home.
Fisher passed away Thursday, May 7 in San Diego.
He was born May 23, 1940 to Otis and Phoebe Fisher in
Markham, the youngest of seven children.
He was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an
early age by the late Rev. F. J. Thompson.
He received his formal education at A. Jefferson
Elementary in El Maton and Hilliard High School in Bay City.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in December
1961; during his tour in the military he received the Armed Forces
Expeditionary Medal for serving in Vietnam.
After five years of dedicated service, he received an
Honorable Discharge.
In 1980, he was married to Jonnie Crayton. Together
they raised two step-daughters.
He is survived by his wife Jonnie Crayton Fisher of
San Diego; a son, Carl Fisher of San Diego; a sister, Stella Fisher of
Houston; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Willie and Mable Fisher
of Markham, Joe and Dorothy Fisher of West Columbia, and Joan Roy; two
step-daughters, Cynthia and Yvonda, both of California; five
grandchildren, Darius, Catlin, Marcus, Erin, and Jana; and a host of
other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Fred Brown, Curtis Brown,
Levi Boone, Leonard Fisher, George Fisher, Jr., and Carl Fisher.
Arrangements are with E. Viola and Son Funeral Home
in West Columbia.
